Today, We may witness mild negative opening in Nifty around 7840
level on back of SGX Nifty and other Asian counters which is
trading on mixed note today.
Benchmark index -- Nifty has ended lower on Wednesday amid
weak cues from global markets after data showed rising U.S.
inflation and on comments from Fed officials that rekindled
prospects of an interest rate hike as early as June. Further,
investors’ sentiment remained subdued with report that India’s
receipts from invisible services declined 4 per cent to $57.61 billion
in the October-December quarter of 2015-16, while payments
towards such activities rose by 5.8 per cent to $30.67 billion.
However, downside remained capped with private report that
growth recovery in Indian economy is becoming more ‘broad-
based’ with rise in public sector capital expenditure and foreign
direct investment. Also, going forward the consumption growth is
expected to pick up further. Besides, some support also came in
with a Nielsen survey that Indian consumers were the most
confident in the world in terms of job prospects, personal finances
and concerns in the first quarter of 2016 with their confidence
index touching a nine-year high during the period.
The gainers in Nifty index were SBIN, ONGC, LUPIN, LT, HCLTECH.
While on the other hand, top losers were BOSCHLTD, ZEEL,
BAJAJAUTO, HEROMOTOCO, M&M.

 BankNifty closed at 16762 with gain of 0.15%. BankNifty opened on positive note but soon shifted its
move in sideways. Index reversed its gain in later part of the day.
 As of now there is divergence in the composition on BankNifty counters. Private sector banks lead on
rotation basis but PSB continued to lag.
 Among BankNifty index 6 banking stock ended on negative note, some Private sector bank had
performed very well but in some counters mild profit taking has been observed like YESBANK and
KOTAKBANK .
 Going forward, BankNifty likely to trade with negative bias till it sustain below 17000 level. On down
side immediate support will be 16350 level.

 Intraday volatility continued to spread through the day. Nifty opened gap down note, remained lower till
mid noon but reversed thereafter.
 Nifty closed at 7870 level with loss of 20 points or -0.26%. From candlestick perspective Nifty has formed
Evening star however confirmation required.
 It was 7th consecutive session where nifty traded in sideways. Index is still sustaining above 21 days and
250 days moving average.
 Going forward, Nifty seems to be in the range of 7700 to 7900. Fresh upside momentum can be expected
above 7900 level only. On downside immediate support will be around 7860 and 7770 level.

Derivative Front:
The VIX increased by 0.50% and reached 16.45. The 50-share
Nifty was down by 20.60 points or 0.26% to settle at
7,870.15.
The top gainers from the F&O segment were Aditya Birla
Nuvo, Indiabulls Real Estate and NMDC. On the other hand,
the top losers were Motherson Sumi Systems, United Spirits
and Castrol India. In the index options segment, maximum OI
was being seen in the 7800-8500 calls and 7000-7900 puts. In
today's session, while the traders preferred to exit 7900 put,
heavy buildup was seen in the 7700 put. On the other hand,
traders exited from 8300 Call, while 7800 call witnessed
considerable OI addition.
The Nifty Put Call Ratio (PCR) finally stood at 0.93 for May
month contract. The top five scrips with highest PCR on OI
were Syndicate Bank (1.47), Indusind Bank (1.46), Indiabulls
Real Estate (1.24), Axis Bank (1.16) and Punjab National Bank
(1.16).
