September, 1939.
This war started when the german soldiers
attacked a polish city called Wielun and
they destroyed the 75% of the town.
5. When the Nazis came to power in Germany in
1933, Jews were living in every country of
Europe,
and the largest
jewish
populations
were
concentrated in
eastern Europe.
6. Jews from eastern
Europe lived
separated from the
rest of the people.
They talked their
own language, the
yiddish, and they
had a normal life.
7. The holocaust is a massive massacre of jewish
people and it happened in countries
occupated by the germans.
This plan was
came up by
Adolf Hitler
and Heinrich
Himmler.
8. The Nazis killed more than 6,000,000 Jews.
These people died in horrible situations, like in
the gas chambers
They also were
hanged, or they died
by gunshots,
starvation, forced
work or hits from
the German soldiers.
9. Many countries and people helped Jews to scape
from The Holocaust. For example:
Pope Pius XII opened the
sanctuaries of the Vatican to
Rome's Jews during the Nazi
roundup, and he ordered to
protect them in every church of
Europe
10. Oskar Schindler: He was a
business owner, who
helped more tan 1200 Jews
from the gas chambers.
Irena Sendler: She was a
polish nurse who saved
2500 jewish children
from the Jewish ghetto
in Varsovia.
11. At the end of the war, jewish people had a
difficult situattion.
They couldn’t return to
their homes, because
most of them were
plundered, or ocupated
by other people.
12. They were also in danger because in many towns
of Poland there were anti-Semitic disturbances.
But not all were bad,
a lot of jews were moved
to other countries,
like the United States.
