ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF CSE
The Department of Computer Science &Engineering was established in the
year 1990 (30+ years of standing) given the high demand for Computer Science
professionals from the industry. The department aims to provide students with a
strong foundational background in Computer Science, whilst enabling them to
integrate their knowledge with other disciplines in order to make new and innovative
discoveries. The undergraduate and postgraduate programs of the Department of
Computer Science & Engineering are approved by the AICTE, New Delhi.

VISION & MISSION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF CSE
In line with the vision and mission of B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent
Institute of Science & Technology, the vision & mission statements are
formulated and presented below.
VISION
The vision of the Department of Computer Science and engineering is
to impart quality education, inculcate professionalism and enhance the
problem-solving skills of the students in the domain of Computer Science and
Engineering with a focus to make them industry-ready, involve in possible
areas of research, to pursue and have continual professional growth.
MISSION
 To equip the students with strong fundamental concepts, analytical
capability, programming, and problem-solving skills.
 To create an academic environment conducive for higher learning
through faculty training, self-learning, sound academic practices, and
research endeavors.
 To provide opportunities in order to promote organizational and
leadership skills in students through various co-curricular and

The department runs undergraduate programme (4), postgraduate
programme, Ph.D programme and also runs six minor degree
programmes.
The department has excellent infrastructural and computing facilities
with well qualified and dedicated faculty. The goal of the department
is to prepare and motivate the students for a successful career in
the industry, research and academics and also to make them meet
the needs of emerging technology. We also interact with industries

 The Computer Science and Engineering Association (CSEA) is the student body of the
Department.
 All the students of the Department are the members of the Association. The association
seeks to foster a sense of community and belonging amongst the students and also to
increase interaction between faculty and students within the department.
 CSEA has encouraged the academic and scientific development of the department’s student
body through activities such as ARCANE a national level technical symposium organized
annually.
 The CSEA inculcates interpersonal skills in students through events like Talent Hunt (To hunt
the student’s technical talent), EC Meet (To encourage the extracurricular activities), and ECO
FEST (Awareness for the green and eco-friendly environment).
