Poseidon Description
The god that I will be doing is Poseidon. Poseidon was the god of the sea, earthquakes, storms, and horses. He is known to be one of the worst
tempered, and greedy olympian gods. Poseidon is the son of Cronus and Rhea. His father swallowed him along with Hades, Demeter, Hestia, and Hera.
Poseidon and his brothers then found out how to defeat their father and put his pieces into a special box so that, that can't happen again.
Poseidon has a weapon of power, his trident. With his trident is equipped, he gains his powers. He wears a crown, and is known to have pure white
hair, meaning he is very old. He is also known for his eyes to change from sea green to storm grey when he gets mad, and when this happens, he can
make storms come. Poseidon...show more content...
His powers are the ability for him to manipulate water, storms, and lightning. He is also able to create strong waves and violent storms to bring the
rage of the ocean upon those who make him angry or he doesn't like.
The animal that is associated with Poseidon is horses and sea animals. He is heard to have breathed life into the first horse on earth. Symbols that
are associated with him are his trident that gives him power, his crown, and other gods or goddesses objects. He uses his objects and the animals that
are associated with him for his powers and abilities. Poseidon is very strong and powerful as a god.
Poseidon's full myth story starts with his father swallowing him and his brothers when he was just a baby. He was then rescued by Zeus, along his
brothers and sisters. Then, His mother Rhea saved him by giving him to a flock of lambs when he was born and tricked her husband by giving him a
clot to swallow instead of him. Poseidon was raised by the Telchines on Rhodes. After his victory against the Titans, Zeus,Hades and Poseidon split the
world to be ruled by all three of them. Poseidon go the sea and earth along with a trident to protect and rule the sea and earth. Poseidon was the
second most powerful god in Olympus, but he was very greedy and tried to take away cities from other gods. Poseidon was married to Amphitrite the
daughter of the Titan

The Poseidon Project Essay
Atlantis, a once powerful island nation which sank into the depths of the sea around 9,600 B.C.. Plato wrote about this phenomenon several times
and ever since scientists, historians, and the general populace have puzzled over its truth. For the past 2,400 years, and potentially earlier, humans
have pondered the possibility of undersea civilizations. After all these millennia, could it finally be within reach? Pre SEALAB studies: Humans
have tested our diving limits ever since we learned of them. With researchers like Captain George F. Bond and Elihu Thompson leading the charge
to exceed limit after limit and dive deeper into the ocean depths. Some relevant discoveries and inventions made in studies like theirs are those of

Simply, yes. There are several hotels and restaurants such as the Poseidon Undersea Resort currently under construction. These buildings will provide
guests with a close look into the mysterious lives of the sea life through the transparent ceilings and walls. Though these buildings are not being built
specifically to be used for scientific research, does not entail that it is not a possibility. Marine experts may find themselves spending a night or two at
the Poseidon Resort off the coast of Fuji due to the lack of remaining laboratories. The wealthy nation of Singapore has begun drawing up plans to
construct an undersea city just off the shore in order to expand the landmass for their ever growing population and economy. The Nanyang
Technological University is currently working on the designs and construction plans, and Singapore's National Research Foundation is funding the
project. Though it may seem like the plot of a science fiction novel, Singapore's ever increasing economic power creates an environment where this
idea can become a reality.

Poseidon's Short Story
Sitting high atop Mount Olympus, the gods and goddesses of Greece were engaged in a heated battle of words. Poseidon swore that Zeus had
taken his triton, but Zeus held to his opinion that Poseidon was in possession of his lightning bolt. "If YOU don't return my lightning bolt I'll wage
war with you, puny sea god!" "You're the one who hides up in the sky like a wimp! At least I fight like a man!" Poseidon raged. Meanwhile on the
other side of the the world an unknown figure sat watching as the sky lit up with angry lightning. His laughter echoed in his empty cave "Foolish gods,
blaming each other, what do they know?" With that the creature slunk deeper into the cave to check on his new valuables. Little did the thing know
that a girl had

Essay On Poseidon
Poseidon, Second in command behind Zeus, had no mercy on any mortal who tried to claim his waters. Poseidon's background goes all the way back
to the first twelve Olympians. Poseidon had many loves but one wife, making him the father of many kids. The role of Poseidon in the heavens was
never specific all he had to do was control seas, oceans, rivers, Lakes and streams. When it came to his interaction with the earth and humans, he ruled
the oceans and was feared on land. Greece being completely surrounded by water will always have remembrance of Poseidon, the god of the sea.
Poseidon fell in love with the goddess of the sea, Amphitrite. Together they had three children all inheriting the smite and short temper of Poseidon.
No one is sure how many kids Poseidon actually had but it's estimated somewhere close to fifty. Poseidon, being a god, gave every single one of his
kids some kind of power. Ranging from Triton being able to raise the waves with the blow of a conch shell to Polyphemus the giant Cyclops with
bone crunching jaws all given from their father. Even with all his kids...show more content...
For someone who spent very little time on the ground he caused a lot of trouble. Only when Poseidon felt that it was necessary. Gaining the control
of a city means fulfilling the wishes of many humans and Poseidon never stuck to his word to fulfill those wishes. Being the idle of a whole city
meant a lot to Poseidon. He would fight his brothers or sister to win over a city in his favor. Humans realizing his power and how important he was
to Greece is the only reason they chose him as their god for that city. Not always being the most fulfilling god, Poseidon would lock horns with anyone
who tried to take a city from him. Zeus may have been the oldest Olympian but Poseidon was actually worshipped before any other Olympian. The
reason for this is because of how important the sea is to the inhabitants of

Greek mythology has always been a very fascinating subject to talk about. The belief that gods and goddesses once ruled the Earth is an interesting
idea. To think that the land and sea were once looked upon by one of the strongest and fiercest gods that ever lived. Poseidon or Neptune was known
to be one of the strongest gods that ever walked on the planet. Poseidon is best known for protecting and watching over the ocean.
In the beginning, it all started with the gods and goddesses Cronus (God of the Sky) and Rhea (Goddess of the Earth). They met and got married.
While they were married they produced six offspring. These offspring would turn out to be some of the most famous in mythology. The offspring

Poseidon met a Nereid named Amphitrite; like her sister Thetis she proved a reluctant bride, but Poseidon finally was able to win her. As husband and
wife they played roles very much like those enacted by Zeus and Hera; Poseidon has a weakness for women, and Amphitrite with good cause is angry
and vengeful (1). Together they bore three children, Rhode, Triton, and Benthesicyme. Triton was a merman that consisted of human above the waist
and fish–shaped below the waist. He is seen many a times blowing a conch shell and can change shape at will. Poseidon had an infatuation with
Scylla, daughter of Phorcys, and this angered Amphitrite. Amphitrite changed Scylla into a barking monster with six heads and twelve feet by
throwing magical herbs into her bathing pool (2). Poseidon fooled around with thousands of goddesses, nymphs, and mortal women in his lifetime
and also married another important goddess. Medusa is best known for her snake covered hair and her evil glaze, but she was married to Poseidon
also. She was a part of the Gorgons (three sisters whose hair was writhed with serpents). When Perseus beheaded her, she was pregnant. From her
dead body sprang a winged horse, Pegasus, and a son, Chrysaor. Pegasus is best known of the two but Chrysaor is known as "he of the golden
sword." Chrysaor wed Callirhië and they had two offspring, one of which was Echidna. Echidna wed Typhon and had four offspring Orthus,

Poseidon Mythology
Poseidon was the Greek god of the oceans, earthquakes, droughts and sea monsters. Poseidon had many brothers and sisters, but his main brothers
were Hades and the mighty Zeus. Poseidon had many monstrous children like a minotaur or cyclops. The place he mostly stays is the ocean.
Poseidon lived in a beautiful place with silver fountains and sea plants and at night there would be glowing worms that would light up the place too.
There was also sand dotted with jewels. Poseidon also had another palace that was built for god/goddess meetings. Poseidon's mother and father were
Cronos, the god of time, and Rhea, the earth goddess. His main brothers are Hades and Zeus. Cronus overtook his father for the land but he was a
terrible ruler. Cronus was worried about something because he was so much like his father that he did not want to be overruled by his own children
so he ate all of them except for Zeus. Cronus was tricked by his wife Rhea because she did not want this to happen with her kids anymore.
Rhea was their mother and did not approve of her children being eaten. Rhea used a rock and covered it with the baby cloth and gave it to Cronus and
that's how Rhea tricked Cronus. After the gods were vomited back up, Zeus led them in a 10–year war against the Titans. They were all exhausted
from the war with the Titans the god of time because of Cronus wrong done but luckily they had help from grandmother earth who was the first thing in
the universe.
Mother earth helped Zeus brothers and sisters by giving them 50 head monster because long time ago they were trapped in the stone cave so Zeus
released them. When they destroyed their father, the three brothers ruled the universe. Zeus had an idea to split the land in the world. Zeus ruled the
heavens because he knew the real world better than his family. Poseidon chose to rule the ocean because the feeling of the ocean was just like his
temper. Hades chose the underworld because he was always gloomy and stayed in the dark the longest. The weapon that Poseidon choose is the trident
for battle and it is to control the ocean.
His main object is a pearl because it's a rare thing in the sea and can be a really valuable object. The

Characteristics Of Poseidon
Poseidon In this essay I will do my best to paint a picture of Poseidon, in terms of how he was portrait to the people of his time, how he ruled and
how he lived. Poseidon was a god of many attributes, both being good and bad characteristics and behaviours. In this essay I will bring forth these
attributes along with different examples showing how he was characteristically, hopefully portraying how he was worshiped by the people and how
he was known to exist and the influence that he had on the lives of the people. Who was Poseidon? "Poseidon was the Olympian god of the sea,
earthquakes, floods, drought and horses." He was officially one of the supreme gods of Mount Olympus along with his brothers Zeus...show more

The second reason he created them was because of a competition against Athena, for the naming rights to the city of Cecropia. The competition was
that they had to create the most useful gift for humans. Athena created the olive tree which had ended up winning while Poseidon had created the
horse. They are both useful and important gifts for humans because on is used for food and substance, while the horse has the power to help with
the fields and quality of life for the people in may different aspects. Since Poseidon was the god of the sea he was usually worshipped in cities near
the coast such as Corinth. "Poseidon was worshiped most by the people who lived by the shore of the sea." (Caroline H. and Samuel B. Harding).
Sailors prayed to Poseidon for a safe voyage, sometimes drowning horses as a sacrifice. Poseidon created new islands and offered calm seas.
"Every city along the coast had a temple to Poseidon."( Caroline H. and Samuel B. Harding). Even though he did a lot of good he also had a bad
side when he was ignored by the people. When ignored he struck the ground with his trident and that in tern created large floods or heavy rainfall,
earthquakes, or death. He was also treated with a very high regard in Athens for the gift he had given the people (horses). Being mainly fishermen
people most of the coastal society's they had prayed to him a

Poseidon: A Short Story
The first thing Poseidon felt was shock, closely followed by horror, because–a family reunion? Really? Then came the rage. A quick, unrecognizable
slur of words and images and sounds, a howfuckingdareyouinsultthisboysally'ssonmaybemyson followed by a roaring in his ears and red coating his
tongue and another howdareyouaccusemeyouassdon'tyouthinkiknowtheconditionsofbianca'sbirth. It happens so fast he's nearly breathless, but it's the
protectiveness that surprises the hell out of him more than anything else. It burns and burns and burns in his chest like a brand is being pressed and
held there (and it screams at him father, father, father). It's mind blowing. The last time he checked, he was an asshole, through and through.
Self–proclaimed...show more content...
When he opens his mouth, he's surprised. His voice is calm and smooth as it often is. There is no trace of anxiety or pent–up rage. "Percy," he says,
and the name tastes like lost chances. "I need you to get dressed and grab your things." Stunned green eyes meet his, but he refuses to back down
to the gaze and narrows his own green gaze. A bottom lip trembles. His heartstrings give an unexpected pull. "Huh?" the child mumbles, helpless.
It's almost too easy, because Poseidon can already see a resigned acceptance rising to the front of those expressive orbs. Years of being tossed
around must have taken its toll. Poseidon hates that he is relieved (but he is and he can't take it back); it makes everything so much easier. "I thought
you wanted me to talk to a reporter for you?" It's a dying man's last hope, like desperate fingers groping for a ledge to stop the inevitable fall. Poseidon
doesn't pause to think, just does. "I'll find someone better." And the kitchen door swings open then shut. So much for

Poseidon: My Greek God
My Greek god is Poseidon, he was the Olympian god of the sea, earthquakes, floods, drought and horses. Some people believe he was first a god of the
earth and earthquakes but then later took on the role of sea god. Poseidon is most known as the god of the sea. He carried the fork of Triton and used
this to stir up the sea which created waves and storms. He was also sometimes called Earth–Shaker. Poseidon means "husband" but no one is sure a
husband of what. Poseidon was represented as extremely powerful. His parents were Cronus and Rhea with six kids who ended up "dividing the
power of the world." Poseidon once married Amphitrite and has a child named Triton who was half fish. He once also had two children, Chrysaor and
Pegasus, who is the

Poseidon: A Necessary God
All mythical gods have the same things in common, they are courageous, smart, loyal, powerful, and save their family and friends. Poseidon is an
example of a mythical god. Poseidon is the god of sea, earthquakes, and horses. Poseidon was brother to Zeus and Hades they all are gods of
creation of the earth. Example Zeus became ruler of the sky, Hades got dominion of the Underworld, and Poseidon was given all water, both fresh
and salt. They all have different jobs of being a god, with the sky Zeus can control weather, clouds, and sun, Hades can control all of the underworld
also known as sea, And Poseidon can control all water salt and fresh to do anything he wants. They all have things they can use for power and all are
equally powerful.

Poseidon Mythology
Poseidon: God of the sea
Many things through today's world is connected or brought on because of greek mythology. Poseidon is one of the most powerful gods or goddesses
in mythology. Although, Poseidon is a dominant Greek god many still don't know his mythology. Poseidon is a great Greek god because of his family,
his role in Greek mythology, and the myths he was in. The first reason Poseidon is an outstanding Greek god is because of his family. Poseidon's
family is large and unique in their own ways considering they are gods. "Zeus and Hades were his brothers" (Poseidon). According to the article
Poseidon, Zeus and Hades were his brothers, and they were the ones who took down the titans and Cronus, their dad, which then started the
Olympian era. " He was similar to Zeus in that he liked to exert power over women and flaunt his rugged masculinity. At times, however, his efforts
were appreciated. Poseidon saved Amymone from a satyr"(Poseidon). Poseidon was like his brother Zeus when it came to women, he had several
martle affairs. "He and Medusa conceived the flying horse, pegasus and He was also the biological father of Orion, Polyphemus, Pelias, and many
others"(Poseidon). This shows that the Poseidon had many affairs considering he was married to Amphitrite, a Nereid. "One of his most notable
dalliances involved his sister Demeter. She refused his advances by turning herself into a mare. He then transformed into a stallion and pursued her.
Their relations produced a

Poseidon swore that Zeus had taken his triton, but Zeus held to his opinion that Poseidon was in possession of his lightning bolt. "If YOU don't return my lightning bolt I'll wage war with you, puny sea god!" "You're the one who hides up in the sky like a wimp! At least I fight like a man!" Poseidon raged. Meanwhile on the other side of the the world an unknown figure sat watching as the sky lit up with angry lightning. His laughter echoed in his empty cave "Foolish gods, blaming each other, what do they know?" With that the creature slunk deeper into the cave to check on his new valuables. • 4. Essay On Poseidon Poseidon, Second in command behind Zeus, had no mercy on any mortal who tried to claim his waters. Poseidon's background goes all the way back to the first twelve Olympians. Poseidon had many loves but one wife, making him the father of many kids. The role of Poseidon in the heavens was never specific all he had to do was control seas, oceans, rivers, Lakes and streams. When it came to his interaction with the earth and humans, he ruled the oceans and was feared on land. Poseidon, being a god, gave every single one of his kids some kind of power. Ranging from Triton being able to raise the waves with the blow of a conch shell to Polyphemus the giant Cyclops with bone crunching jaws all given from their father. Even with all his kids...show more content... For someone who spent very little time on the ground he caused a lot of trouble. Only when Poseidon felt that it was necessary. Gaining the control of a city means fulfilling the wishes of many humans and Poseidon never stuck to his word to fulfill those wishes. Being the idle of a whole city meant a lot to Poseidon. He would fight his brothers or sister to win over a city in his favor. Humans realizing his power and how important he was to Greece is the only reason they chose him as their god for that city. Not always being the most fulfilling god, Poseidon would lock horns with anyone who tried to take a city from him. Zeus may have been the oldest Olympian but Poseidon was actually worshipped before any other Olympian. The reason for this is because of how important the sea is to the inhabitants of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Poseidon Essay Greek mythology has always been a very fascinating subject to talk about. The belief that gods and goddesses once ruled the Earth is an interesting idea. To think that the land and sea were once looked upon by one of the strongest and fiercest gods that ever lived. Poseidon or Neptune was known to be one of the strongest gods that ever walked on the planet. The offspring consisted...show more content... Poseidon met a Nereid named Amphitrite; like her sister Thetis she proved a reluctant bride, but Poseidon finally was able to win her. As husband and wife they played roles very much like those enacted by Zeus and Hera; Poseidon has a weakness for women, and Amphitrite with good cause is angry and vengeful (1). Together they bore three children, Rhode, Triton, and Benthesicyme. Triton was a merman that consisted of human above the waist and fish–shaped below the waist. He is seen many a times blowing a conch shell and can change shape at will. Poseidon had an infatuation with Scylla, daughter of Phorcys, and this angered Amphitrite. Amphitrite changed Scylla into a barking monster with six heads and twelve feet by throwing magical herbs into her bathing pool (2). Poseidon fooled around with thousands of goddesses, nymphs, and mortal women in his lifetime and also married another important goddess. Medusa is best known for her snake covered hair and her evil glaze, but she was married to Poseidon also. She was a part of the Gorgons (three sisters whose hair was writhed with serpents). When Perseus beheaded her, she was pregnant. From her dead body sprang a winged horse, Pegasus, and a son, Chrysaor. Pegasus is best known of the two but Chrysaor is known as "he of the golden sword." Chrysaor wed Callirhië and they had two offspring, one of which was Echidna. Echidna wed Typhon and had four offspring Orthus, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Poseidon Mythology Poseidon was the Greek god of the oceans, earthquakes, droughts and sea monsters. Poseidon had many brothers and sisters, but his main brothers were Hades and the mighty Zeus. Poseidon's mother and father were Cronos, the god of time, and Rhea, the earth goddess. His main brothers are Hades and Zeus. Cronus overtook his father for the land but he was a terrible ruler. Cronus was worried about something because he was so much like his father that he did not want to be overruled by his own children so he ate all of them except for Zeus. Cronus was tricked by his wife Rhea because she did not want this to happen with her kids anymore. Rhea was their mother and did not approve of her children being eaten. Rhea used a rock and covered it with the baby cloth and gave it to Cronus and that's how Rhea tricked Cronus. After the gods were vomited back up, Zeus led them in a 10–year war against the Titans. They were all exhausted from the war with the Titans the god of time because of Cronus wrong done but luckily they had help from grandmother earth who was the first thing in the universe. Mother earth helped Zeus brothers and sisters by giving them 50 head monster because long time ago they were trapped in the stone cave so Zeus released them. When they destroyed their father, the three brothers ruled the universe. Zeus had an idea to split the land in the world. Zeus ruled the heavens because he knew the real world better than his family. Poseidon chose to rule the ocean because the feeling of the ocean was just like his temper. Hades chose the underworld because he was always gloomy and stayed in the dark the longest. The weapon that Poseidon choose is the trident for battle and it is to control the ocean. His main object is a pearl because it's a rare thing in the sea and can be a really valuable object. • 7. Characteristics Of Poseidon Poseidon In this essay I will do my best to paint a picture of Poseidon, in terms of how he was portrait to the people of his time, how he ruled and how he lived. Poseidon was a god of many attributes, both being good and bad characteristics and behaviours. In this essay I will bring forth these attributes along with different examples showing how he was characteristically, hopefully portraying how he was worshiped by the people and how he was known to exist and the influence that he had on the lives of the people. Who was Poseidon? "Poseidon was the Olympian god of the sea, earthquakes, floods, drought and horses." He was officially one of the supreme gods of Mount Olympus along with his brothers Zeus...show more content... The second reason he created them was because of a competition against Athena, for the naming rights to the city of Cecropia. The competition was that they had to create the most useful gift for humans. Athena created the olive tree which had ended up winning while Poseidon had created the horse. They are both useful and important gifts for humans because on is used for food and substance, while the horse has the power to help with the fields and quality of life for the people in may different aspects. Since Poseidon was the god of the sea he was usually worshipped in cities near the coast such as Corinth. Harding). Even though he did a lot of good he also had a bad side when he was ignored by the people. When ignored he struck the ground with his trident and that in tern created large floods or heavy rainfall, earthquakes, or death. He was also treated with a very high regard in Athens for the gift he had given the people (horses). Being mainly fishermen people most of the coastal society's they had prayed to him a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Poseidon: A Short Story The first thing Poseidon felt was shock, closely followed by horror, because–a family reunion? Really? Then came the rage. It happens so fast he's nearly breathless, but it's the protectiveness that surprises the hell out of him more than anything else. It burns and burns and burns in his chest like a brand is being pressed and held there (and it screams at him father, father, father). It's mind blowing. The last time he checked, he was an asshole, through and through. Self–proclaimed...show more content... When he opens his mouth, he's surprised. His voice is calm and smooth as it often is. There is no trace of anxiety or pent–up rage. "Percy," he says, and the name tastes like lost chances. "I need you to get dressed and grab your things." Stunned green eyes meet his, but he refuses to back down to the gaze and narrows his own green gaze. A bottom lip trembles. His heartstrings give an unexpected pull. "Huh?" the child mumbles, helpless. It's almost too easy, because Poseidon can already see a resigned acceptance rising to the front of those expressive orbs. Years of being tossed around must have taken its toll. Poseidon hates that he is relieved (but he is and he can't take it back); it makes everything so much easier. "I thought you wanted me to talk to a reporter for you?" It's a dying man's last hope, like desperate fingers groping for a ledge to stop the inevitable fall. Poseidon doesn't pause to think, just does. "I'll find someone better." And the kitchen door swings open then shut. So much for Get more content on HelpWriting.net

He carried the fork of Triton and used this to stir up the sea which created waves and storms. He was also sometimes called Earth–Shaker. Poseidon means "husband" but no one is sure a husband of what. Poseidon was represented as extremely powerful. His parents were Cronus and Rhea with six kids who ended up "dividing the power of the world." Poseidon once married Amphitrite and has a child named Triton who was half fish. • 11. Poseidon Mythology Poseidon: God of the sea Many things through today's world is connected or brought on because of greek mythology. Poseidon is one of the most powerful gods or goddesses in mythology. Although, Poseidon is a dominant Greek god many still don't know his mythology. Poseidon is a great Greek god because of his family, his role in Greek mythology, and the myths he was in. The first reason Poseidon is an outstanding Greek god is because of his family. Poseidon's family is large and unique in their own ways considering they are gods. "Zeus and Hades were his brothers" (Poseidon). According to the article Poseidon, Zeus and Hades were his brothers, and they were the ones who took down the titans and Cronus, their dad, which then started the Olympian era. " He was similar to Zeus in that he liked to exert power over women and flaunt his rugged masculinity. At times, however, his efforts were appreciated. Poseidon saved Amymone from a satyr"(Poseidon). Poseidon was like his brother Zeus when it came to women, he had several martle affairs.
