2. EXTENSIVE FISH FARMING
SYSTEM
• systems use low stocking densities (e.g., 5 000-10
000 shrimp post larvae (PL)/ha/crop) and no
supplemental feeding, although fertilization may be
done to stimulate the growth and production of
natural food in the water
3. SEMI-INTENSIVE FISH FARMING
SYSTEM
• Semi-intensive farming systems account for about
70% of fish and crustacean aquaculture production
in the tropics, employing semi-intensive feeding
methods ranging from the use of low-cost pond
fertilization tech- niques to high-cost complete diet
feeding strategies.
4. • INTENSIVE FISH FARMING
SYSTEM
• An intensive fish farming system is the well-
managed form of fish farming, in which all attempts
are made to achieve maximum production of fish
from a minimum quantity of water. This system
involves small ponds/tanks/raceways with very high
stocking density (10-50 fish/m3 of water). Fish are
fed wholly formulated feed.
5. INTEGRATED AQUACULTURE
SYSTEM
• Integrated fish farming combines fish, swine,
poultry, and vegetable production. Chicken coops
and pens for pigs and ducks can be constructed on
the dikes or above the ponds. Fresh animal manure
thus enters the pond directly, hastening the growth
of natural food organisms for the fish being
cultured in the pond.
6. KINDS OF BEING CULTURED AS
MEANS OF LIVELIHOOD
• Milkfish and Nile tilapia are the major fishes now
produced but groupers, sea bass, rabbit fish, red
snappers, carps, and catfishes are grown by some
farmers.
7. WAYS TO PREVENT POSSIBLE
HAZARDS BROUGHT ABOUT BY
CULTURING FISH
• USe of proper site pre evaluatiocondition
procedure.
• Good construction practices
• Lower stacking rate and commercial feeding
rate
• Proper management Technique
• Maintaining good water quality conditionsa
• Keeping the culture facility clean and Well
organized
• Adoption of sustainable Culture techniques
8. MILK FISH
• Milkfish is the national fish
of Philippines and it is
known locally as "bangus"
Milkfish is a delectable fish
which grows fast and can
tolerate a wide range of
salinity.
9. TILAPIA
Tilapia is a
good fish for
Culture, it can
be breed in
ponds, cages,
or fish pens. If

10. CATFISH

batrachus is a
black, slippery
fish with
mustache to aid
it in swimming.
It is called
