3. Production process
1. Drying of RCN : reduce moisture content to
9% w/w
2. Pretreatment of RCN : Calibration of nuts
into various sizes acc. To diameter 18mm,
20mm, 22mm, 24mm imp for mechanised
shelling machine
3. Warehousing
4. Heat treatment : eases separation of kernel
from shell with steaming machine or boiler.
5. Deshlling : It consists of removal of shell and
oven drying.
6. Peeling : Testa is removed from kernel
manually.
7. Grading : Grading based on colour, shape and
size.

Environmental impact of industry : Shells are used
for oil extraction and testa has medicinal purpose.
Also ETP plant is present.
Employment generation is done in village and mostly
participation and empowerment of women is done.
5. Innovative ideas
1. Scheduling advertising of their local cashew which are tasty other
than imported cashew which are oily in taste.
2. Grading and packing with machines to avoid the errors.
3. Increasing specific transport facilities and making a rigid supply
chain.
