5 min - T will divide the class into
6 groups and then he
gives students a different
picture of the story they
will work on. Based on the
provided picture T asks
students to come up with
a tittle for the story,
guided by the following
question.
- What do you think is going
to be the story about?
- Students are given
the chance to use
their background
knowledge in order to
infer what is the story
about.
- This part of the
class will allow
students to
activate their prior
knowledge.
2. Annex 1: Pictures
Plot activity 15 min - T will distribute 8 pictures
to each group, then they
must identify and organize
them according to the
formalistic plot:
- a) Exposition, b) Rising
action, c) Climax, d)
Falling action, e)
Resolution.
- Then, T asks students to
Draw a plot pyramid and
paste the pictures next to
the part of the plot they
belong to.
- Ss will identify and
organize a short story
-Ss Draw a plot
pyramid of the short
story with pictures.
Ss share the pyramid
with the rest of the
class.
- This section of
the class will
enable Ss to test
their creativity and
understanding of
the formalist plot
structure.
Expansion
activity
15min - T will give students the
task to narrate the story
they had build and also, to
come up with
comprehension questions.
- Ss are given the
chance to orally share
the stories they
worked on.
This part of the
class will allow
students to recall
important details
of the plot.
