Fear of man refers to elevating other people's opinions of oneself above what a higher power thinks. It stems from a lack of understanding of one's authentic self and strong roots in who they are. Fear of man causes people to act differently than normal, such as becoming intimidated by powerful figures like the President, in order to make a good impression. Overcoming fear of man involves living truthfully, kindly, and fearlessly, and realizing that the fear is based on lies and distortions rather than reality.

Fear of Man
1. Fear of Man
What is the difference between respect and fear in
reference to man?
RESPECT is when you see yourself as equally important as the person standing
beside you.
FEAR is the elevation of that same person to a place where you begin to feel
inadequate.
Through my experiences, I feel there is one fear that has the ability to transform our
authentic self-confidence. It is referred to as the, “fear of man”. The fear that is
created when we don’t have a strong root system tied to who we truly are.
Be truthful: If the President of the United States of America showed up at your
doorstep to engage in a thoughtful conversation, would you act differently? Would
you perhaps be a bit intimidated? It might even be so powerful that you may
completely change the person you want him to think you really are.
The reason may be because you wanted to make a good impression, an intelligent
and informed impression. It may be because he is thought to be the most powerful
man in the world! That very second, when you decided to elevate him over yourself
is, “the fear of man”.
Essentially what you have just done is, elevate someone else’s opinion of you above
what your higher power thinks of you.
You were created and designed to be unlike anyone else. Authentic, different, unique,
whatever the word you decide to use, you were made for a purpose. It is easy to fall
victim to the “fear of man” when we don’t truly understand who we are as an
individual.
2. It has taken me the better part of my life to realize that everything I went through
prior to becoming who I am today, was for a reason. A uniquely designed plan that
has shown me how to respect myself and others.
When you misperceive your equals as better than you, you begin to show them the
wrong kind of respect. You start to see yourself as nothing compared to them. You
will remain here, unless…
You begin to live in a manner that is TRUTHFUL, KIND,
AND FEARLESS!
It is my hope for you that you will one day be able to realize that that fear is a
collection of self-distortions and lies. That is all that remains between you and your
dreams!
