3. Guillermo Estrella Tolentino (July 24, 1890 – July
12, 1976) was a Filipino sculptor and professor of
the University of the Philippines. He was
designated as a National Artist of the Philippines
for Sculpture in 1973, three years before his
death.Tolentino was born on July 24, 1890 in
Malolos, Bulacan.
Tolentino started studying in Malolos Intermediate
School and continued his high school years in the
same city. After studying in Malolos, Tolentino
went to Manila and attended classes in the School
of Fine Arts of the University of the Philippines.

7. Billy Abueva, as he was fondly called, was born in
Tagbilaran, Bohol, to Teodoro Lloren Abueva, born
in Duero, Bohol, a Bohol congressman and
Purificación González Veloso, born in Cebu,
president of the Women's Auxiliary Service.
He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture at
the UP School of Fine Arts (now UP College of Fine
Arts/UPCFA) in 1953 as one of the second batch of
Fine Arts students who moved from the old campus
in Padre Faura to Diliman. He was mentored by
fellow National Artist for Sculpture Guillermo
Tolentino.
