College completed I interviewed with Speed Queen for a Factory Representative position, after the interview I was asked
to take a position as Executive Management Trainee (only two others in company's history). Concluding work in this position,
I moved on into banking.
Hired by The First National Bank of Moorhead as head of Marketing and Public Relations. My first promotion shut down traffic
and police officers had to come and set up road blocks as they directed traffic to the bank.
Dick Herbst of KVOX radio asked me to join his sales team. I did. I was given a few good accounts but was expected to
develop more. The first sales contest I participated in I won over long standing sales reps. with established, large accounts. I did
this by conceiving a completely different approach to sales. My experience at KVOX has given me insight into the use of
advertising media.
Served as Senior Pastor for several congregations, one was Peace Lutheran in Hutchinson, at the time its membership was
2,400 members. Parish work has given me unsurpassed experience working with people, committees, and administration as I
served in leadership positions as Senior Pastor for 36 years in the church. I have been the monthly editor to the District news
for 27 years.
Published eight books and served as editor for the Monthly District News for over 25 years. Presently retired, but
remain outstandingly energized & creative, very seldom thinking in the box. Prior to entering college during my high school
years I worked at Gary's Radio and TV, an appliance store, and for two years I clerked at a hardware store.
Raised in Lithfield MN, and after my time in the business community, I served as Senior Pastor to large and larger parishes.
Last parish served had built a large new addition. A debt of over 10 million dollars had been acquired by the 900 member
parish. When I left the parish was debt free. Served as General Contractor for two homes I built doing much of the work
myself. Blessed with five grown children.

and attaining the ability with people as I serve and motivate.
As I have served as Senior Pastor to large and larger parishes. My last parish had built a large new addition, remodeled
the old addition, added air conditioning and new heating, etc. A debt of over 10 million dollars had been acquired by the
900 member parish. When I left the parish was debt free.
To be brief: In 1969 served as Producer of Student Productions, Concordia College, MN and I took the organization from
the red into the black and brought in such big name groups as Blood, Sweat and Tears, The Association, and The Friends of
Distinction.
After graduation I was hired by McGraw Edison into its Executive Management Program, one of three in the Division's
history.
Trained in personnel, recruitment, product management, and manufacturing, Material Management, RND.
Then came the crash of the 70s and I went back to Moorhead and worked at The First National Bank of Moorhead.
My position was Officer of Customer Relations and Marketing.
Distinguished for putting together the promotion to open our new branch that on the last day police had to direct traffic and
put up roadblocks to handle the volume of traffic coming to the bank.
After this promotion Dick Herbst of KVOX radio asked me to join his sales team.
I was given a few good accounts but was expected to develop more.
The first sales contest I participated in I won over long standing sales reps with established, large accounts.
I did this by conceiving a completely different approach to sales.
Usually a sales rep tries to figure out how much of the financial pie of the client goes into advertising and tries to get as
much of that sum of money as possible.
I on the other hand went for results for my clients. I recommended a mix of radio, newspaper, and TV.
It paid off and I. Concluding sales for KVOX I was admitted to Luther Northwestern Seminary, St. Paul MN.
