- Unique amount of content: more than 85.000 hours of recording is accessible at the present (which means almost 10 years of nonstop watching) Player: timeshift function – possibility to shift back up to 3 hours while watching live broadcast. Preview track – easy orientation on the timeline thanks to the preview pictures High capacity of services: the biggest interest of users is during big sport events, during the Olympics games we registered almost 300.000 users connected at the same time. In February 2014 (thanks to the Olympics games) the highest amount of views (36 mio) were registered.
- Czech TV is the HbbTV market leader in the Czech Republic Offers not only VOD applications but also multimedia (including videos, photographs and wide informational service) Most popular are special projects for main programs and sport events (e.g. FIFA World Cup 2014 application) The application is easy to control (the user controls it from the distance - “from the sofa” - and it is accessible on a big screen) – the main attributes leading to a positive change of behavior The application is not only for the specific generation but it is used equally by all the generations
- Technical perspectives of the future development are: easier and more targeted navigation, live streaming, timeshift, implementation of QR codes for connection with mobile devices Plans for content extension are programme highlights projects (such as Star Dance, Panorama), more connections to the Czech TV broadcast (news application ČT24, weather application Počasí etc.), and bonus broadcast (live streaming)
- decko.cz was launched simultaneously with the new kids channel 31.8.2013 as it’s extension and interactive superstructure From the begining the web has been intended to be: Safe - the web is designed in such a way that children would not be able - and primarily would not want to - leave it, go to wilder, more dangerous parts of the internet Trustworthy for the parents - the parents have to be sure that our website playground is completely safe and kids will spend their time usefully Ad-free - there is no advertisement on the website Quality in form and content – co-working with the best Czech designers, painters, writers and actors Apart from interactive – mostly educational – games connected to programmes there are many special interactive projects and complex video-archive of the Déčko channel. All these project has soon gained a high visit rate that confirms a big interest not only of kids but often of teachers and parents
- All projects are closely connected to the programmes - both in form and in content: the projects (games and other interactivities) use the same actors, designers, music, etc. as the programmes to which they are related. Web uses the TV information and content – but also TV works with the web information (e.g. results of the online voting related to the programmes or kids ask questions though web and receive answers through the programme) Two applications for HbbTV were developed – the video archive of the kids channel and a video quiz Ábécédéčko – and more will follow Mobile applications will start with the ones for the preschoolers – educational applications teaching Maths and alphabets. Bonuses (e.g. videos, photographs, animations) produced by a web department are nowadays used mainly on the web. The plan is however to reuse them in the programmes as well
