Professional Experience
Strategic development
 Leadership capability to contribute in developing strategies and related initiatives in
organisational contexts
 Contributed in the development of organizational strategy of EAA from 2016 to 2020
and prepared a road map to work with journalists on protecting education from attack.
 As member of Programme Leadership Team of Save the Children (India) and
Steering Group Member of the Educational Global Initiative of Save the Children,
(International) actively participated in strategic forums at national and international
levels
 In Save the Children, provided leadership to establish Center for Early Childhood
Development and Research as a credible academic center in partnership with Jamia
Millia Islamia, Delhi
 In Save the Children, initiated process of setting up national steering committee on
Right to Education and ‘children affected with civil strife’ along with UNICEF, NUEPA,
NCPCR
 In UNICEF-MP, initiated orientation of 300 teachers on result based management for
improved learning level of the children
 While working with UNICEF, played a critical role in developing strategy and
execution plan with government agencies to transform 500 government schools as a
center of excellence in Uttar Pradesh, India.

 Experience of implementation, supervision, review, collaboration and giving direction
and guidance to a variety of interventions in different parts of the country
 In Save the Children, managed implementation of 22 education projects in 10 states
 In CARE, ensured re-enrollment of 15000 children in schools along with managing 50
non-formal education centers to equip 1500 newly-enrolled girls with numeracy,
literacy, and life skills
 In UNICEF, ensured innovative approach in setting up 22 mobile schools during the
seasonal migration period for the tribal migrant children
 In Aga Khan Foundation, led a multi-disciplinary team on an integrated project for
minority community on livelihood, women’s empowerment, pre-school, school and
vocational skills
 In CARE, conceptualised and provided guidance to organise a two months residential
camp for 125 orphan children of Kutch to re- enroll them in school after earthquake of
2001
 In Save the Children, ensured training of 7000 School Management Committee
members and 500 teachers. on Right to Education Act, 2009.

 Competence in developing networks with government agencies, civil society
organisations, academic institutions etc. and equipped with sound understanding of

developments in Syria and Afghanistan from education perspective
 Doctoral research work was on exploring dual relationship of armed conflict and
education from 1996-2006 in Nepal, with both theoretical and firsthand experience for
designing relevant interventions and raising critical issues with policy makers
 In Save the Children, anchored a documentary film and a narrative report (Caught in
Crossfire) to highlight the situation of children affected with civil strife in the three
states of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Orissa; these and the follow-up articles on
this issue have been appreciated widely
 In Save the Children, conceptualised and provided technical guidance to a research
study on ‘Social identity in classrooms of Bihar’ to identify and address issues of
discrimination in the classroom processes.
 Developed several training modules on ‘Inclusive School’, ‘School Management
Committee’ and ‘Inclusive Learn Friendly Environment’ to facilitate training of 800
teachers while working with Save the Children.
 Experience of monitoring systems in programmes in education in post-earthquake
response programme of CARE- India , Bhuj, Gujarat.
 Produced TV reports and short films on social issues for Government of India;
frequently written articles in English and Hindi, research papers, and have been
participating in national and international conferences (cited later in this document)
