First ODF Block of Bihar under SBM
Piprasi block comprises with 7 Panchayat ,3 revenue villages and 33 tolas and total
population will be around 60000 .Total household(APL and BPL) of the Block is 10126 and
out of 10126 our target of toilet construction is 7761 HH.There is 9 school and 11
Aanganwari centre in Piprasi.
Majorly we can found Yadav, Kushwaha, Mallah and Mushahar in the Piprasi Block their
source of earning is Agriculture and Animal Husbandry.

Piprasi come in focus after the 19th
of February before that no one know more about the
piprasi because this block is very much interior and deprived but after the decision to make
Piprasi as an open defecation free block in DWSC meeting suddenly this block come in the
limelight everyone including media wanted to know what is going on, visit of Govt. officials
has started dwellers also started thinking that all are having serious concern for the same so
they understand the mission Piprasi and came forward to make their village as an ODF.

Mission Piprasi has started with the DWSC meeting all the stakeholders and senior Govt.
official were present, under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Shri Lokesh kumar Singh
IAS it had been unanimously decide that Mission Piprasi as SWAKCHHAGRAH will start
and make them ODF within two month .

• Community led collective behaviour change intervention for ODF.
• Coordinated and convergent action by actors and stakeholders.
• Strengthen of Supply chain Management using of local entrepreneur.

• Intense behaviour change intervention leading to construction and use of toilets.
• Using of Jivika organizational set up for community mobilization.
• Behaviour change communication by Department as well as development
partner like Plan –Adithi.
• Strong demand generation and BCC by partners.
