Drug utilization study of antihypertensive drugs
A prospective, cross sectional study monitoring the utilization of antihypertensive drugs, FDCs
and comparison of the same with the standard guidelines (JNC 7). The prescribed daily doses
were compared with the defined daily doses as recommended by WHO

Job Purpose:
To provide strategic and operational medical inputs including medical information and product
support to marketing in order to achieve Mylan Pharma’s India business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Medico-Marketing Activities
o Launch preparations – search of relevant literature, discussion about
positioning, USP of the proposed molecules, preparation of product
monograph/booklet, launch training of field
o VAF Discussion (Structured communication), other scientific
communications going to field as per the Glenmark promotional practice
guidelines.
o Review of scientific literature, journals, medical books, etc for doctors
communication as per the Glenmark promotional practice guidelines.
o Organizing Offshore Scientific Meet (Selection of topic, identification of
speakers, moderators, identification of location & suggestion the same to
marketing, etc)
o Conducting CMEs and Workshops at various venues including teaching
institutes
o Presentations to be made on newer products at various CMEs, Workshops and
Symposias
o Handling field query (either from doctor or sales representative) through
mail, directly via phone
o Robust support to training department so as to build up confident sales team
Medical Activities
o Conduction of clinical trials (post-marketing, promotional and PEM studies) -
Identification of investigator, site, working out logistics for the CTs, follow up
of successful completion of study
o Preparation of package insert
o Preparation of product monographs
o Conduction of scientific workshops (identification of speaker, topic, etc)
o Conduction of local forums, round table meets, local CMEs, symposiums, etc
o Refresher training of the field staff on a periodic basis

o Directing the preparation of scientific movies, etc to be used for CMEs, case
discussions, etc
o Medical evaluations of new products, new formulations
o Development of product rationale for DCGI
o Maintaining customer relations with various KOLs and Trend Setters and
continuously updating the list
o Pharmacovigilance activities
Medical Research
o Identification of potential molecules for the division, suggestion of new
formulation (brand extensions)
o Meeting doctors (KOLs) to identify any unmet need in therapy, suggestion for
new formulation
o Evaluations of products/formulations etc proposed for in licensing,
marketing, etc
o Suggestions for the formulation changes in the current treatment options for
the New Drug Development Projects.
o Planning of workshops for respective divisions including co-ordinating with
the KOLs and the hospitals conducting the same.
o Co-ordination with the Business Development Team for the introduction of
newer molecules and in-licencing opportunities.
o Co-ordination with the IP Team for the patent opportunities for the newer
formulations through NDDS projects

 19th Dec 2012 to 1st April 2015: Worked at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Mumbai as Medical
Advisor for Majesta and G&G divisions
 Post-graduation in MD Pharmacology Resident trainee, Worked as Tutor for 3 years in the
department of pharmacology, Krishna Institute of Medical College, KIMS University, Karad,
Maharashtra.
Teaching Undergraduate medical, dental, physiotherapy and nursing students in
theory lectures and practical sessions in the laboratory

Key Responsibilities: Medico-Marketing Activities o Launch preparations – search of relevant literature, discussion about positioning, USP of the proposed molecules, preparation of product monograph/booklet, launch training of field o VAF Discussion (Structured communication), other scientific communications going to field as per the Glenmark promotional practice guidelines. o Review of scientific literature, journals, medical books, etc for doctors communication as per the Glenmark promotional practice guidelines. o Organizing Offshore Scientific Meet (Selection of topic, identification of speakers, moderators, identification of location & suggestion the same to marketing, etc) o Conducting CMEs and Workshops at various venues including teaching institutes o Presentations to be made on newer products at various CMEs, Workshops and Symposias o Handling field query (either from doctor or sales representative) through mail, directly via phone o Robust support to training department so as to build up confident sales team Medical Activities o Conduction of clinical trials (post-marketing, promotional and PEM studies) - Identification of investigator, site, working out logistics for the CTs, follow up of successful completion of study o Preparation of package insert o Preparation of product monographs o Conduction of scientific workshops (identification of speaker, topic, etc) o Conduction of local forums, round table meets, local CMEs, symposiums, etc o Refresher training of the field staff on a periodic basis
