The June 2021 Core Update was a major global update by Google rolled out over two weeks starting June 2nd. It caused significant short-term fluctuations in the rankings, especially in the health, autos, pets, science and travel categories from June 4th-6th. The Semrush sensor detected a score of 9.3 on June 4th and 9.1 on June 5th, higher than the December 2020 update. Websites may have been negatively impacted if they lacked original, comprehensive content, had excessive ads, or seemed designed solely to rank well rather than provide value to users. To prepare, sites should ensure high quality, mobile-friendly content and work on link building over the next few weeks as rankings recover.

7. What needs to be improved on your website?
According to the most of the blogs you might be negatively impacted because of the update but
there might be no that need to be done to the website. One might consider the below questions to
check if things are right on place.
● Does the content provide original information, reporting, research or analysis?
● Does the content provide a substantial, complete or comprehensive description of the topic?
● Does the content provide insightful analysis or interesting information that is beyond obvious?
● If the content draws on other sources, does it avoid simply copying or rewriting those sources
and instead provide substantial additional value and originality?
● Does the headline and/or page title provide a descriptive, helpful summary of the content?
● Does the headline and/or page title avoid being exaggerating or shocking in nature?
● Is this the sort of page you’d want to bookmark, share with a friend, or recommend?
● Would you expect to see this content in or referenced by a printed magazine, encyclopedia or
book?
8. Other questions that you may consider are as follows-
● Is the content free from spelling or stylistic issues?
● Was the content produced well, or does it appear sloppy or hastily produced?
● Is the content mass-produced by or outsourced to a large number of creators, or spread across
a large network of sites, so that individual pages or sites don’t get as much attention or care?
● Does the content have an excessive amount of ads that distract from or interfere with the main
content?
● Does content display well for mobile devices when viewed on them?
● Does the content provide substantial value when compared to other pages in search results?
● Does the content seem to be serving the genuine interests of visitors to the site or does it seem
to exist solely by someone attempting to guess what might rank well in search engines?
What needs to be improved on your website?
9. ● If you are good to go with the previous points, there are probably no changes that need to be
done to your site
● Waiting for the rankings to reverse back in 2-3 weeks would be a wise thing to do
● Checking the lost backlinks in the last month and trying to gain back those would be another
step just to contain the damage done to the rankings
● Building more links
