This document provides instructions for cord blood genetics testing specimen collection. It states that cord blood will be collected from patients referred from the Perinatal Program or babies with known anomalies. The red and pink tubes are sent to the blood bank, while the purple and green striped tubes go to the NICU/Peds after delivery. Nurses are notified about scheduled cord blood collections and must gather the correct supplies, including green striped sodium heparin tubes from the soiled utility room. The tubes are correctly labeled and sent to the appropriate locations for processing.
