3. USE CASE STUDY
Ruben Ramirez was incarcerated at the age of 26. His incarceration meant that his two young children
and wife would be alone for the next 7 years. Ruben while serving his sentence realized how precious
his free life was and how much he loved his family that he took for granted for so long.
Being the father of two, Ruben was given a BoxS account from a non
profit organization that helps support rehabilitation through family
action. The BoxS account that Ruben received came with one Legacy
Box to create for himself and one TreasureBox to create for his children,
Kale and Sophia.
Ruben began filling his Legacy Box with his thoughts, emotions,
memories and experiences. He began his Treasure Box writing personal,
heart felt explanations about his choices and adding advice for his
children within his daily journal.
Ruben and his appointed re-entry guide (case worker) spent their visits
reviewing Rubens Legacy Box and created Treasure Box, discussing their
contents and the tools Ruben would need in order to be successful in his
re-entry into society as a returning citizen. After a period of time, Ruben
and his re-entry guide (case worker) decide that it will be beneficial for
Ruben to share his children’s Treasure Box with them.
Because Ruben’s children are young, their mother, Marcia is required to
either accept the Treasure Box for the children or to deny the invitation.
Marcia recognizing the benefits of the Treasure Box for her children,
accepts the invitation from Ruben.
Once accepted Ruben and Marcia watch as their children grow to
understand and accept their circumstance. Ruben’s oldest son Kale,
who had been silent towards his father since his arrest was able to open
up to Ruben and forgive him for his absence.
Ruben found hope for the future through the bond he rebuilt with his
children and pride in himself for becoming the father they had always
needed him to be. Kale and Sophia were able to rebuild their trust with
their father, understand his mistakes and ultimately come to know his
love for them.
The Treasure Box shared between the children and their father helped to
enable the children to move forward with self knowledge,
understanding, and confidence. These tools will help Kale and Sophia to
make positive decisions that will benefit them in the future.

relocation or foster parents who are no longer
providing care for a child.
Treasure BoxS allows these parents to privately and securely store a
digital module with media and messages for their children even if they
haven’t seen them in years. It also offers a private environment to
interact whenever possible.

Free limited account
Every user on Box Sync, Inc. sites, including Affiliate
Channel will be required to create a free Member
Page in order to interact in any way. This allows us
to track our users, their associations, comments,
etc., helping to ensure the integrity and safety of
all our members.
Admin assigned users (Affiliate) will have full control over all aspects
of the Member Page, Legacy, Treasure, Group and Memorial BoxS
they are assigned to. The Member page can be set to visible or not-
visible, thereby making the Member Page searchable by other users
or not detected. In the case of “not detected” Member will not have
the ability to receive invites but may send Friend Requests.

Your Autobiography
Legacy BoxS is an online resource for people
to create a visual and written representation
of themselves that will live on forever. Unlike
online memorials, which are created after
someone passes, Legacy BoxS are for people
to record their own life stories through favorite
pictures, journal entries and much more. Over
thousands of years, generations have passed
down stories and mementos to their children, but in this culture that is
inundated with technology, we have yet to establish a tool to collect
them digitally for this purpose.

public contribution, available to visit and
comment on without invitation, in order to
capture the entire story of a special life.
Every Memorial Box has an assigned administer who has full control over
the final contents posted to the Memorial Box.
Memorial BoxS can be updated daily with the thoughts, stories and
media from the family and friends of the Memorialized. The sharing of
one’s thoughts, connecting and communicating with family, friends and
others who shared in the life of the deceased, help to assist individuals in
recovering from the difficult loss of a loved one. The Memorial Box
ensures that a life not be forgotten. That A life can be revisited, honored
and passed on, time and time again.
