EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
MATREX, GREENSBORO, N.C.
A DIVISION OF LEGGETT & PLATT
Quality/Environment al Health/Safety Manager
March 2001 to December 2007
Reason for leaving: To seek new opportunities in a company committed to quality, safety and
environmental health.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
As Quality Manager, I was designated as the manage m e nt leader to become the first branch in our
division to be ISO9001 certified. I initiated writing, initiating and auditing the procedures for the
elements that are required for ISO9001, including job descriptions and detailed responsibilities and
inspection plans for each job. I also initiated and implemented ISO 9001 certification at another
facility within Leggett & Platt.
I also was designated as continuous improvem ent facilitator for two branches within the company.
I justified and implemented a capital expenditure to go paperless for all aspects of ISO9001 by
building a website and placing computers in each departm ent for employees to have easy access to
all specifications, work instructions and inspection plans, resulting in increased quality and a
decrease in waste.
I designed a bar- coding system for all customers that required all shipments to have bar- coding
labels.
I possess excellent knowledge of legal laws pertaining to worker’s compensation claims and a very
good working knowledge of environmental issues.
As Safety/Environment al Health Manager, our branch was the only one to be 100% compliant during
the year. I initiated working with OSHA Consultative Services and Environmental Protection Agency
to ensure our plant was compliant with all regulations.

Reason for leaving: Plant closed.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
I developed and implement ed all job descriptions, work instructions and detailed responsibilities for
each job from the Branch Manager all the way through shipping, developed and implemented all
Quality plans for each job and trained employees on how to use them, as well as developing Quality
procedures for all areas of the branch.
I developed project teams using operators, maintenance personnel and manage m e nt to troubleshoot
and solve problems and issues within specific areas. I trained each project team on how to use
specific SPC tools to help understand how to approach issues and track the improvem ents as the
teams gathered data.
I formed a Steering Committee for the branch which included all Managem e nt to review the project
team progress and respond to their recomm endations and trained the Steering Committee in how to
use SPC tools and the benefits SPC provided.
I attended several CIP training sessions at the corporate offices in Carthage, MO. and Ft.Worth, Texas.
I wrote justifications for Capital Expenditure Requests, justifying the purchase of new equipment to
improve sales and productivity, and made contributions toward decreasing downtime, overtime and
increasing cost savings. I implemented several process changes to decrease cost variances and
losses.
I designed graphs and charts to reflect how we were trending in the critical areas of the operations.
These graphs were sent to the Regional Manager and Vice President on a monthly basis.
I worked closely with the Branch Manager to evaluate our progress and to determine next steps for
improvem ents.
I performed daily Quality audits to be reviewed by Supervisors and Managem ent.
