Benefits of Open Educational Resources  Cost savings to the district and students  Gives all students equal opportunity, students in low income communities can have access to lectures and videos for free  Helps with recruitment, due to lower student cost  No copyright issues  Instructor can customize the lessons to fit the course 2
Challenges of Open Educational Resources  Time consuming to comb through all the information to find what you are looking for  Materials I found for my classes seemed to be out of date  Have to judge the accuracy/ quality of the resources  Wi-Fi access and strength of Wi-Fi  Need to be comfortable with technology 3
