Soil erosion and contamination of the water table are some effects (Rich, 1999) that have direct impacts on humans. This is particularly alarming
because Brazil's burgeoning population has spread farther and farther into previously uninhabited territories, and clean water is not available in many
communities (Rich, 1999). As we all learned in earth science class, an absence of trees negatively impacts nature's ability to recycle water effectively.
Trees acts as filters and oxygenators; when they are not present, they cannot perform this vital function. The problems that humans have created then

Pollution With A Solution Although environmental pollution has existed for centuries, it has become a greater issue with the mass production of cars,
plastic based products, and the burning of fossil fuels. With the use of hybrid or fuel efficient cars, proper disposal of garbage, and green energy
sources people will be able to significantly decrease the amount of environmental pollution being unleashed on earth. The most damaging forms of
environmental pollution today include air pollution and ocean pollution. Air pollution has become an increasingly large problem since the 1800's
particularly when inventions such as the car and the burning of fossil fuels for energy started to become more suitable for the tasks at hand. Ocean
pollution has been just as hurtful towards the ecosystem as air pollution. Every day people dispose of their trash incorrectly and eventually finds its

Environmental pollution doesn't just affect the planet, humans have experienced major health problems, most significantly in developing countries
where "the impact of environmental pollution is more rigorous, leading to ill health, increased disabilities and mortality rate annually" (C–2). Pollution
is harming a higher number of people living in these countries because the production of needed materials and waste is larger. This causes a spike in
the amount of harmful gases being released into the atmosphere. The harmful effects of pollution are just as bad if not worse in more densely
populated areas. For instance, "Environmental pollutants are at their worst in urban areas, due to concentration of people both as sources of the
pollution and as victims of the pollution" (C – 5). People located in urban areas are exposed to an increased amount of pollution because of how
compacted they are. More people in a smaller amount of space leads to more cars, more homes, and greater demand for things like electricity and fuel.

III) Psychological Consequences of Environmental Problems: The very real and well–documented environmental problems we face, both locally and
globally, also have psychological consequences. This is one of the foundations of ecopsychology and recognizing the depth and closeness of

We can identity three categories of environmental problems: Natural disasters, technological catastrophes, and long–term environmental degradation. It

The biggest environmental problem that faces Earth today is pollution. There are a bunch types of pollution on planet Earth but by far air pollution is
the deadliest. Air pollution can inhibit the breathing of living organisms. Many major companies including Exxonmobil and Bp who are leading the air
pollution race with a Exxonmobil averaging 39 million tons of emissions. These emissions are released into the air by the process of making gasoline
and chemicals. The second biggest environmental problem Earth faces each year is the decrease of natural resources. When it comes to natural
resources the depletion of fossil fuels and deforestation are destroying the planet. Deforestation is the removal of trees in a wide area to the point
of where it's almost not a forest anymore. On the other hand the depletion of fossil fuels is scary because fossil fuels are a nonrenewable resource.
They are nonrenewable because they are being used up faster than they are being created. And it can take up to millions of years for more fossil fuels
to be created. And finally for my third pick of the biggest environmental problems facing the Earth is the depletion of its Ozone layer. Some chemicals
named Chlorine and bromine are in the atmosphere and are deteriorating the Ozone layer which consists of three hydrogen atoms.
