A Short View To Market
The smartphone is the most widely used mobile technology in the United States
— as of 2018 (so we may say the same for rest of the world). 77% of U.S.
adults own a smartphone, according to Pew Research Center.
This let us swift and interconnected world. So, day by day it grows faster than
before. Social media and other parameters also affect us to spend our time
more than it before. Now, we are totally addicted to the market.
Lets short lookup to the milestones of the market:
So, it seems as three tech innovations are shifting mobile usage from now to near
future. Which are;
• Augmented reality (AR),
• Virtual reality (VR)
• Artificial intelligence (AI) voice assistants.
As you can see its all about the physical&technological investment and innovations
related with. All them affect the market and let us force to own it.
I respect all that you done as strategies in the market. But, I saw a big short in the
market too. All that pushes let end-user to feel un-confortable. I believe not so much
people want to wear wearable technology in daily life. Will it? No, its not.
Why: Answer is simple ‘Empathy’
I believe that empathy is the most important skill that a human or a company have to
had. Let me brief what I want to tell: If a bank accounter calls you and say that ; we
offer you a credit card that has limit ZZZZ dolars. You feel so uncomfortable, aren’t
you? It’s just because in day life experience a person smother it alot. But, if you need a
credit card and you go to a XXX bank and say that ‘I need a credit card with ZZZZ
dolars’ than you never feel that feeling. On the other hand, if you had a well service
while your appoval that means you want to work with that bank so long. That’s how
we react as a human.
Human acts are simple and clearly understandable. But, the way of global companies
that they choosed are provocative. I mean forcing to buy new gadgets..etc. This does
not make sense in a general manner. That creates more un-convinced and upset
societies.
What I want to offer you is tech firms like you have to start a new challange with less
provocative but more profit. The main idea of that ‘Feel the need of owning’. I don’t
declare that you haven’t any idea of that. Of course you had it already. But, what I
want to tell you is after a good start of the idea at the begining you moved your focus
directly to pushing/forcing market to own gadgets.
I need a short brief in here:
There were huge amount of brands with high profit sales till Apple’s iPod revealed.
But, Apple’s iPod killed that market due innovative solutions without forcing people to
own it. It was there and people wanted to own it due innovative skills of the product
(touch roll bar:I mean circle, ease of use to shift in songs, making own lists in easy way,
smart view and high quality sound frequency with a huge storage in side). So, design is
good, price was affordable and ease of use. Thats all that a man in this world want to
own. You feel like you owned a PORSCHE. One more example, till Apple’s iPhone all
market declare that they manufacture the smart phones but it wasn’t. Cause, iPhone
have the same idea with iPod: ease of use, an indisputable truth in innovations(apple
store, galleries, mails, music…etc and a beatiful design that gave a shape in the market.
Now, market totally far away that idea.
The idea totally changed due several reasons in the market and market focused on;
• Megapixels improvements
• Technical spec improvements (ram, internal memories…etc)
• Gorilla Glass Tech
• Retina/Amoled Screens
• Higher screen sizes
• Stylus/iPencil
• Metal back surface
• First foot steps of AI: Siri/ Ok google
• Wearable Technologies
• Wireless Charge
• Dual Cam (mono-chrome, colored)
• AR,VR and AI
• Technical spec improvements (ram, internal memories…etc) again
• Mirror Backside…etc
*Also fast connection, better Wi-Fi, 3g-3.5g-4G-5g
All of them are the tip of the iceberg. On the otherhand, there are a few of big short in
the market. So, check what they are.
Now, let’s close glance on the silent grow of the revenue in the market which are Apple
Store and Google Play:
• Apple's App Store Generated Over $11 Billion In Revenue For The Company Last Year

So shortly, there are huge markets grow extraordinary.
At this point I have plenty of strategies for Marketing of smartphone brands, which are:
1. Browser advertisements
2. Store advertisements
3. App advertisements
4. Brand’s official apps for offering new staff to the users
5. Colored design by light and lighting effects
6. Selling additional gadgets near smartphone. (MINI’s strategy)
7. Upgradable smartphone market (which will be marketing 2.0 for smartphones)
‘I meaned service sales in the market’
Strategy 1:Browser advertisements (periodically send notifications on top of
notification bars and lock screen)
With your own browser (not
Chrome), you can make a huge profit
while you are sharing a few of
notifications during the day. Sharing
news daily, whats hot today..etc you
can take advertisements and publish
directly with all account who used
your smart phone.
Only the important issue that you have to give a chance to stop notifications only if
he/she wants to stop it. It should be active as default at sales.
Secondly, you have to give a chance to your customer to select what type of news, blogs
that he/she wants to subscribe. So, during first setup of smartphone (I mean first time
holding and opening your phone) you have to ask to customer like choosing your
territory, he/she have to choose types of interest of the browser.
Profit with an alternate and in an easy way.
Strategy 2: Store advertisements (periodically send notifications on top of notification
bars and lock screen)
In lock screen and notification bar, you can offer;
-what’s hot todays
-daily special offers
-up and comings
-offers special for you
-editors choice…etc
Again, only the important issue that you have to give a
chance to stop notifications only if he/she wants to stop
it. It should be active as default at sales.
So, customer will feel comfortable and my brand doesn’t
push me to have them all.
Strategy 3: App advertisements (while opening of any app)
There is a chance to have a smart advertisement option.
This trick is created by Apple. Many of the manufacturers don’t understood it at first. I ain’t know that it’s
the right definition to it but it should be called as ‘App opening animation screen’. At the first version of
androids, apps tried to open incident. So, it occured bugs and so on. It took a long time to solve it in
android phones. But Apple act clever than others and creates like screen below. It works as if you click on
an app it opens on background but a screen welcomes you. So, customer feels it opens fast and smooth.
But this is a magic that Apple used. So, I don’t go further about that issue but I see big potential on it.
Manufacturers may use this screen for advertisements. You may ask how but let me brief at first. All apps
are based on main road. For Apple its iOS for others today it is Android. So, manufacturer will create a few
of template on this screen. App developers can design according to this. Manufacturer, rent the field to
app owners, they may create a good profit too.
But, there should be a standard that
customer can’t feel uncomfortable like PC
experience of Chrome. When you surf on
net, you will see all google ads in every
side of the page. That’s too bad for user
experience. But if it is made as
professional with a beautiful design with
a standard than it should be a well
experience on customer. Likewise; if you
tap to youtube app, then youtube share
you a few of ads for a few secs.
Again, you have to give a chance to
customer to stop it.
Strategy 4: Brand’s official apps for offering new staff to the users (which samsung
made in a good manner)
Have you used Galaxy Bizz? That is a nice opportunity to make a good profit in within
another method.
App belongs to SAMSUNG and they offer you;
-what’s hot todays
-daily special offers
-up and comings
-offers for your
-editors choice…etc in android market.
Its easy to use with a good design. It should be good opportunity to rest.
Strategy 5: Colored notifications by light
This strategy is directly related with design. In previous slayts the market focuses were
stated. This is a new window that the market have to look.
As it known, e-sport gaming market is a huge market. Millions of dolar manufacturers
share a part to invest in the market. The core idea of the market is design and
manufacture products related with PC-console gaming. So, how they success?
I don’t wanna give details that how market starts. But I want to brief that how market
is strong. Childs-youngs-teenages and even adults are all addicted to the market. The
e-sports powered after professional series in PC components. PC cases, keyboards,
mices, mice pads, headsets, ear pods and of course PC hardware. So, basically it starts
with performance series of hardware.
This will be a good opportunity to create a new market. Manufacturers may create a
new professional series of smartphones. Design can be referanced by gaming market
likewise colored light cover with light efects instead of smart aluminum covers. Also, if
manufacturer have a contract with PC gaming companies and create a few of alternate
series like korean manufacturers made it before. (Prada-Armani-Channel..etc. Now, it
may an e-sports series like CS:GO-Dota:2-Overwatch…)
I am totally convinced that this investment can create a huge market with a high profit
too. So, manufacturers can sponsor to e-sports teams widely create a good influence
on gaming customers. The market is running by word of mouth. Gamers are influenced
by professional players.
Here are a few of pics from gaming market:
Strategy 6: Selling additional gadgets near smartphone. (MINI’s strategy)
MINI is a successful brand that can create totally new lookup to automobile industry.
Instead of rest companies, MINI create a default design with outfit and let you to design every
single detail in the MINI cars. If you don’t like the default steering wheel so you have ability to
change it. If you dislike default console so you have a chance to change it… so on.
It’s too hard to create a design for smartphones to make same impact on customer. However,
there are two methods for it.
First one; changable back and front covers like NOKIA done it first years of 2000s.
Second one; manufacture sell a default device and accessories within the box and
but let customers options to buy alternative versions of equipments. Today, Hi-Fi sound,
better ear pods and headsets, smart cams, fast charges…etc are very popular.
For instance, Apple will sell a default device with standard lenses/cams, non-adaptive fast
charger, standard ear pods (or no ear pods in the box…) So, customer will buy a standard version
device and this lets Apple less investment due low cam- no ear pod, no fast charge due minimized
box. Therefore, customer will buy whatever he/she needs in the Apple Stores. Even if Apple sell
all in box device, customers always unsatisfied due quality of ear pods, cams, covers plates… They
change it after the owned the device. So, I did it too.
Here are a few of device examples can be referanced;
Strategy 7: Upgradable smartphone market (which will be marketing 2.0 for smartphones)
Although the idea is not new, I believe that in near future smartphone market will shape to this.
The general opinion is LG or Google who are the innovators of the idea made a huge mistake with design
and marketing strategy. Today, every manufacturer in smartphone industry know that LG have plenty of
problems in stability issue. Even the customers know that issue from blogs, forum sites.. So, with that
reputation and plenty of reasons rest you have no chance on having a good opportunity to have a success.
Design-stability and brand loyalty are very important in market. You will remember that Apple approved
that they lowerized the cpu performance periodically. But the way of saying that is very important. In
general manner, Apple stated that we made it due battery performance. You believe or not the truth is
they have an impact on performance so you gonna buy a new one within 2 years. That a horrible scenario
for customer but Apple users have no argue on that even if media be in a tight corner them. Nothing
happened. It may joke but the truth is this. Why? Cause Apple had a successful impact on their customer.
Even if they sell lowered hardware standards than competitors, they don’t care what rest done and they
do what they do. So, LG is not Apple or Samsung. On the other hand, Google smartphones are totally
something that a lot of customers who never want to try.
In order to have a success, It should be said that the way of going on success is very important. So,
LG and Google smartphones are not real deal to understand the market movements.
Let’s close up, to other markets and why they success.
Thermaltake-corsair-cool master-aero cool and so on are typically the brands who manufacture on
Desktop PC case market. Even if ASUS – MSI or rest in the market who sell all in one pc in the
market, they have well know reputation and valuable yearly profit. Customer own the case and fill
inside the case according to his need. This looks not fit to smartphone market. But, if you think a
second that if you own a smartphone from a manufacturer like Apple’s iPhone with a unique design
and think that customer can able to replace cpu-ram-battery (at this point hardware manufacturers
have to create unique boards that can be replaceable). This won’t kill the main sales strategy ‘ I
mean all in one device selling’- it just creates a total new market. Because, feel of owning older
device pushes to customers to buy new mobiles and also due the reason of scratches on screen-back
cover and side chromes will push to force a brand new phone. It only creates service sales strategy
on the smartmarket which will totally new. The main factor should be considered is phone design
shouldn’t feel customer like real android or transformer (like google’s revealed) . Human habits on
buying a thing like smartphone-car-house or clothes are directly related with design. Customer have
to feel that he own a smart design phone on his hand or staying on the desk. So, design is the most
important part of this.

‘Design Like an Italian, Trade Like a Jewish, Live Like an American, Work Like a
German and Make a Business Plan Like Japanese’

Smartphones Market New Marketing Opportunities

  • 3. A Short View To Market The smartphone is the most widely used mobile technology in the United States — as of 2018 (so we may say the same for rest of the world). 77% of U.S. adults own a smartphone, according to Pew Research Center. This let us swift and interconnected world. So, day by day it grows faster than before. Social media and other parameters also affect us to spend our time more than it before. Now, we are totally addicted to the market. Lets short lookup to the milestones of the market:
  • 4. So, it seems as three tech innovations are shifting mobile usage from now to near future. Which are; • Augmented reality (AR), • Virtual reality (VR) • Artificial intelligence (AI) voice assistants. As you can see its all about the physical&technological investment and innovations related with. All them affect the market and let us force to own it. I respect all that you done as strategies in the market. But, I saw a big short in the market too. All that pushes let end-user to feel un-confortable. I believe not so much people want to wear wearable technology in daily life. Will it? No, its not. Why: Answer is simple ‘Empathy’ I believe that empathy is the most important skill that a human or a company have to had. Let me brief what I want to tell: If a bank accounter calls you and say that ; we offer you a credit card that has limit ZZZZ dolars. You feel so uncomfortable, aren’t you? It’s just because in day life experience a person smother it alot. But, if you need a credit card and you go to a XXX bank and say that ‘I need a credit card with ZZZZ dolars’ than you never feel that feeling. On the other hand, if you had a well service while your appoval that means you want to work with that bank so long. That’s how we react as a human.
  • 5. Human acts are simple and clearly understandable. But, the way of global companies that they choosed are provocative. I mean forcing to buy new gadgets..etc. This does not make sense in a general manner. That creates more un-convinced and upset societies. What I want to offer you is tech firms like you have to start a new challange with less provocative but more profit. The main idea of that ‘Feel the need of owning’. I don’t declare that you haven’t any idea of that. Of course you had it already. But, what I want to tell you is after a good start of the idea at the begining you moved your focus directly to pushing/forcing market to own gadgets. I need a short brief in here: There were huge amount of brands with high profit sales till Apple’s iPod revealed. But, Apple’s iPod killed that market due innovative solutions without forcing people to own it. It was there and people wanted to own it due innovative skills of the product (touch roll bar:I mean circle, ease of use to shift in songs, making own lists in easy way, smart view and high quality sound frequency with a huge storage in side). So, design is good, price was affordable and ease of use. Thats all that a man in this world want to own. You feel like you owned a PORSCHE. One more example, till Apple’s iPhone all market declare that they manufacture the smart phones but it wasn’t. Cause, iPhone have the same idea with iPod: ease of use, an indisputable truth in innovations(apple store, galleries, mails, music…etc and a beatiful design that gave a shape in the market.
  • 6. Now, market totally far away that idea. The idea totally changed due several reasons in the market and market focused on; • Megapixels improvements • Technical spec improvements (ram, internal memories…etc) • Gorilla Glass Tech • Retina/Amoled Screens • Higher screen sizes • Stylus/iPencil • Metal back surface • First foot steps of AI: Siri/ Ok google • Wearable Technologies • Wireless Charge • Dual Cam (mono-chrome, colored) • AR,VR and AI • Technical spec improvements (ram, internal memories…etc) again • Mirror Backside…etc *Also fast connection, better Wi-Fi, 3g-3.5g-4G-5g All of them are the tip of the iceberg. On the otherhand, there are a few of big short in the market. So, check what they are.

Now, let’s close glance on the silent grow of the revenue in the market which are Apple Store and Google Play: • Apple's App Store Generated Over $11 Billion In Revenue For The Company Last Year (see here) • Apple App Store Generated Double The Revenue Than Google Play Store In 1h 2018 (see here) So shortly, there are huge markets grow extraordinary. At this point I have plenty of strategies for Marketing of smartphone brands, which are: 1. Browser advertisements 2. Store advertisements 3. App advertisements 4. Brand’s official apps for offering new staff to the users 5. Colored design by light and lighting effects 6. Selling additional gadgets near smartphone. (MINI’s strategy) 7. Upgradable smartphone market (which will be marketing 2.0 for smartphones) ‘I meaned service sales in the market’

Strategy 1:Browser advertisements (periodically send notifications on top of notification bars and lock screen) With your own browser (not Chrome), you can make a huge profit while you are sharing a few of notifications during the day. Sharing news daily, whats hot today..etc you can take advertisements and publish directly with all account who used your smart phone. Only the important issue that you have to give a chance to stop notifications only if he/she wants to stop it. It should be active as default at sales. Secondly, you have to give a chance to your customer to select what type of news, blogs that he/she wants to subscribe. So, during first setup of smartphone (I mean first time holding and opening your phone) you have to ask to customer like choosing your territory, he/she have to choose types of interest of the browser. Profit with an alternate and in an easy way.

Strategy 2: Store advertisements (periodically send notifications on top of notification bars and lock screen) In lock screen and notification bar, you can offer; -what’s hot todays -daily special offers -up and comings -offers special for you -editors choice…etc Again, only the important issue that you have to give a chance to stop notifications only if he/she wants to stop it. It should be active as default at sales. So, customer will feel comfortable and my brand doesn’t push me to have them all.
  • 10. Strategy 3: App advertisements (while opening of any app) There is a chance to have a smart advertisement option. This trick is created by Apple. Many of the manufacturers don’t understood it at first. I ain’t know that it’s the right definition to it but it should be called as ‘App opening animation screen’. At the first version of androids, apps tried to open incident. So, it occured bugs and so on. It took a long time to solve it in android phones. But Apple act clever than others and creates like screen below. It works as if you click on an app it opens on background but a screen welcomes you. So, customer feels it opens fast and smooth. But this is a magic that Apple used. So, I don’t go further about that issue but I see big potential on it. Manufacturers may use this screen for advertisements. You may ask how but let me brief at first. All apps are based on main road. For Apple its iOS for others today it is Android. So, manufacturer will create a few of template on this screen. App developers can design according to this. Manufacturer, rent the field to app owners, they may create a good profit too. But, there should be a standard that customer can’t feel uncomfortable like PC experience of Chrome. When you surf on net, you will see all google ads in every side of the page. That’s too bad for user experience. But if it is made as professional with a beautiful design with a standard than it should be a well experience on customer. Likewise; if you tap to youtube app, then youtube share you a few of ads for a few secs. Again, you have to give a chance to customer to stop it.
  • 11. Strategy 4: Brand’s official apps for offering new staff to the users (which samsung made in a good manner) Have you used Galaxy Bizz? That is a nice opportunity to make a good profit in within another method. App belongs to SAMSUNG and they offer you; -what’s hot todays -daily special offers -up and comings -offers for your -editors choice…etc in android market. Its easy to use with a good design. It should be good opportunity to rest.
  • 12. Strategy 5: Colored notifications by light This strategy is directly related with design. In previous slayts the market focuses were stated. This is a new window that the market have to look. As it known, e-sport gaming market is a huge market. Millions of dolar manufacturers share a part to invest in the market. The core idea of the market is design and manufacture products related with PC-console gaming. So, how they success? I don’t wanna give details that how market starts. But I want to brief that how market is strong. Childs-youngs-teenages and even adults are all addicted to the market. The e-sports powered after professional series in PC components. PC cases, keyboards, mices, mice pads, headsets, ear pods and of course PC hardware. So, basically it starts with performance series of hardware. This will be a good opportunity to create a new market. Manufacturers may create a new professional series of smartphones. Design can be referanced by gaming market likewise colored light cover with light efects instead of smart aluminum covers. Also, if manufacturer have a contract with PC gaming companies and create a few of alternate series like korean manufacturers made it before. (Prada-Armani-Channel..etc. Now, it may an e-sports series like CS:GO-Dota:2-Overwatch…)
  • 13. I am totally convinced that this investment can create a huge market with a high profit too. So, manufacturers can sponsor to e-sports teams widely create a good influence on gaming customers. The market is running by word of mouth. Gamers are influenced by professional players.   • 14. Strategy 6: Selling additional gadgets near smartphone. (MINI’s strategy) MINI is a successful brand that can create totally new lookup to automobile industry. Instead of rest companies, MINI create a default design with outfit and let you to design every single detail in the MINI cars. If you don’t like the default steering wheel so you have ability to change it. If you dislike default console so you have a chance to change it… so on. It’s too hard to create a design for smartphones to make same impact on customer. However, there are two methods for it. First one; changable back and front covers like NOKIA done it first years of 2000s. Second one; manufacture sell a default device and accessories within the box and but let customers options to buy alternative versions of equipments. Today, Hi-Fi sound, better ear pods and headsets, smart cams, fast charges…etc are very popular. For instance, Apple will sell a default device with standard lenses/cams, non-adaptive fast charger, standard ear pods (or no ear pods in the box…) So, customer will buy a standard version device and this lets Apple less investment due low cam- no ear pod, no fast charge due minimized box. Therefore, customer will buy whatever he/she needs in the Apple Stores. Even if Apple sell all in box device, customers always unsatisfied due quality of ear pods, cams, covers plates… They change it after the owned the device. So, I did it too.

  • 16. Strategy 7: Upgradable smartphone market (which will be marketing 2.0 for smartphones) Although the idea is not new, I believe that in near future smartphone market will shape to this. The general opinion is LG or Google who are the innovators of the idea made a huge mistake with design and marketing strategy. Today, every manufacturer in smartphone industry know that LG have plenty of problems in stability issue. Even the customers know that issue from blogs, forum sites.. So, with that reputation and plenty of reasons rest you have no chance on having a good opportunity to have a success. Design-stability and brand loyalty are very important in market. You will remember that Apple approved that they lowerized the cpu performance periodically. But the way of saying that is very important. In general manner, Apple stated that we made it due battery performance. You believe or not the truth is they have an impact on performance so you gonna buy a new one within 2 years. That a horrible scenario for customer but Apple users have no argue on that even if media be in a tight corner them. Nothing happened. It may joke but the truth is this. Why? Cause Apple had a successful impact on their customer. Even if they sell lowered hardware standards than competitors, they don’t care what rest done and they do what they do. So, LG is not Apple or Samsung. On the other hand, Google smartphones are totally something that a lot of customers who never want to try.
  • 17. In order to have a success, It should be said that the way of going on success is very important. So, LG and Google smartphones are not real deal to understand the market movements. Let’s close up, to other markets and why they success. Thermaltake-corsair-cool master-aero cool and so on are typically the brands who manufacture on Desktop PC case market. Even if ASUS – MSI or rest in the market who sell all in one pc in the market, they have well know reputation and valuable yearly profit. Customer own the case and fill inside the case according to his need. This looks not fit to smartphone market. But, if you think a second that if you own a smartphone from a manufacturer like Apple’s iPhone with a unique design and think that customer can able to replace cpu-ram-battery (at this point hardware manufacturers have to create unique boards that can be replaceable). This won’t kill the main sales strategy ‘ I mean all in one device selling’- it just creates a total new market. Because, feel of owning older device pushes to customers to buy new mobiles and also due the reason of scratches on screen-back cover and side chromes will push to force a brand new phone. It only creates service sales strategy on the smartmarket which will totally new. The main factor should be considered is phone design shouldn’t feel customer like real android or transformer (like google’s revealed) . Human habits on buying a thing like smartphone-car-house or clothes are directly related with design. Customer have to feel that he own a smart design phone on his hand or staying on the desk. So, design is the most important part of this.
