5. A typical day on tour
• Academic content similar to a school day
• Morning session is usually a guided site or museum visit

• The safety and security of our groups is our number one priority
• Academy Travel monitors travel advice provided by the Australian
Government (DFAT) daily
• Should a travel advisory to a destination change, amendments will be made
to the itinerary
• Travel advisories are provided on the Smart Traveller website
• Academy Travel registers all participants with DFAT through Smart Traveller
• We also have a comprehensive risk management plan that covers all
potential scenarios that is provided to the school

• April is spring in Europe and temperatures will be mild
• In Italy, expect 10-20°C
• In Germany, between 5-15°C
• This is a guide only and in reality temperatures may be very

• Our preferred international airlines for this tour are Emirates,
Singapore Airlines, Etihad Airways and Cathay Pacific
• International flights are released 11 months prior to
departure date
• Internal European flights are booked with local operators
based on schedules and reliability
• All flight details are provided in final documentation
55. Accommodation
• All hotels are in secure locations and have been inspected by
Academy Travel staff
• Generally 3-star quality hotels booked after the confirmation
of the tour
• Our preference is for a central location, near to public
transport or within walking distance of sights
• We do not use hostels or camping ground facilities
• Students in multi-share rooms with private bathroom facilities
• All hotels offer free wi-fi – reliability can be variable
• All hotels details are advised in final documentation

conditions or additional travel)
• Any required visa for non-Australian passport holders
62. Practical information
Tour cost: $6,250.00 per student, multi-share
Bookings due: Friday 11th May 2018
• Final pricing dependant on number of passengers, airfares and exchange
rates
• We require a $500 deposit, completed booking form and passport copy
(or birth certificate) returned to the school to confirm your place
• Deposits are non-refundable once tour is confirmed
63. Booking terms and conditions
• Deposits are non-refundable once the tour has been confirmed
• Cancellation fees apply within 60 days of departure
• There are no refunds for any unused portions of the tour
• A current passport with 6 months validity from return date to Australia is
required for travel
• Visas for non-Australian passport holders may be required for travel and it is
the responsibility of the traveler to obtain any required visas
• If the tour price needs to change due to numbers, airfares or exchange rates,
participants will be informed in writing and able to withdraw
• Itineraries may need to change from what is originally advertised and hotels,
airlines, activities and cities may be altered with agreement between
Academy Travel and the school
• A final itinerary is provided to participants 3-4 weeks prior to departure at a
pre-departure meeting
64. What happens now?
Decide you want to participate and return your documents to
the school by the due date!
• Booking forms will then be forwarded to Academy Travel for processing
and $500 deposit becomes non-refundable
• Welcome pack sent to you from Academy Travel
• The school will provide details of remaining payment
• Pre-departure briefing held March 2019
