 Writing policy papers, and briefing current socio-economic issues: Which focuses 
on the issues pertaining to women and children as they are the vulnerable group and 
suffer from worst form of exploitation. 
 Food Security, Livelihood, Housing (Indira Awass Yojana as well as Rajiv Awaas 
Yojana), Water and Sanitation, and Assessment of Welfare Schemes in India: 
When the issues of food, nutrition, shelter and livelihood come, the women and children 
and particularly the pregnant women, lactating mothers and infants are in question. As 
the children are not voters, so they hardly attract the attention of the policy makers so as 
to find the issue in the policy and programme. 
Research Associate, Rajiv Gandhi Institute for Contemporary Studies, Rajiv Gandhi 
Foundation (Nov 2006 – 30 June 2011).
 Undertook Desk Review and Research work on diverse areas including Political 
economy, community development and socio-economic development relating to welfare 
state. The job assignment included writing policy papers, develop project proposals, 
briefing & report writing. Also organized four national level conferences. 
While doing the research and review, it was found that the programmes like ICDS 
envisaged the cognitive development of the children but there have been lots of 
implementation gaps. These were the gap between enrolment and the attendance, the 
infrastructure and the services available. 
Also worked extensively on the panchayati raj system in India. The panchayats are the 
focus of the governance system but the role defined for 29 subjects are never 
implemented except the building and construction. The role relating to registration of 
birth, monitoring of schools, etc. have never been the priority of the panchayats.

 Works include report writing on the project titled, “Preparation of Source Book on 
Learners’ Assessment at the Primary Level,” .The work assigned included data analysis, 
interpretation, compilation and report writing for the project. It is being published by the 
NCERT, New Delhi. 
Junior Project Fellow, Department of Elementary Education, National Council of Education 
Research and Training (March 2006- August 2006) 
 Worked on the project entitled, “An Exploratory Study of Good Practices on Community 
Participation in the Context of UEE”. The work includes data analysis, interpretation and 
report writing.

c. Field Visits undertaken 
 As part of the project entitled “Right to Housing for Poor in India” visited Ratlam, 
Madhya Pradesh to study a village called Ahimsa Gram (A composite cluster). The 
objective of the visit was to understand the concept and workings of Community 
Housing. The aim was also to gauge the idea of a community housing through a 
discussion with the community and to understand the effect of housing on poverty 
reduction particularly children, and women perspective. This study evaluates the 
impact of housing on poverty reduction by taking a case study of Ahimsa Gram, 
Ratlam.

Field Visits undertaken  As part of the project entitled “Right to Housing for Poor in India” visited Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh to study a village called Ahimsa Gram (A composite cluster). The objective of the visit was to understand the concept and workings of Community Housing. The aim was also to gauge the idea of a community housing through a discussion with the community and to understand the effect of housing on poverty reduction particularly children, and women perspective. This study evaluates the impact of housing on poverty reduction by taking a case study of Ahimsa Gram, Ratlam. d.
