Brief Project Description
• Organisation of individual or grouptailor-made study trips for
selected Serbian media to EU MS
• Assistance in obtaining first-hand impressions and provision of
technical bacground and logistics in production of sucess stories on
the EU accession process
• Creation of media partnerships after journalists back from EU and
monitor thematic stories and programmes created as part of the
project
• Assistance to EU Delegation in handling media interest in EU
integration topics related to study trips

General Selection Criteria
• Coverage, outreach and influence of media outlets
• Existence of news programme
• Proven interest in investigating EU related topics
• National and regional media outlets in Serbia
• Interest in promoting EU related topics by creation of human stories
targeting widest target audience possible

Specific Selection Criteria
• Ability to identify topics and activities that verify some change in
Serbia relevant for the EU integration process
• Ability to provide brief synopsis that identify the topic in Serbia and
partner it with similar experience in EU
• Collection of human-interest stories and acceptance of “bottom-up”
approach (from an individual to policy level)
• Relevance of proposed topics matched with propsoed EU
experience

Activity Plan
• After EUD approves this document a meeting (at the level of PR
representatives) will be organised for:
- SEIO
- Ministry of EU Integration
- Serbian Negotiations Team
- Government’s Press Office
• Upon suggestions from that meeting Project Team shall start
individual meetings and briefings with media outlets from the final
list

Briefing Note
• Inputs and suggestions received during the approval period
will be incorporated into the final version of a briefing note that
will be presented to each of selected media outlet with
instructions on:
- how best to respond to project’s goals
- how best to identify relevant topics and EU experience
- how soon to develop draft synopsis
- what is the procedure of preapring and doing trips
• All documents and activities will be coordinated with EUD’s
Programme Manager and Press and Info Team.
