North Korea has accelerated its nuclear missile program under Kim Jong-un, successfully testing an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of reaching Alaska. The England women's football manager was fired for inappropriate relationships with players on a previous team. A BBC survey found that today's 16-22 year olds in the UK see themselves as hard-working and family-oriented, contradicting older perceptions of them as lazy and obsessed with social media. Denver Broncos player Von Miller lost a sponsorship deal with Ford after kneeling during the national anthem to protest racial inequality.

North Korea’s efforts to develop a
nuclear-armed intercontinental
ballistic missile capable of hitting the
US mainland have accelerated during
the first year of Donald Trump’s
presidency. The country’s leader, Kim
Jong-un, has presided over a series of
successful missile tests, including North
Korea’s first launch of an ICBM on 4
July, a development he promised in a
televised new year’s address. Like all
tests, the missile came down in the sea
but its trajectory was thought to place
Alaska in range of a live strike. The
potential range of the Hwasong-14
tested on 28 July could be the game-
changing weapon seemingly sought
by Kim ever since he assumed power
in 2011. Observers noted the missile
had been quickly modified from its
previous test on 4 July, which is a strong
indicator of the regime’s enhanced
capabilities.

The FA were in crisis on Wednesday
night after England women’s
manager Mark Sampson was sacked
because of inappropriate
relationships with female players he
coached at Bristol Academy. FA
chief executive Martin Glenn
admitted having been made aware
of an investigation into Sampson’s
conduct two years ago but failing to
look into it further. Last Wednesday,
Glenn was passed the full report into
accusations against Sampson in
March 2014, soon after he became
England manager of inappropriate
relationships with more than one
female player at Bristol Academy,
claims which made his FA position
‘untenable’.

In this article Newsbeat has
commissioned the BBC's biggest ever
survey of the attitudes of 16 to 22-year-
olds and found a generation wanting to
fight back against a perception from
older people that they're lazy and social
media obsessed. In fact, it's a group
which believes it prioritises family and
education over going out and the
internet.
It's a generation more optimistic about its
future than older generations think it
should be - and one which sees itself as
hard-working and creative.

Here is an a story that I came across on an
famous Instagram page which is known as
the shade room which is a US platform. Von
Miller was one of 32 Denver Broncos players
who kneeled during the national anthem on
Sunday. Unsurprisingly, his actions have cost
him an endorsement renewal with Ford. In a
statement, they explained that they hadn't
fired Von despite reports, rather after
weighing his participation in the national
anthem protests, they decided not to move
forward with any new deals.
