Fragrance
Italian fragrance company ITF is launching a new
fragrance duo for Trussardi this spring.TrussardiAWay
for Her is a woody,fruity oriental women’s EdT,which was
composed by Symrise perfumers Lucas Sieuzac and David
Appel.TrussardiAWay for Him is a fresh,woody oriental
EdT and was created byAlexandra Kosinski
from Givaudan.
Both fragrances come in glass bottles with an
aluminum shell—gold for her and silver for him—and
featureTrussardi’s signature greyhound logo.

France-based Interparfums is looking to build a new fragrance pillar with the
launch of its first line for fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.Interparfums chairman
and ceo Philippe Benacin told BW Confidential that he was aiming for €60-€70m
in sales for the line in its first year.
The men and women’s duo,called simply Karl Lagerfeld,is intended to be a more
upscale offer than the designer’s previous scents.“We needed to have a more
luxury line than what was done before—luxury,but with a rock and roll touch to
differentiate it from other brands in the market,”Benacin explained.(Lagerfeld’s
fragrance license was formerly held by Coty.)
The women’s fragrance was composed by Christine Nagel and Serge Majoullier
from Mane,while the men’s scent was created by IFF’s Jean Christophe Herault.
The launch will be supported by a print ad campaign,shot by Lagerfeld,and a
digital campaign that includes downloadable Lagerfeld emoticons.

Paco Rabanne is gearing up to launch
what it calls the second chapter in its Lady
Million franchise.Called Eau My Gold!,
the new scent is described as evoking a
new facet of the Lady Million fragrance,
which launched in 2010.
The fruity floral fragrance was
composed byAnne Flipo of IFF,who
also created the original Lady Million
scent.As with Lady Million,the new
scent comes in a bottle meant to
resemble a cut diamond.
The fragrance will be backed by an ad
campaign featuring Czech model Hana
Jirickova bathing in a glass of champagne.

France-based Interparfums is launching its second
men’s fragrance for luxury pen brand Montblanc,
called Emblem,in May.“The idea for this
fragrance was to take on the codes of the
brand’s Meisterstück pen,”says Interparfums
chairman and ceo Philippe Benacin.
The fragrance comes in a black sculpted bottle
with six sides reflecting the Montblanc logo.It
was composed by Sonia Constant of Givaudan
and is described as a sensual woody scent.
Montblanc’s first men’s fragrance created by
Interparfums,Legend (which launched in 2011),
is now the company’s top scent in terms of
volume and sales.

2. La Prairie is adding Cellular Radiance Night Cream,an
intensive nighttime treatment,to its Cellular Radiance line.
The night cream contains caprooyl tetrapeptide-3,tripeptide-1
and wild yam,rye seed and papaya extracts. According to
the company,the formula’s active ingredients help maintain
cohesion among skin proteins such as collagen,elastin,
fibronectin and laminin,reduce the appearance of wrinkles
and improve skin clarity.

Lancôme (L’Oréal) is launching a new CC cream this spring.
City Miracle CC Cream is an SPF50 light coverage cream that the
company says helps defend skin from the hazards of urban life,such
as pollution,sun,stress and lack of sleep.According to Lancôme,the
cream evens out skin tone,moisturizes,provides UV protection and
minimizes shine.Anti-pollution ingredient Detoxyl is also said to prevent
microparticles from penetrating the skin’s surface.The cream comes in
three shades.
Also new from Lancôme this spring is CilsTint,a semi-permanent lash
tint that the company claims colors lashes for 72 hours.The product’s
liquid,wax-free formula has the texture of thick ink and contains three
times the amount of black pigment found in traditional mascara.

Estée Lauder is to launch Micro
Essence SkinActivatingTreatment
Lotion,an“essence-in-lotion”that
contains a micro-nutrient bio-ferment,
which the company says was inspired
by extremophiles—organisms that
are able to repair their own cellular
damage through micronutrients and
peptides.First launched in China last
December,the lotion,which contains a
blend of micronutrients,peptides and
ferments,was originally designed for
Asian skin and is said to strengthen the
skin’s barrier,calm irritation,provide
skin with energy and intensify moisture.

Givenchy is launching a new mascara
and eyeliner.Mascara Noir CoutureVolume
mascara features a curved wand that is
intended to separate the lashes and provide
the right dose of formula,while giving a
volume effect.The mascara is said to have
treatment-like properties,which protect
and add density to the lashes.The eyeliner,
called Liner Couture,has a fine tip,which
the brand says allows for an ultra precise
application.

Estée Lauder-owned Clinique is launching Clinical Clearing Gel,a gel that it
claims is as effective in treating and preventing acne as topical prescription acne
treatments.Clinique says the 4-in-1 gel,which is applied after cleansing and
before moisturizing,uses salicylic acid and marine-based ingredients to clear
away dead skin cells,limit sebum overproduction,soothe irritated skin and reduce
redness.The product is part of the brand’sAnti-Blemish Solutions line.
Clinique is also adding a liquid make-up foundation and clearing concealer to
the range,both of which contain ingredients to target acne and regulate sebum

LVMH-owned Make Up For Ever is
relaunching its eyeshadow lineArtist Shadow,
in celebration of the brand’s 30th anniversary.
The revamped line consists of 210 skus and
has either“pearly” or matte formulas.The
eyeshadows’ formula has been reworked to
includeWater-BlendTechnology,a production
process that uses a dispersion method to create
what the brand says is a highly pigmented,
smoother and easier to blend eyeshadow.
Make Up For Ever has also created a new
ad campaign for its anniversary that launches
in June.It features a model“clothed”only in

Beauty brand Clarins is introducing a new summer make-
up collection,called Colours of Brazil.The limited-edition
range includes a 12-hour waterproof mascara that claims
to protect lashes from moisture,seawater,pool water and
the sun;a bronzing powder in compact form;a wet and
dry eyeshadow and cream eyeliner collection in shades
of beige,coral,brown and electric blue;and lip balm
crayons containing mango,apricot and shea butter.
The crayons come in six shades,including“My Pink”,
which reacts to lip pH levels,and creates a unique color for
each individual.
Colours of Brazil also features a face and body oil that the
company says contains“fine,golden pearls”to enhance summer tans.
