Examples Of Application Essay
I am writing to apply for the position of Lecturer in Writing Studies, as advertised on the University of Sydney website. I am currently working as a
Research Assistant and PhD Candidate at Macquarie University and recently completed a PhD thesis in Linguistics, which is now going through the
submission and examination process. I am extremely interested in obtaining a lecturing position at the University of Sydney, for its focus on
interdisciplinary, collaborative research and its 'above world standard' disciplines.
I believe that my academic training and my work experience as a tutor have prepared me to be an effective researcher and instructor in the Department
of Writing Studies. My doctoral study was conducted under the supervision of...show more content...
Although my thesis focused on a single topic, other areas that spark my interest for future research stem from my goal to further explore the impact of
power and ideology on language use, in the form of textual and digital communication, in widely divergent cultural contexts and to investigate relevant
societal or conflictual issues such as covert racial or gender discrimination, the digital construction of Self and Other(s), human rights, migration,
political tensions, digital equity and political decision making. At present, I am collaborating with various other linguists and medical professionals
from Macquarie Hospital on an short–term interdisciplinary research project that investigates intercultural medical communication between
international trainee specialists and their Australian patients.
During my PhD studies, I have been fortunate enough to also serve as a tutor in International Studies. My previous work experience as a language
development trainer in New Caledonia, helping Kanak indigenous people to learn how to read and write in their first (Camuki) and second language
(French), as well as teaching Dutch and French as a private tutor, has provided me with the necessary skills to prepare students to function in a
multicultural, global reality.

On July 6, 1999 a future Clemson Tiger was born, me. As the son of two Clemson alumni, it has been the overall goal of my life to attend the
beloved Clemson University and follow my parents' legacy. Experiencing football and baseball games, caressing Howard's Rock, and making many
everlasting memories has enticed me since I was a young boy. I have considered the university to be my number one choice when picking my future
college since the first time I stepped foot on the campus. Knowing that I was initially not accepted into the undergraduate program urges me to
prove myself and show the staff of Clemson all that I can bring to better further the reputation of the university. I have worked extremely hard to get
to where I am today, but all I can do is get better and I will do whatever it takes to help guarantee my success as a student at Clemson University. I
intend to live on campus to help ensure exemplary grades, attend all classes whether attendance is mandatory or optional, and lastly, I have an strong
and supportive family of successful alumni to push me to be a prosperous student. My family deeply believes in a Clemson education over another

UC Personal Statement
Some people have skills that makes them unique, my skill was just always a hands on learner. I have always just enjoyed fixing minor things around
my house since I was four. My mother would usually say "Where's my handyman at?" whenever there were something to fix. Something about getting
the knowledge of turning something useless into its original state just intrigues me. When I was around ten years old, I started skating and it had me
actually figure out the board completely and learned how to assemble one which gave me more experience.
Around elementary and middle school, I didn't know much of what career path I would choose since everyone I knew in my classes had their
lives all planned out. I would panic when people asked "what are you going to be after your out of school?" and I didn't know what to say so I just
told them that I would be a correction officer like my dad. In the beginning I forced that thought into my head, but at the same time I knew it wasn't
something I always wanted to be. So my search of my future career was now back into my first priorities....show more content...
I was able to put my skill of being able to fix things into something I can actually use in the real world. I just felt so relieved that all those years of
wondering "what kind of career path would I take after high school?" is now finally over. I enjoyed how my teacher was one on one with each and every
single one of us in his class. He showed us how to do simple auto mechanic jobs, and talked us step by step on what we needed to do to complete what
task he gave us. It was all slowly coming to me and I started to have that knowledge on what the problem is and how could I solve

Persuasion Liking Examples
The element of persuasion liking can be used in daily interactions with teachers and classmates by giving compliments to win my peers and
teachers over. Just being myself can win anyone over seeing that I am very honest and up forward. This element can improve my ability to achieve
my goals by helping meet people who are like myself, which will make it comfortable to seek help from them when I need it. When you can
cooperate with others it gives you the ability to be able to communicate with people. Communication is very key when you are in a class setting. The
ability to persuade others benefits my specific career considering that I am a very likeable person. People can't help but to gravitate towards my

I'm not here to make excuses nor am I writing this with intentions to earn sympathy. If there's one thing I want the reader to get out of this, it's that I've

My stepfather, whom I have lived with the majority of my life, was a professional hockey player in the NHL. He played for numerous teams during
his twelve–year career, forcing my family and I to continuously relocate. As a young child this inconsistency made it difficult to make friends and even

NHS Application Essay: Total Change
NHS Application Essay October 8, 2015, is the day that my life experienced a total change. My best friend, who I had known for over ten years, passed
away at the age of eighteen after a year–long battle with cancer. Ryan's struggle and ultimate passing had a profound effect on how I live my life. He
taught me that one does not have to be popular and outgoing to get involved and make a difference. After his death, I began to break out of my
"shell" and try new and important things. I believe that the best was to carry on his memory is to do this I would have not normally have done and live
like each day is my last. I have always been sort of a shy kid; I kept to myself and did not interact with other people if I did not have to.

Emory University attracts me most for its abundant research programs provided for the undergraduate students. Personally, I like to do various kinds

Volunteering to feed the homeless is truly an eye opening experience to what reality is. There is an estimated one hundred million homeless people in
the world who are starving and are trying to find a way to survive. On a day–to–day basis, we see homeless people everywhere such as on the streets,
by the freeway asking for money so they can feed themselves, or maybe even feed their own family. One day, my mom and I decided we had to take
action after witnessing so many homeless people on the streets. When people are in such a difficult situation, their only option is to beg for money
because they have no roof over their head, and no food to eat. Many of these people are suffering from their own decisions, unemployment, or for
other personal reasons. There are many homeless people who are sick and suffering from severe mental illnesses. It breaks my heart seeing
homeless people in the streets, so I knew I had to take action and help out someway. The experience of volunteering to feed the homeless was most
certainly a life changing experience. It made me realize how grateful I am for my life, how important it is to help those in great need, and to never
take a meal for granted or roof for granted. This event was one that happened in the spur of the moment but has also changed me as a a person by
becoming more involved and helping out more in my community , learning to never taking anything for granted, and by not assuming all homeless
people are bad people as such. On a

essential for being an effective Research Analyst. As a professional and a student, I managed multiple projects simultaneously while collaborating
effectively with a diverse team. For instance, as Acacia Fraternity's Director of Philanthropy and Community Service, I coordinated philanthropy events
while balancing a rigorous academic workload. When planning events, such as our chapter's annual toy drive, I directly managed members, paid close

qualitative data, which is essential for building industry knowledge and breaking down data found in SEC filings. Lastly, I was able to multitask and

Uc Club Communication
In today's society, there are many ways in which people communicate within their individual community. One community in which many people do not
fully understand is the game of baseball. Baseball is one of the most popular sports in the U.S. and has been deemed America's pastime. For me, sports
are my life, especially when it comes to this particular game. I started playing baseball around the age of 4 and continue to play here at the university
for the UC Club Baseball Team. When playing sports at a young age, there is not a whole lot of organization. Often times it just looks like a bunch of
kids running around aimlessly. At the age of 8, I decided to take my game and tryout for my first travel team.
My first real baseball experience started in 2001 when I joined the Royalton Raptors, a local travel baseball team in my city. Up...show more content...
Because I had only played on rec teams, I never realized exactly how in depth baseball actually was. One aspect of the game that was new to me was
the way people involved with the team communicated. During my time with the Raptors, two clear forms of communication surfaced; player to coach
communication, and player–to–player communication. Understanding these two forms of interaction is extremely important in understanding the
baseball community.
The first form of communication is between coaches and players. Coaches are the foundation of every team. They set–up, run, and manage every
aspect of the organization. Coach's help players learn different styles of play and help them learn and improve skills both in the field and at the plate.
Coaches use many different forms of communication, not

Examples Of Application Essay

  • 1. Examples Of Application Essay I am writing to apply for the position of Lecturer in Writing Studies, as advertised on the University of Sydney website. I am currently working as a Research Assistant and PhD Candidate at Macquarie University and recently completed a PhD thesis in Linguistics, which is now going through the submission and examination process. I am extremely interested in obtaining a lecturing position at the University of Sydney, for its focus on interdisciplinary, collaborative research and its 'above world standard' disciplines. I believe that my academic training and my work experience as a tutor have prepared me to be an effective researcher and instructor in the Department of Writing Studies. My doctoral study was conducted under the supervision of...show more content... Although my thesis focused on a single topic, other areas that spark my interest for future research stem from my goal to further explore the impact of power and ideology on language use, in the form of textual and digital communication, in widely divergent cultural contexts and to investigate relevant societal or conflictual issues such as covert racial or gender discrimination, the digital construction of Self and Other(s), human rights, migration, political tensions, digital equity and political decision making. At present, I am collaborating with various other linguists and medical professionals from Macquarie Hospital on an short–term interdisciplinary research project that investigates intercultural medical communication between international trainee specialists and their Australian patients. During my PhD studies, I have been fortunate enough to also serve as a tutor in International Studies. My previous work experience as a language development trainer in New Caledonia, helping Kanak indigenous people to learn how to read and write in their first (Camuki) and second language (French), as well as teaching Dutch and French as a private tutor, has provided me with the necessary skills to prepare students to function in a multicultural, global reality. • 4. My UC Personal Statement UC Personal Statement Some people have skills that makes them unique, my skill was just always a hands on learner. I have always just enjoyed fixing minor things around my house since I was four. My mother would usually say "Where's my handyman at?" whenever there were something to fix. Something about getting the knowledge of turning something useless into its original state just intrigues me. When I was around ten years old, I started skating and it had me actually figure out the board completely and learned how to assemble one which gave me more experience. Around elementary and middle school, I didn't know much of what career path I would choose since everyone I knew in my classes had their lives all planned out. I would panic when people asked "what are you going to be after your out of school?" and I didn't know what to say so I just told them that I would be a correction officer like my dad. In the beginning I forced that thought into my head, but at the same time I knew it wasn't something I always wanted to be. So my search of my future career was now back into my first priorities....show more content... I was able to put my skill of being able to fix things into something I can actually use in the real world. I just felt so relieved that all those years of wondering "what kind of career path would I take after high school?" is now finally over. I enjoyed how my teacher was one on one with each and every single one of us in his class. He showed us how to do simple auto mechanic jobs, and talked us step by step on what we needed to do to complete what task he gave us. It was all slowly coming to me and I started to have that knowledge on what the problem is and how could I solve Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Just being myself can win anyone over seeing that I am very honest and up forward. This element can improve my ability to achieve my goals by helping meet people who are like myself, which will make it comfortable to seek help from them when I need it. When you can cooperate with others it gives you the ability to be able to communicate with people. Communication is very key when you are in a class setting. The ability to persuade others benefits my specific career considering that I am a very likeable person. People can't help but to gravitate towards my energy. • 6. Examples Of Common Application Essay I'm not here to make excuses nor am I writing this with intentions to earn sympathy. If there's one thing I want the reader to get out of this, it's that I've come a long way not only academically, but as a human being. My stepfather, whom I have lived with the majority of my life, was a professional hockey player in the NHL. He played for numerous teams during his twelve–year career, forcing my family and I to continuously relocate. As a young child this inconsistency made it difficult to make friends and even affected my education. Moving on so many different occasions to different states and even a different country, made it extremely difficult to keep up with the changing curriculum. As his career came to a close, it was apparent that due to poor financial advising,...show more content... As I stated in my Common Application essay, "Life will give me hundreds of reasons why I can't do something, but I always find that one reason why I can." I have learned to make the best of any situation and have learned that some things are out of my control. At some point, I needed to work on bettering myself and it started this year. Thus, I am applying to Cornell to better myself. In addition, Cornell has played a prevalent role within my family. My uncle, Brian Reeves, who is on numerous committees at Cornell and President of NYS Vegetable Growers Association, owns and operates Reeves Farms in Baldwinsville. On the farm, he works closely with my grandfather, Andrew Reeves and other uncle, Tim Reeves, who is a graduate of Cornell. Whenever I would visit with them, they would tell me the latest news about the farm and update me on the newest projects, conferences or organizations they had recently attended or helped create at Cornell. Needless to say, everyone in my family are huge supporters of Cornell University. Cornell is a prevalent part of my growth for the future and I cannot wait to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. NHS Application Essay: Total Change NHS Application Essay October 8, 2015, is the day that my life experienced a total change. My best friend, who I had known for over ten years, passed away at the age of eighteen after a year–long battle with cancer. Ryan's struggle and ultimate passing had a profound effect on how I live my life. He taught me that one does not have to be popular and outgoing to get involved and make a difference. After his death, I began to break out of my "shell" and try new and important things. I believe that the best was to carry on his memory is to do this I would have not normally have done and live like each day is my last. I have always been sort of a shy kid; I kept to myself and did not interact with other people if I did not have to. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Emory University Application Essay Sample Emory University attracts me most for its abundant research programs provided for the undergraduate students. Personally, I like to do various kinds of research, including but not limiting to Mathematics. In Grade 11, I led a research project in respect of the negative effect created by the abuse of laser beam, which mainly focused on physics concepts. By doing a substantial amount of experiments and gathering related information from the internet, I obtained much more knowledge outside the classroom. As a result, doing a research program is one of the goals that I want to achieve at university. Regarding to the undergraduate research programs at Emory University, Research Partner Program (RPP) is an institution which supports students who interest in working on a research project with a faculty mentor. I find that one of the mathematics related research programs focuses on Algebra and Number theory, which is my favorite topics among all math theories. In addition, I could take advantage of the rich extra curriculum activities to relieve the academic pressure, since Emory college possesses more than 550 clubs and organizations to help students learn how to organize, lead and participate in social Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Volunteering to feed the homeless is truly an eye opening experience to what reality is. There is an estimated one hundred million homeless people in the world who are starving and are trying to find a way to survive. On a day–to–day basis, we see homeless people everywhere such as on the streets, by the freeway asking for money so they can feed themselves, or maybe even feed their own family. One day, my mom and I decided we had to take action after witnessing so many homeless people on the streets. When people are in such a difficult situation, their only option is to beg for money because they have no roof over their head, and no food to eat. Many of these people are suffering from their own decisions, unemployment, or for other personal reasons. There are many homeless people who are sick and suffering from severe mental illnesses. It breaks my heart seeing homeless people in the streets, so I knew I had to take action and help out someway. The experience of volunteering to feed the homeless was most certainly a life changing experience. It made me realize how grateful I am for my life, how important it is to help those in great need, and to never take a meal for granted or roof for granted. This event was one that happened in the spur of the moment but has also changed me as a a person by becoming more involved and helping out more in my community , learning to never taking anything for granted, and by not assuming all homeless people are bad people as such. Essay As A Research Analyst For Equilar I am a graduating UC Berkeley student who came across the Research Analyst position when I met with Equilar employees at the UC Berkeley Career Fair, and I am excited to submit my application. Seeing that my professional experiences, knowledge, skills, and abilities align with the qualifications of this position, I believe that I would make great contributions as a Research Analyst for Equilar. As a professional and a student, I managed multiple projects simultaneously while collaborating effectively with a diverse team. For instance, as Acacia Fraternity's Director of Philanthropy and Community Service, I coordinated philanthropy events while balancing a rigorous academic workload. When planning events, such as our chapter's annual toy drive, I directly managed members, paid close attention to detail, and partnered with toy store managers. • 12. Uc Club Communication In today's society, there are many ways in which people communicate within their individual community. One community in which many people do not fully understand is the game of baseball. Baseball is one of the most popular sports in the U.S. and has been deemed America's pastime. For me, sports are my life, especially when it comes to this particular game. I started playing baseball around the age of 4 and continue to play here at the university for the UC Club Baseball Team. When playing sports at a young age, there is not a whole lot of organization. Often times it just looks like a bunch of kids running around aimlessly. One aspect of the game that was new to me was the way people involved with the team communicated. During my time with the Raptors, two clear forms of communication surfaced; player to coach communication, and player–to–player communication. Understanding these two forms of interaction is extremely important in understanding the baseball community. The first form of communication is between coaches and players. Coaches are the foundation of every team. They set–up, run, and manage every aspect of the organization. Coach's help players learn different styles of play and help them learn and improve skills both in the field and at the plate. Most of the population of Central valley consist of mainly Hispanic agricultural and industrial workers. I have background and experience with working in the industrialized agriculture since primary school, but most in secondary school. I worked with my mother in the various fields like the citrus fields. I learned various techniques regarding pesticides and chemical fertilizers to increase crop yield from several years of doing laborious tasks.
