iPhone App Developers Gear Up for Demand Surge
According to recent findings from a survey by market research firm Nielsen, the iPhone has
seen a significant rise in consumer purchases in Q4/2011. iPhone developers are equipped
to deliver new apps for new users and newer use cases.
Propelled by the launch of Apple’s iPhone 4S in the fall of 2011, 44.5 percent of those
surveyed in December said they chose an iPhone, compared to just 25.1 per cent in
October.
Nielsen’s “State of the Media: The Mobile Media Report” provides a snapshot of the current
mobile media landscape and audiences in the US and highlights the potential power of
mobile commerce in the near future.
With the release of the iPhone 4S in mid-October, total iPhone sales stood at about 39 per
cent of all smartphone users. By December, 44.5 percent were going with Apple’s handsets.
Get in touch with an iPhone app development company with skilled and experienced iPhone
app programmer teams. iPhone app development companies develop custom iPhone
applications that make a positive impact on performance. Mobile applications development
for the iPhone, iPod Touch and the iPad is among the fastest growing services. The expert
iPhone developer and iPhone app programmer at are your assurance of quality and
commitment.
In the fourth quarter of 2011, an average of 46 per cent of mobile customers owned a
smartphone. Among recent mobile customers, 60 per cent preferred a smartphone over a
feature phone.
Key findings of the Nielsen Report
The majority of 25-34 and 18-24 year olds now own smartphones (64% and 53%
respectively)
The majority of smartphone owners (62%) have downloaded apps on their devices
and games are the top application category used in the past 30 days
The number of smartphone subscribers using the mobile Internet has grown 45
percent since 2010
87 percent of app downloaders (those who have downloaded an app in the past 30
days) have used deal-of-the-day websites like Groupon or Living Social
Younger groups text the most. In Q3, teens 13-17 sent and received the most text
messages (an average of 3,417 each month)
Smart Apps for Smartphones
A smartphone is only as smart as its installed apps. iPhone app development is all about
helping us save time and work smarter. Developers may not run out of ideas for new apps or
improving existing ones. However, ideas are not infinite and developers will also focus on
making apps more effective, efficient and intuitive.
According to recent findings from a survey by market research firm Nielsen, the iPhone has
seen a significant rise in consumer purchases in Q4/2011. iPhone developers are equipped
to deliver new apps for new users and newer use cases. Propelled by the launch of Apple’s
iPhone 4S in the fall of 2011, 44.5 percent of those surveyed in December said they chose
an iPhone, compared to just 25.1 per cent in October.
The iPhone 4 comes with powerful built-in features for business. Multitasking helps run more
than one business app at the same time and instantly switch between apps. FaceTime can
facilitate video calls among employees and colleagues. Folders keep all business apps
organised. The new powerful email features viewing mails from all accounts in a unified
inbox, viewing threaded messages by subject and switching between accounts. The Retina
display significantly enhances user experience across applications.
iPhone App Developer services include rich iPhone and iPad applications with LBS / GPS
features, augmented reality, mobile interactivity and user interface design for clients across
the world. iPhone programmers implement cutting edge technologies, including bar code
readers and camera-integration in mobile applications. iPhone app programmers implement,
maintain and support Java backend systems for the iPhone. iPhone programmers also port
iPhone applications on to other platforms such as the Android and vice-versa.
Where Do We Stand?
As of the turn of the year, one million apps exist for smartphones, with about two thousand
new mobile apps being added every day. According to analyst company Mobilewalla,
Apple's App Store now has 590,138 smartphone apps for iOS devices. Taken across all
platforms, the top categories of mobile apps are: Entertainment 16.68% Games 13.36%
Books 10.21% Lifestyle 8.02% Utilities 7.13% Education 7.08% Travel 4.84% Business
3.76% Reference 3.73% Music 3.32% Health & Fitness 3.28% Productivity 3.09% Sports
2.92% News 2.85% Social Networking 2.71%.
Where Do We Find Great Apps?
Smartphone users like to download new mobile apps and smartphone games all the time.
Discovering new phone apps that are really worthwhile is not that much fun, though. Taylor
Martin on phoneDog recently gave some tips on discovering apps. When you open App
Store from an iOS device, you are instantly met with suggested apps, multiple top categories
and usually something along the lines of "Editor's Picks." Obviously, this is where you will
find the most popular and sometimes the best of the best mobile apps. With iOS, Martin says
he uses an app called App Shopper. In essence, it's an electronic sales paper for the App
Store. It's just a front for the App Store that displays all of the recent and ongoing price
changes. For example, Great Little War Game, which usually runs for $2.99, is currently free
in the App Store. So for the time being, it's displayed on the third page of App Shopper's
website. If you click the "Buy Now" button in App Shopper, it takes you straight to the
corresponding page in the App Store. In addition to App Shopper, though, he has used
AppMatrix and Yahoo! AppSpot. However, he prefers to stick to App Shopper to catch the
best apps when they're on sale. He also wrote that when looking for an application with a
specific function, he generally asks on Twitter first.
