Profile
I am a recent graduate (April 2016) from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) where I
studied and completed my National Diploma in Environmental Management. I also completed six months of
work integrated learning at the Department of Economic Development and Environmental Affairs and
Tourism (DEDEAT) in the Eastern Cape Queenstown. During my work integrated learning I was exposed to
a wide range of laws pertaining to the protection of the environment such as NEMA and how to co-
ordinate the development and implementation of an environmental management system within an
organization. Solving and alleviating environmental issues such as pollution and waste in compliance with
environmental legislation as well as ensuring corporate sustainable development. I am highly motivated
and passionate about the environment and the broad aspects and opportunities it entitles. Through the
wide range of subjects I was exposed to and the work integrated learning i have gained experience in
project management, planning skills, compiling reports, listening skill, writing skills, excellent
communication skills (verbal and written). I have also acquired other skillset such as problem
solving/conflict management and computer literacy. I am currently looking to secure a position in the
environmental field, where I can bring immediate and strategic value and develop my current skillset
further.

2. Work Experience
QC Assistant Abagold SAF Hermanus Western Cape (July2016-December2016)
I just completed another six months of work integrated learning under the Department of
Economic Development in the Western Cape, whereby I was as a quality control assistant at
Abagold’s Specialized Aquatic Feeds (SAF) which is a subsidiary of Abagold Hermanus. My
duties included monitoring the production of trout feed (eaten by fishes) and abalone feed
(eaten by abalone). Was also responsible for monitoring the quality of the working area and
ensuring the quality standards of the firm are met on a daily basis. The work integrated
learning greatly enhanced my communication skills, competency, team work, time
management and my self-confidence.
DEDEAT Queenstown Eastern Cape (July 2015-December2015)
I also completed six months of work integrated learning at the Department of Economic
Development and Environmental Affairs and Tourism (DEDEAT) in the Eastern Cape. I was
exposed to each of the organizations subsections, which include Biodiversity Management,
Coastal Zone Management, Environmental Quality Management and Environmental
Compliance and Enforcement; with the latter being the one I perfected the most because it
ensures compliance with relevant environmental laws and regulations
