- 7. 62% of young women do not see themselves staying in the GIS industry for more than ten years, this is related to the fact that at management level women are outnumbered four to one.
- 8. Questions to ponder….. Why did I chose this industry to work in? What pathways in my career led me to the position I am in today? Who has positively helped you in your career to get you where you are today? What actions did they undertake and can others do the same to help encourage/promote women in the industry? Given that I am now in a position in the industry of influence. What do I feel are the actions I can take to positively improve diversity in the industry? What would be the career advice I would give to my self when I was finishing secondary schooling?
