The Combined Arthroplasty and Physiotherapy Symposium (CAPS) is scheduled for March 25-26, 2017, at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, aimed at fostering collaboration between arthroplasty surgeons and physiotherapists for better patient outcomes. The symposium will cover topics such as surgical procedures for total knee and hip replacements, post-operative rehabilitation, and peer discussion to enhance understanding. This highly interactive event promises valuable insights for improving clinical results in joint replacement surgery.

2. Dear Colleagues,
Success of any Joint Replacement (Arthroplasty) depends on surgery itself, and post operative
rehabilitation program. An arthroplasty surgeon plays a major role in surgery and a
Physiotherapist plays very important role in post operative rehabilitation program. Yet, rarely we
have a structured interaction between arthroplasty surgeons and physiotherapists for exchange of
knowledge and ideas. Hence I have planned this Combined Arthroplasty and Physiotherapy
Symposium (called CAPS).
The aim is to bring both the groups at a common platform for exchange of scientific information and
informal interaction. We intend to talk basics of Total Knee Replacement and Total Hip
Replacement in an all comprehensive manner to educate our physiotherapy colleagues and clear
their doubts. The ultimate aim is to benefit our patients and get best clinical results. We will
talk about relevant anatomy, basics of surgery, surgical steps, balancing, type of implants,
computer navigation and discussion on x-rays. This symposium is going to be highly interactive
with no limitation on “discussion time”.
I am pretty sure, the deliberation of one and half day will add a new dimension to your
understanding of Total Knee and Total Hip Replacement Surgeries.
