Market Research Library Manager, Jan 1998 – Present
Epson America’s Market Research Library serves eight different business units in the Americas,
providing for a diverse population with a heavy concentration of Latin and Asian users. As the
corporate library manager, I handle reference requests, provide in-depth research, work on team
projects, deal with vendor and contract negotiations, locate, vet, and procure new resources, maintain
online databases, create learning and training materials and teach clients how to use systems to find
information. The primary goal of the Market Research Library is to manage and maintain all company-
owned information assets, including proprietary research, syndicated data and all electronic files and
content for Epson America.
• Manage daily library operations including, budgeting, planning, research, reference requests and
end user instruction
• Perform extensive reference interviews to best determine needed information, budget and resource
availability including data sources, analysts, and available research
• Partner with clients to best understand research needs and applications, search standard reference
materials, including multiple online sources, i.e., Gartner, IDC, Forrester, and others depending on
the research need
• Provide training for online library catalog, data sources, statistics, market research and business
information sources
• Maintain online systems, information resources, and archiving processes.
• Track and distribute 30+ weekly newsletter data sources for various project groups
• Quantify resource usage and statistics
• Review and evaluate materials, vis a vis subject experts, end user recommendations, and current
holdings, negotiate contracts and order resources
• Create subject bibliographies based on product lines
• Plan, contribute and publish the quarterly newsletter for the Market Research Department
• Worked on a Six Sigma project team to streamline project management education
• Designed and populated a cloud-based information storage and retrieval system using the EOS
System, a division of SirsiDinex for domestic and international usage
• Developed and implemented corporate procedures for collecting, organizing, interpreting, and
classifying information based on the Library of Congress Cataloging model
2. UCLA
National EMSC Resource Coordinator & Lecturer, Jan 1992 – May 1997
Ran UCLA’s national clearinghouse for Pediatric Emergency Medical information. Traveled and lectured
extensively on technology, and the changing role of information access for pediatric emergency medicine. Key
target audiences included pediatric and ER fellows, Doctors, Nurses, State EMS Directors, key government
officials and local communities. Created the first national EMSC website.
• Created and maintained the National EMSC related health education library
• Provided EMSC educational materials to the professional medical sector and distributed health
education materials, reports, curricula, slide sets, and brochures
• Designed and programmed the first Pediatric EMSC related website for the Federal Government
agencies MCHB and NHTSA
• Traveled extensively with Emergency Physicians and Nurse Practitioners to lecture and conduct
workshops on Technology and EMSC resources available
• Wrote annual grant and participated in annual grant review process
• Produced an annual hardcopy catalog of all EMSC materials available
• Served a culturally diverse population at Harbor UCLA
• Photographed slide sets from actual ER cases to educate about high-risk populations
• Managed a staff of full-time, part-time and at-risk high school interns
