Red Salamander The Red Salamander… has a red-orange body with black sports, short legs and yellow eyes. eats mostly earthworms but also other insects, spiders and smaller salamanders. is about 3 ½ to 7 inches long. lives in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern parts of the US. can be found by cold clear springs under rocks and debris.

The American Alligator The American Alligator… is found in the southeastern part of the US, mostly in Florida. is one of two species of alligators in the world; the other is in China. can grow up to fourteen ft. long; in rare cases they can grow longer. has rough, boney scales. has about 80 teeth in their mouth but have about two-three thousand in their lifetime. egg temperature determines if a male or female hatches; males are only born in moderate temperatures, females are born in hot or cold temperatures.
