1. Dear Prospective Employer:
This letter is to provide a recommendation for my colleague Diggenis Covo. Diggenis and I have
worked together over the past year supporting our mutual client in a major transitional project.
This project involved a hardware refresh to replace all the aging Cisco switches, firewalls, and
routers with new higher capacity Cisco routers, HP Network switches, and Checkpoint firewalls.
The work was to be completed in a very short timeframe as the newer equipment provided a
substantial reduction in operational expenses. This highly compressed schedule increased the
difficulty and risks to a very high level.
This work was done in multiple data centers located across the globe and involved many
different teams within HP to accomplish the refresh goals. Diggenis managed all aspects of the
refresh, from personnel engagements, to new equipment procurement, communications with all
stakeholders, project schedule tracking to insure the effort remained on schedule, and ran the
events when the actual migrations from old to new devices were done.
Diggenis performed his role in an exceptional manner and was the major factor in the success of
this project. Without his efforts and expertise, this exceeding difficult project would have been
severely impacted and its goals would not have been achieved.
Recently, HPE has made a change in direction in their staffing model, leading to thousands of
employees’ positions being eliminated, including Diggenis. His departure will be to HPE’s
determent and another organizations gain.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions concerning my experiences working with
Diggenis.
