EXPECTED SERVICES TOWARDS
ESHDC HOME OWNERSHIP
EDUCATION
Financial Education Is an 8 week
program that will address the following to
help individuals gain control of their
finances.
Money Management
Identifies your spending leaks and triggers, goal
setting, also using role playing and class
discussion will help sort financial options
Credit
Learn to improve your credit score and find out
how to obtain a copy of your credit report.
Saving and Investing
Learn to explore certificate of deposit (CD), money
market, and mutual funds. (You don’t have to have
a lot of money to have a savings plan.)
Banking
Obtain a copy of your CHEX SYSTEMS REPORT.
Learn how to balance your checkbook, and how to
open a checking account if you were stopped by
CHEX SYSTEMS in the past
ESSENTIAL LIFE SKILLS
TRAINING
Computer Basics
4 week class for beginners or people looking to
brush up their computer skills.
Microsoft Office
8 week class, learn how to use Microsoft Office:
Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
Job Prep & Soft Skills
6 week class that provides training in skills
necessary to obtain and retain employment,
including communication, dress for success, and
interview skills.

aging neighborhoods, pave powerful
pathways out of poverty for very low-
income families and assist low to
moderate income working families

FUTURE PROGRAMS &
SERVICES
Family Services complements
its affordable housing with a
wide array of critical services so
that families can become self-
sufficient and successful
homeowners.
-Family Support Specialists:
Provides In-depth Case Management,
Community Resource and Referral,
Employment Assistance, Financial
Education & Mentoring, Government
Benefits Advocacy.
-Homelessness Prevention:
ESHDC provides a critical safety net
for families to prevent eviction and
possible homelessness. ESHDC
residents can access emergency rent
and utility assistance to help them
weather the crisis and remain on track
for homeownership.
-Transitional Housing Program:
ESHDC provides up to five families
with housing and intensive supportive
services for up to two years. During
their stay, families must meet regularly
with the Family Support Specialist to
work on an individual goal plan to
address the issues and barriers they
have to self-sufficiency so that
homelessness can be prevented in the
future.
