Objectives Of Non-Detention Policy
1. To Prevent Dropouts.
2. To free the students from the preserve and
fear of examination.
3. To provide stress free learning environment.
4. To achieve the goal of universalization of
education.
Arguments In Favour Of Non-
Detention Policy
1. Non-Detention policy helped in reducing
dropouts rate.
2. Continuous and Comprehensive
Evaluation helps to improve teaching
and learning.
3. Teaching and learning become
diagnostic.
4. Improved morale of weak students.
5. To make every child educated/literate.
6. Reduces the chance of stress (of
teacher and student).
7. More admission in government.
schools (e.g. Kerala , Sikkim)
8. Provides a chance to grow
academically.
9. Saves the time/year in case of
failure.
10. Reduces the fear among
students/teachers.
11. Suicidal rates decreases.
12.Universalization of education.
13.Will achieve the goal of free and
compulsory education.
Arguments Against
Non-Detention Policy
1. Increased failure rate in 9th and 10th .
2. Low standard of education.
3. Spirit of competition decreased.
4. Wastage of resources i.e. material and
human.
5. It is also felt that a children do not study and
work hard as they don’t have fear of failure.
6. Non-detention policy leave children with more
struggle.

  • 3. Objectives Of Non-Detention Policy 1. To Prevent Dropouts. 2. To free the students from the preserve and fear of examination. 3. To provide stress free learning environment. 4. To achieve the goal of universalization of education.
  • 4. Arguments In Favour Of Non- Detention Policy 1. Non-Detention policy helped in reducing dropouts rate. 2. Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation helps to improve teaching and learning. 3. Teaching and learning become diagnostic. 4. Improved morale of weak students. 5. To make every child educated/literate. 6. Reduces the chance of stress (of teacher and student).

Wastage of resources i.e. material and human. 5. It is also felt that a children do not study and work hard as they don’t have fear of failure. 6. Non-detention policy leave children with more struggle.
