Culture is the way you think, act and interact.
Culture includes knowledge, law, morals ,art ,
belief and customs.
Culture of INDIA refers
• Dharma
• Traditions
• Languages
• Ceremonies
• Food
• Arts
• Beliefs and Customs.
HOW WAS “INDIAN CULTURE” BEFORE?
Some basic foundations of Indian Culture are as follows:
1. RELIGIOUS(Dharma):
India is the country where people from diversified
religions live together and follow the religion they respect.
2.GREETINGS:
Namaste is a common spoken greeting or salutation
in which one hold hands together with a smile to express
deep respect and give honor to other people.
3.CUISINE:
Indian food categories are northern, southern ,
eastern , western and etc.....
4.CLOTHING:
Indian dressing is very famous as traditional
clothing.
Traditional clothing in India greatly varies across different
parts of the country and is influenced by foreigners also.
How is it now?
“Open your arms free, get ready to change with the world but do
not let go your values”
-Dalai Lama
India has changed and changing in all aspects of values which has
positives and negatives.
Positives:
• Sati pratha was abolished and widow remarriage was approved
• Education
• Technology
• Film industry etc…
Negatives:
• Crimes against women
• Still judge by color and caste
• Humanity is decreasing.
Reasons for decaying of our culture:
• No joint families nuclear family.
• No time to spend with children, family.
Problem: Our next generation will remain unaware about
Indian culture and slowly forget it.
• Education
Problem: Mental stress on children is increased.
• Technology
Problem: physical pleasure is preferred by young generation
over mental pleasure and also commit crimes.
Example: watching unnecessary sites, taking alcohol.
Foreigners who gave their effort to INDIA
C.P.BROWN(Charles Phillip Brown)
He is the British officer who worked as
Collector of Kadapa district and gave Telugu
their first Telugu-to-English dictionary.
MOTHER TERESA
• She is famous for what she did.
• She dedicated her life for helping poor and homeless.
• She won Noble Peace Prize for her efforts in 1979.
Sir ARTHUR COTTON
• Cotton is widely known as the
'Delta Architect' of the Godavari District because of his work
in irrigation engineering through his construction of the anicut system.
• He is one of the reason for construction of Dowleswaram Barrage.
Solutions to revive Indian culture :
Modernity – Blaming western culture
Spending time with family and preferring
joint families
 Should motivate with their strengths.
 Parents should discuss freely and frankly
each and every issue of their teen and should
tackle it patiently and smartly.
