2. Superior venacaval Thrombus Unusual Cause of
Facial Swelling
• A 50 years old diabetic hypertensive male came with
gradually increasing facial swelling, dyspnea since 40
days. He took medicines without any relief.
• Routine biochemistry was normal
• There was past history of receiving chemotherapy 5
courses for carcinoma upper esophagus 2 years back.
Presently there was no dysphagia .
• CECT neck & upper chest was done .

3. Facial Swelling
50 years old male had facial swelling since 40
days

Axial CECT chest showed thrombus in the(SVC) superior
vena cava (red arrow)

Thrombus in SVC (yellow arrow) & a dilated (IJV)
internal jugular vein (red arrow) left side neck
