Ø Key member of Skretting’s South Antarctic krill meal sourcing team (2004~2005). This work triggered
Norwegian Aker Company to enter the krill business and achieve its current leadership status.
Ø Consulting Ukrainian Corporation Interrybflot to reach western-standard on their onboard (at-sea)
processing and sales standards. Increased krill meal unitary sales prices and at the same time opening the
Japanese market (reaching 35% market share), improving on-board processing output and raising
Interrybflot fishing fleet financial performance (2004~2006).
Ø Co-owner of Chilean Company Osteos21 in association with late Cornel PhD Dr. Hector Kovacevich.
Osteos21 patented (2004) an osteoporosis-prevention food based on krill, salmon and other seafood.
Ø Applied Eastern-European food-grade frozen krill meat processing technology on-board USA krill
trawler F/V “Top Ocean” (1998~2002) been awarded the “New Products’ Conference” Silver Medal
(2002 Boston Seafood Show) for a new novel food product. Compete with Japanese, Russian, Ukrainian,
Korean and Polish krill fishing companies outperforming them in pricing and product positioning.
Ø Design and implement the change in processing layout and marketing focus for the Chilean fishing
company Pesquera Camanchaca’s crustacean meals, increasing unitary sales prices in a three year
period, opening new markets and expand the category (1997-2000).
Ø Developed for Chilean investors a new frozen fish export platform for the Russian market (1997~2000).
Ø Team member for the US$65M investment of Norwegian company Aker RGI in its F/T “American
Monarch” trawler, built to produce surimi in Chilean waters. (Client: USA American Seafoods, 1996).
Ø General Manager of the Chilean company “Tres Lirios S.A”. Created the first Chilean-Cuban association
trading food and frozen fish from Chile to Cuba (1998-1999).
Ø Developed an extensive market penetration program for frozen and fresh berries within Mercosur
countries (Vital Berry S.A., 1996-1997).

Consultant-Krill Division Manager
Ø Responsible for launching and operating the first Chilean company (Tepual S.A.) devoted to fishing,
processing and marketing krill products. Design and launched a multicultural partnership between
Japanese Marubeni, Russian Sovryflot and Ukrainian Atlantika to operate 5-krill fishing trawlers in
South Antarctic waters. Tepual became world-leader in production and sales of krill meal and feed-grade
krill oil, surpassing at that time top world producer Japanese Nippon Suisan and Maruja (formerly
Taiyo), Poles (Dalmor & Gryf) and Russians/Ukrainians (Atlantika).
Ø Led the introduction of Russian and Ukrainian feed-grade krill meals in the western feed-manufacturing
market in conjunction with the upgrade of operators’ fishing trawlers processing plants, raising krill meal
selling prices and operations’ financial ratios.
