Wilkinson Star
The Client
Wilkinson Star is a leading importer and distributor of welding machines, based in Worsley,
near Manchester. The company also runs the Wilkinson Welding Academy, a state of the art
welding technology centre established to provide specialist training to the welding industry.
Our Brief
Wilkinson Star has been a mailroom customer of Franking Sense for more than 10 years. In February 2016, they
contacted us to look at their printers and copiers as they wanted to improve their equipment to bring some
outsourced marketing in house and replace their existing copiers and printers. They had a current supplier for a long
time but felt that they were paying too much and wanted a trusted supplier who could provide better equipment
under better terms.
Proposal
After thorough consultation, on-site surveys and visits from
both our Service and Technical teams, it was agreed that
Franking Sense would supply a total of nine machines across
two sites, including a PROC5100 production printer, along with
MPC2003ZSP and MPC306ZSP MFDs.

“Our print solutions contract was approaching renewal and
after receiving a quotation from our supplier of over 10 years
we decided to look at other options available in the market.
As we had always had a good relationship with Nationwide
Franking Sense for our mailroom requirements we invited
them in to discuss their products and services.
As well as refreshing our office multifunction devices we were also looking to address new requirements in our
expanding Marketing Department. Mark and Daniel took the time to discuss our requirements thoroughly and
whilst we wanted a like for like quotation to compare with our existing supplier they also submitted their own
recommendations based on their understanding of our current requirements. Their proposal was a much better fit
for us and was extremely competitive. Our new equipment was installed in June by Dan Wilkinson and the service
could not have been better, he was extremely professional and knowledgeable and the installation was carried out
with minimal disruption to the business. Our Marketing Department are delighted with the PROC5100 production
printer and Fiery controller and are now printing high quality literature which would have previously been
outsourced. The training they received was excellent and they know that they can call the technical engineers for
help at any time. Nationwide Franking Sense offer high quality print products backed by a professional, friendly
service and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them.”
