Janice DoucetThompson, EdD
Dr. Janice Thompson, a Consulting Associate with The Ken Blanchard
Companies®
, is a highly experienced organizational development
practitioner and management consultant. Her passion and knowledge
optimize effectiveness and resiliency in the organizations she works
with. A skilled facilitator, Janice understands what it takes to deliver
results in challenging and complex environments.
Janice has achieved results for people and performance initiatives in
health care, retail, financial services, education, professional services,
and manufacturing. Her expertise includes succession planning,
leadership, change management, and board-retreat facilitation.
Her career has included leadership roles at a variety of companies in
the private and public sectors. She was the director of organizational
effectiveness and succession planning at Sutter Health, helping to
build Sutter Health University and designing an executive leadership
development process, and a Change Leadership Practice Leader at the
Juran Institute.
Janice serves on the faculty at the University of San Diego (USD),
where she teaches Succession Planning and Talent Management for
the School of Business Administration, Master of Science in Executive
Leadership (MSEL) program; she also taught Leading Change for
seven years. Janice has presented Unleashing the Power of Women in
the Workplace and Delivering Powerful Presentations through USD’s
Executive Education series.
She holds a doctor of education in organizational leadership from
Brandman University, a master’s degree in human resources and
organization development from the University of San Francisco, and a
bachelor’s degree in public relations and speech communication from
San Jose State University. Her dissertation focused on leading with
emotional labor in the service industry. Janice is certified in the 4MAT
Model of Instructional Design and also holds a teaching certificate
from the California Community College system.
