Dear Sirs:
For placement in your current available position.
I have always been someone trusted to do jobs out of the ordinary with confidence that they
would be completed with expertise and professionalism. Most of my prior employment
consisted of 24 ½ years for Boeing Aircraft that ended in 2003 where I spent most of those
years in Tool & Die departments. This employment consisted of various manufacturing
support positions including machine work, assembly fabrication, and 7 years in office
environments that enabled and utilized some of my mechanical job knowledge, as well as,
expert computing and presentation skills. Many projects consisted of designing and fabrication
of models and tooling from ground up with occasionally minimal engineering. A lot of work
was focused around corrective action to solve existing problems in design or ergonomic
improvements. Four years were involved with training environments and safety related areas. I
was a safety focal assigned to a shop area and as a certifier of several permit required
equipment.
For the past 9 years I have worked as a Field Engineer and Consultant. 2 ½ years for the
Newpark company as a direct employee in the Rocky Mountains and the last 6 ½ yrs as a
consultant. The past 6 1/2 yrs has been in the West Oklahoma, Texas panhandle, Ohio,
Bakersfield, Ca and central Oklahoma areas. I have aided in drilling for gas and oil depending
on the company and formations My time in the Rockies consisted of mostly on-site jobs where
I managed myself on very remote drilling locations. My success in the field is attributed to
maintaining and ordering accurate chemical inventories along with several technical and clerical
duties and the usual chemical testing needed to aid in the decisions made in the exploration of
gas and oil production. I pride myself in monitoring employees regularly and aiding in their
training of chemical use and handling with required safety practices. I have worked in
Wyoming, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, Ohio, and California. I have also done some
mud work for the mining industry in Utah. I have experience with several Polymers, Silicate,
OBM, & WBM that includes numerous specialty fluids.
My BS degree in Computer Science always finds a home in every job. I have very good
interpersonal communication skills and a good background in training and management
environments. This includes 3 ½ years experience as an instructor attributed to Boeing. I
presented training for corporate process and procedures, including HR, management, safety,
quality, process flow, chain management, and various decision making philosophies. I have
helped people learn to work well with others and enjoy sharing in group projects. If anything, I
am adaptable.
Please call me and arrange an interview to further discuss my qualifications.
Sincerely, Edward J. Starnes
