Expository Essay Vs Persuasive Writing
Even though expository essays and persuasive essays both have research and a thesis statement, they are different in the way that expository explains
while persuasive argues. The expository writer provides clarifying information about a topic while the persuasive writer presents an argument. The
purpose of an expository essay is to explain to the reader your position without trying to get the reader to choose your side. In a persuasive essay you
write to persuade the reader to choose an argument side. They are similar in the way on how they are structured they both require a thesis and a lot of
research.
A topic that could be developed using persuasive writing could be arguing why a person shouldn't litter. This topic has two sides that could

How to Analyze an Expository Essay
Expository writing, in general, is present everywhere. When you pick up a magazine or examine a newspaper article on the newsstand, you are
reading a form of exposition because the author's main purpose of writing that article or essay is to inform the reader about a topic. In the classroom,
many students are required to produce research papers about a specific topic, such as migration patterns of birds. The purpose of that research paper is
to inform the reader, the teacher, about what are the migratory patterns of birds. Finally, at the workplace, many people are required to create business
reports and memorandums to inform their supervisors and co–workers about the company's finances and progress. In order to analyze these expository

"Good" directions for a process essay should satisfy the following criteria: clear, concise, organized, and acknowledges common mistakes. Within
the model essay itself, it satisfies all of these requirements. The text describes, "when you find water becoming extremely hot (or cold)," the
homeowner suggests that the guest, "exit the tub promptly while using a sweeping motion with one arm to push shower curtain aside"(Frazier
303). This piece of direction is clear because it plainly informs the guest on the actual action they have to perform in order to prevent hot or cold
water from burning or freezing the guest. It is also concise because it does not include any irrelevant information pertaining to avoiding burning or
freezing the guest. This essay is organized because when the author listed out his or her directions, he or she listed them out in chronological order.
Lastly, "How to Operate the Shower Curtain" acknowledges common mistakes, such as "REMEMBER TO KEEP SHOWER CURTAIN INSIDE
TUB AT ALL TIMES!" (Frasier 303). The author is cautioning the guest to keep the shower curtain within the bath tub no matter what. The reason for
determining the kind of expository essay it is to help in determining the purpose of the exposition as a whole. Next, the third step to analyzing an
expository essay is to perform the

The Importance Of Expository Reading
Expository text is a very important form of reading material that is used to present content in different ways. Starting as early as kindergarten, children
should be able to identify the main topic, ask and answer questions, and describe connections between two different pieces of information (Roehling,
Hebert, Nelson, Bohaty, 2017). Teachers have problems with studentsreading expository text. It is sometimes more difficult to read than just regular
story reading. Hebert, Bohaty, Nelson, and Brown conducted a meta–analysis on text structure instruction, concluding that it was an effective way to
improve expository reading comprehension (Roehling, Hebert, Nelson, Bohaty, 2017).
Different strategies were developed to help with understanding expository reading comprehension. Teachers play a big role in helping the students
understand. They have to begin with clear learning objectives that outlines the skills teachers want their students to demonstrate by the end of the
instruction (Roehling, Hebert, Nelson, Bohaty, 2017). Once the teacher decides on the learning objective, they can plan specific instructional strategies
to help students achieve the objectives. If there is a clear goal from the teacher, things will be easier on the students. Identification strategies is a good
start in recognizing the structure of an expository text. There are two possible goals of identification strategies: to recognize a single text structure or to
discriminate among several possible text

Essay on Decision Making
Decision making can be described as a process of making a decision or decisions, based on choices made amongst two or more competing course of
actions. The 'Decision making' also requires making a define choice between two or more alternatives course of actions that are available. In every
decision making, there is said to be a positive and negative outcome as future consequence(s). The importance of decision making in individual daily
life and in organization level was demonstrated by two scientists, Arkes and Hammond (1992), in 'Judgment and Decision making' indentified the four

Psychologist Herbert Simon further established and categorized decisions into two categories; Programmed Decisions and Non–Programmed Decision.
Programmed decisions are type of decisions which are routine and repetitive, of which are within the frame work of organization policies and rules.
Such polices rules are established in advance to solve a re– occurring problems within the organization. Such programmed decisions are usually taken
at lower management level and tends to have a short–run impact on organization. In contrast, the Non– Programmed decisions which are type of
decisions which are non–routine and deployed to resolve non–routine problems, they are relevant in solving unique and unusual problems that arises, of
which the alternatives cannot be decided in advance. Non–Programmed decisions are usually of high importance and significance with long–term
consequences on organizations, such decisions are decided at the top management level. A model of decision making known as the Rational Decision
Making Model arises from organization behavior. This includes working through series of five stages path from problem identification and to the
solutions. 1.Define the problem. 2.Identify the decision criteria. 3.Compare each option against pre–determined criteria. 4.Select the best option
5.Implement the best chosen option. The Rational Decision Making Model

The Beauty of the black Widow
Gordon Grice is fascinated, maybe obsessed with the black widow. He begins provocatively " I hunt black widows. I capture it. I have found them in

Grice's purpose in the " Black widow" essay is to inform the audience about the widow's life style. He shows inspiration, fascination, respect and love
for widows. He furthers his purpose by using rhetorical strategies throughout his text....show more content...

Cookies Essay
Ice cream, cookies, cake , candy, or just plain chocolate–whatever it is, we all have our vices. Mine are cookies. Specifically, thick, soft, buttery cookies
like what you might find in a bakery, and one of my favorites are snickerdoodles. They're a classic, right up there with chocolate chip, sugar, peanut
butter, or oatmeal raisin cookies. And you know what? You don't even have to go out and buy them. You can make them at home, and I can show you
how.
Regardless if you're cooking or baking, the first thing you should do is read the recipe you're following. You want to make sure that you not only have
the ingredients on hand, but enough to make the recipe. Secondly, you need to consider how many people you're serving. Do you wat a small...show

This serves a couple purposes: the sugar is distributed throughout the butter, and allows it to dissolve into the butter. Additionally, as you beat the
butter and sugar together, you're incorporating air into the batter, giving our cookies a lighter, fluffy texture. The air pockets in the cookie dough are
poor heat conductors, meaning that they help insulate the dough and slow down the rate that the butter and sugar melt (Parks). Ideally, butter that's
room temperature should be used for this process. It's not only easier to mix, but there's a science behind it. Butter that's too cold doesn't mix well and
doesn't get enough air bubbles. Using melted butter will get air bubbles in the batter, but will collapse and make the cookies thin (Robbins). After the
sugar and butter have been beaten into a fluffy paste, add the eggs and mix well.
In a separate medium sized bowl, you add the dry ingredients: 2 Вѕ cups flour, 2 tsp. Cream of tartar, 1 tsp. Baking soda, and ВЅ tsp. Salt. These are
whisked together and mixed separately. When you mix the dry ingredients separately, you ensure that the soda, salt, and cream of tartar are evenly
distributed. Mixing wet and dry ingredients separately allows each set to be mixed thoroughly on its own and combined together with little mixing. In
most cases overmixing creates a tough texture. Dry ingredients should be added gradually.
After the dough is mixed, you need to let it rest and chill in

Essay on Effective Communication Skills
Introduction
An important step to becoming an effective leader is to develop effective communication skills. Communication is the transmission of meaning from
one person to another or to many people, whether verbally or non–verbally (Barrett, 2006). Effective communication enables leaders to lead.
Effective communication occurs only if the receiver understands the exact information or idea that the sender intended to covey. As a leader, studying
the communication process is important. Communication skills, including the ability to problem solve, work in teams, and adapt to various audiences,
are critical in today's workplace (Levy& Murname, 2004). Since the most successful leaders communicate well, understanding how your...show more

The IHC instrument consists of 27 statements. Using a 5–point scale with 1 being strongly agree and 5 being strongly disagree, I rated each of the 27
statements. A score between 109 and 135 indicates an excellent understanding of the communication process. A score between 82 and 108 means
there are a few areas that need some work while a score between 54 and 81 suggests there are several areas that need attention. A score between 27and
53 implies across the board improvement is needed. This instrument heightened my understanding of my role as a sender and a receiver. It highlighted
the importance of asking questions and providing feedback in order to promote clarity. It stressed the significance of non–verbal communication so that
I not only hear, but also see what is being communicated to me. Finally, I learned the impact of using the appropriate communication channels for
maximum effectiveness.
Next, I used an updated version of Mok's (1975) Communication Style, to determine my communication style (see Appendix B). The Mok survey
was modified by Hartman and McCambridge (2010) using insights from Alessandra and Hunsaker (1993) and Merrill and Reid (1999). I chose this
survey instrument because it has been used in both academia and executive development programs over the last several years. The reason this
particular tool is popular in both academia and business is because it highlights the

Expository Essay-Personal Narrative
Hey! I know this is random and weird but I was reminded of a situation in which I need to apologize for something I said. A few months back we were
at basil 'n lime with some people from Oakey and my mom was wondering if I could get a ride where she was having dinner with Dave. I made the
comment "I knew she wasn't going to pick me up." That was a very disrespectful and false thing of me to say about my mom. She was on her way to
get me but they just thought if I could be dropped off where they were at that we three could hang out for a little bit. I gave my mom a really bad image
and I want to apologize for the things I said and I hope you forgive me. I know it was awhile ago but it had been sitting on my mind a lot and I needed

Essay Writing: Writing with Purpose
One–word essay:
The one–word essay is quite manageable as it allows you to decide which essay type you are going to write about. Take the topic "Floods". If you
choose to write an expository essay, you can write about the causes and effects of floods; if you choose to write a narrative essay, you can narrate a
story related to floods; and if you choose to write a descriptive essay, you can focus on describing floods.
Descriptive Essay:
WRITING a descriptive essay is perhaps more difficult than writing a narrative essay because it makes more demands on one's use of language.
In a descriptive essay, you need to give a detailed description of a person, place, object, experience or memory. Your description must be so effective

The general rule is that no new infor– mation should be brought into the conclusion: everything in the conclusion should logically follow from the
infor– mation provided to the reader in the paper. Just as in a detective story you don't want to п¬Ѓnd out in the last scene that the crime was
committed by a character you hadn't met, in an essay a reader doesn't want to be introduced in the conclusion to a major piece of information or
evidence which wasn't discussed in the body of the paper.
Writing Takes Practice
If all this information seems new or complicated, don't worry. Remember that practice will help you to improve your writing. And try following the
guidelines contained in the Fastfacts handout Improving Your Writing.
WORK HARD ON THE STRUCTURE/FLOW OF THE ESSAY
99% of you will be using the same sources of information so the overall structure is the thing that will largely differentiate one essay from another.
Once you havea clear structure, you will find it MAKES WRITING EASY (it's a matter of filling in the blanks, not a case of writing from scratch).
The essay structure will probably go through SEVERAL VERSIONS. Start off with relatively little regard for details – you shouldn't have to do
excessive reading to be able to generate a good essay structure.
So what makes a GOOD STRUCTURE? There are no

Expository Essay Rough Draft
Expository Essay: Rough Draft Everyone can feel, just like you and I, but there's one important question that lingers through the air. Should we
really be accepting of other people? To answer the question, yes! Although this does speak from opinion, it's essential to be accepting of others. It's
understandable to find laboriousness when looking through others, but we need to remember the reasons why it's imperative. To start off, we're all
the same! We're all people, but sometimes, we seem to overlook that part of us. We all process the same way, and I feel as if that's a good enough
reason to find acceptance. Something else to remember is that we all have emotions. When we don't accept eachother for who we are, our emotions can

Everything Wrong With School In 10 Minutes or Less!
When I was twelve, I had no appreciation for school. I saw it as nothing more as a glorified daycare center with all the rules and regulations
specifically designed to restrict as much fun as possible. Then one day in the ninth grade, I had a revelation: what if school was actually meant to build
me up with knowledge and facts and not just waste my time? This was the foundation I needed to get me through the next four years. Whenever I was
bored, I would remind myself that I 'd never have a "free" education like this again. I adapted particularly well to this system of tests, quizzes, and
science labs but I could never understand the hang up some people had with it. School was basic and easy and all it seemed to require was
consistency an+d proper scheduling. I looked at people who couldn 't understand US History or Geometry and I thought they were dumb. It wasn 't
until much later with much more reflection that I came to conclude there 's a difference between how you score on the SATs and how smart you
actually are. Education isn 't necessarily a direct line to becoming intelligent and knowledgeable; education is nothing more than an institution designed
to equip people with subsets of specialized processing methodologies, algorithms, and a fair bit of esoteric trivia. Furthermore, the current educational
system in place is inefficient because of its rigid nature.

Reflective Essay
I have been taking Expository Writing for 4 months. I have found that I need to be able to communicate myself in writing. I must relay exactly
what I'm trying to put forth to others and convey the right message of understanding. I must be able to explain myself, negotiate, and work in
teams. My language skills can be worked on and improved. I need to be able to pick up the language of whatever environment I'm in whether it be at
work or school, or in society. Since everyone does not have the same background, learning how to write the written word is important in any
environment. I have learned how to write and express myself, how to think for myself, and how to find answers to things I do not know. Most
important I have learned how to believe in my writing.
I was very hesitant in taking this English class, I have not taken an English class in many years. When I took the placement test for reading and
English, I tested out of all categories. I was proud of myself for that feat. When I found I was going to have to take a college level English class, I
avoided it at all costs. Too much pressure. However, I have learned about the Rhetorical Essay was to understand how an author writes and not focus
on what the content is. Knowing the explanation of what techniques and author uses to make their point come across to the intended audience. I
learned about Argumentative Research Paper is to debate both sides of an issue. The intent is to be unbiased and state the facts on either side. I
learned about Public Piece with Presentation is meant to deliver an effective presentation to engage your audience. Your audience listens to not only
what you are saying but your visual engagement in the topic being presented. Also, the point of the class is to be able to work with others to achieve
a desired outcome or task. To know that I can work with others in a cohesive environment to draw on everyone's input and views. This will assist me
in the real work of life and assist in handling many types of people and myself in communicating.
I have never been a good writer; however, I have learned that communication is not the same when writing. Having a conversation about aliens

Edgar Allan Poe Expository Essay
Edgar Allen Poe Do you like a little bit of strange and whimsical writing? Edgar Allen Poe wraps both of those adjectives into his writing. There is
a day in Pittsburgh where a reading of Edgar Allen Poe's works are read. We could benefit very much from this. If we go we would learn much
more about Edgar Allen Poe, we would be exposed to different types of literature, and we could help with the costs. We would learn a lot by going to
see this Edgar Allen Poe demonstration. Mr. Poe writes his stories with a lot of whimsy and strangeness. Here at school we are not often exposed to
that type of writing. Also, his writing style is different from other authors. He is not entirely focused on getting that perfect, happy ending. We will
also be exposed to culture. There is lots and lots of culture in Pittsburgh. Just driving driving down a street in a van we can learn very much. We can

Besides, being in the accelerated English class we don't have a literature class. This would be a perfect opportunity to include some literature into our

Heart," or "The Raven." Finally, while being there, we would be exposed to a few different types of literature, mainly poetry and fiction. We do not
often read a lot of poetry in school, and I highly doubt that students go home and read poetry of all things to read. These are just a few of all of the

  • 3. Expository Essay Vs Persuasive Writing Even though expository essays and persuasive essays both have research and a thesis statement, they are different in the way that expository explains while persuasive argues. The expository writer provides clarifying information about a topic while the persuasive writer presents an argument. The purpose of an expository essay is to explain to the reader your position without trying to get the reader to choose your side. In a persuasive essay you write to persuade the reader to choose an argument side. They are similar in the way on how they are structured they both require a thesis and a lot of research. • 4. How to Analyze an Expository Essay Expository writing, in general, is present everywhere. When you pick up a magazine or examine a newspaper article on the newsstand, you are reading a form of exposition because the author's main purpose of writing that article or essay is to inform the reader about a topic. In the classroom, many students are required to produce research papers about a specific topic, such as migration patterns of birds. The purpose of that research paper is to inform the reader, the teacher, about what are the migratory patterns of birds. Finally, at the workplace, many people are required to create business reports and memorandums to inform their supervisors and co–workers about the company's finances and progress. In order to analyze these expository ...show more content... "Good" directions for a process essay should satisfy the following criteria: clear, concise, organized, and acknowledges common mistakes. Within the model essay itself, it satisfies all of these requirements. The text describes, "when you find water becoming extremely hot (or cold)," the homeowner suggests that the guest, "exit the tub promptly while using a sweeping motion with one arm to push shower curtain aside"(Frazier 303). This piece of direction is clear because it plainly informs the guest on the actual action they have to perform in order to prevent hot or cold water from burning or freezing the guest. It is also concise because it does not include any irrelevant information pertaining to avoiding burning or freezing the guest. This essay is organized because when the author listed out his or her directions, he or she listed them out in chronological order. Lastly, "How to Operate the Shower Curtain" acknowledges common mistakes, such as "REMEMBER TO KEEP SHOWER CURTAIN INSIDE TUB AT ALL TIMES!" (Frasier 303). The author is cautioning the guest to keep the shower curtain within the bath tub no matter what. The reason for determining the kind of expository essay it is to help in determining the purpose of the exposition as a whole. • 5. The Importance Of Expository Reading Expository text is a very important form of reading material that is used to present content in different ways. Starting as early as kindergarten, children should be able to identify the main topic, ask and answer questions, and describe connections between two different pieces of information (Roehling, Hebert, Nelson, Bohaty, 2017). Teachers have problems with studentsreading expository text. It is sometimes more difficult to read than just regular story reading. Hebert, Bohaty, Nelson, and Brown conducted a meta–analysis on text structure instruction, concluding that it was an effective way to improve expository reading comprehension (Roehling, Hebert, Nelson, Bohaty, 2017). Different strategies were developed to help with understanding expository reading comprehension. Teachers play a big role in helping the students understand. They have to begin with clear learning objectives that outlines the skills teachers want their students to demonstrate by the end of the instruction (Roehling, Hebert, Nelson, Bohaty, 2017). Once the teacher decides on the learning objective, they can plan specific instructional strategies to help students achieve the objectives. If there is a clear goal from the teacher, things will be easier on the students. Identification strategies is a good start in recognizing the structure of an expository text. There are two possible goals of identification strategies: to recognize a single text structure or to discriminate among several possible text Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Specifically, thick, soft, buttery cookies like what you might find in a bakery, and one of my favorites are snickerdoodles. They're a classic, right up there with chocolate chip, sugar, peanut butter, or oatmeal raisin cookies. And you know what? You don't even have to go out and buy them. You can make them at home, and I can show you how. Regardless if you're cooking or baking, the first thing you should do is read the recipe you're following. You want to make sure that you not only have the ingredients on hand, but enough to make the recipe. Secondly, you need to consider how many people you're serving. Do you wat a small...show more content... This serves a couple purposes: the sugar is distributed throughout the butter, and allows it to dissolve into the butter. Additionally, as you beat the butter and sugar together, you're incorporating air into the batter, giving our cookies a lighter, fluffy texture. The air pockets in the cookie dough are poor heat conductors, meaning that they help insulate the dough and slow down the rate that the butter and sugar melt (Parks). Ideally, butter that's room temperature should be used for this process. It's not only easier to mix, but there's a science behind it. Butter that's too cold doesn't mix well and doesn't get enough air bubbles. Using melted butter will get air bubbles in the batter, but will collapse and make the cookies thin (Robbins). After the sugar and butter have been beaten into a fluffy paste, add the eggs and mix well. In a separate medium sized bowl, you add the dry ingredients: 2 Вѕ cups flour, 2 tsp. Cream of tartar, 1 tsp. Baking soda, and ВЅ tsp. Salt. These are whisked together and mixed separately. When you mix the dry ingredients separately, you ensure that the soda, salt, and cream of tartar are evenly distributed. Mixing wet and dry ingredients separately allows each set to be mixed thoroughly on its own and combined together with little mixing. In most cases overmixing creates a tough texture. Dry ingredients should be added gradually. After the dough is mixed, you need to let it rest and chill in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Essay on Effective Communication Skills Introduction An important step to becoming an effective leader is to develop effective communication skills. Communication is the transmission of meaning from one person to another or to many people, whether verbally or non–verbally (Barrett, 2006). Effective communication enables leaders to lead. Effective communication occurs only if the receiver understands the exact information or idea that the sender intended to covey. As a leader, studying the communication process is important. Communication skills, including the ability to problem solve, work in teams, and adapt to various audiences, are critical in today's workplace (Levy& Murname, 2004). Since the most successful leaders communicate well, understanding how your...show more content... The IHC instrument consists of 27 statements. Using a 5–point scale with 1 being strongly agree and 5 being strongly disagree, I rated each of the 27 statements. A score between 109 and 135 indicates an excellent understanding of the communication process. A score between 82 and 108 means there are a few areas that need some work while a score between 54 and 81 suggests there are several areas that need attention. A score between 27and 53 implies across the board improvement is needed. This instrument heightened my understanding of my role as a sender and a receiver. It highlighted the importance of asking questions and providing feedback in order to promote clarity. It stressed the significance of non–verbal communication so that I not only hear, but also see what is being communicated to me. Finally, I learned the impact of using the appropriate communication channels for maximum effectiveness. Next, I used an updated version of Mok's (1975) Communication Style, to determine my communication style (see Appendix B). The Mok survey was modified by Hartman and McCambridge (2010) using insights from Alessandra and Hunsaker (1993) and Merrill and Reid (1999). I chose this survey instrument because it has been used in both academia and executive development programs over the last several years. A few months back we were at basil 'n lime with some people from Oakey and my mom was wondering if I could get a ride where she was having dinner with Dave. I made the comment "I knew she wasn't going to pick me up." That was a very disrespectful and false thing of me to say about my mom. She was on her way to get me but they just thought if I could be dropped off where they were at that we three could hang out for a little bit. • 12. Essay Writing: Writing with Purpose One–word essay: The one–word essay is quite manageable as it allows you to decide which essay type you are going to write about. Take the topic "Floods". If you choose to write an expository essay, you can write about the causes and effects of floods; if you choose to write a narrative essay, you can narrate a story related to floods; and if you choose to write a descriptive essay, you can focus on describing floods. Just as in a detective story you don't want to п¬Ѓnd out in the last scene that the crime was committed by a character you hadn't met, in an essay a reader doesn't want to be introduced in the conclusion to a major piece of information or evidence which wasn't discussed in the body of the paper. Should we really be accepting of other people? To answer the question, yes! Although this does speak from opinion, it's essential to be accepting of others. It's understandable to find laboriousness when looking through others, but we need to remember the reasons why it's imperative. To start off, we're all the same! We're all people, but sometimes, we seem to overlook that part of us. We all process the same way, and I feel as if that's a good enough reason to find acceptance. Something else to remember is that we all have emotions. When we don't accept eachother for who we are, our emotions can get Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Expository Writing Rough Draft On School Kirk Zimmer Expository Writing Rough Draft Everything Wrong With School In 10 Minutes or Less! When I was twelve, I had no appreciation for school. I saw it as nothing more as a glorified daycare center with all the rules and regulations specifically designed to restrict as much fun as possible. Then one day in the ninth grade, I had a revelation: what if school was actually meant to build me up with knowledge and facts and not just waste my time? This was the foundation I needed to get me through the next four years. Whenever I was bored, I would remind myself that I 'd never have a "free" education like this again. I adapted particularly well to this system of tests, quizzes, and science labs but I could never understand the hang up some people had with it. School was basic and easy and all it seemed to require was consistency an+d proper scheduling. I looked at people who couldn 't understand US History or Geometry and I thought they were dumb. It wasn 't until much later with much more reflection that I came to conclude there 's a difference between how you score on the SATs and how smart you actually are. Education isn 't necessarily a direct line to becoming intelligent and knowledgeable; education is nothing more than an institution designed to equip people with subsets of specialized processing methodologies, algorithms, and a fair bit of esoteric trivia. Furthermore, the current educational system in place is inefficient because of its rigid nature. The current Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 20. Reflection Of Expository Writing Erwyn Suruy December 9, 2017 Eng 111 Reflective Essay I have been taking Expository Writing for 4 months. I have found that I need to be able to communicate myself in writing. I must relay exactly what I'm trying to put forth to others and convey the right message of understanding. I must be able to explain myself, negotiate, and work in teams. My language skills can be worked on and improved. I need to be able to pick up the language of whatever environment I'm in whether it be at work or school, or in society. Since everyone does not have the same background, learning how to write the written word is important in any environment. I have learned how to write and express myself, how to think for myself, and how to find answers to things I do not know. Most important I have learned how to believe in my writing. I was very hesitant in taking this English class, I have not taken an English class in many years. When I took the placement test for reading and English, I tested out of all categories. I was proud of myself for that feat. When I found I was going to have to take a college level English class, I avoided it at all costs. Too much pressure. However, I have learned about the Rhetorical Essay was to understand how an author writes and not focus on what the content is. Knowing the explanation of what techniques and author uses to make their point come across to the intended audience. I learned about Argumentative Research Paper is to debate both sides of an issue. The intent is to be unbiased and state the facts on either side. I learned about Public Piece with Presentation is meant to deliver an effective presentation to engage your audience. Your audience listens to not only what you are saying but your visual engagement in the topic being presented. Also, the point of the class is to be able to work with others to achieve a desired outcome or task. To know that I can work with others in a cohesive environment to draw on everyone's input and views. This will assist me in the real work of life and assist in handling many types of people and myself in communicating. I have never been a good writer; however, I have learned that communication is not the same when writing. Having a conversation about aliens Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 21. Edgar Allan Poe Expository Essay Edgar Allen Poe Do you like a little bit of strange and whimsical writing? Edgar Allen Poe wraps both of those adjectives into his writing. There is a day in Pittsburgh where a reading of Edgar Allen Poe's works are read. We could benefit very much from this. If we go we would learn much more about Edgar Allen Poe, we would be exposed to different types of literature, and we could help with the costs. We would learn a lot by going to see this Edgar Allen Poe demonstration. Mr. Poe writes his stories with a lot of whimsy and strangeness. Here at school we are not often exposed to that type of writing. Also, his writing style is different from other authors. He is not entirely focused on getting that perfect, happy ending. We will also be exposed to culture. There is lots and lots of culture in Pittsburgh. Just driving driving down a street in a van we can learn very much. We can learn so much by going to this event....show more content... Besides, being in the accelerated English class we don't have a literature class. This would be a perfect opportunity to include some literature into our class. Before or after we go we could write an expository essay on Edgar Allen Poe. We could also read some of his works. For example, " The Tell Tale Heart," or "The Raven." Finally, while being there, we would be exposed to a few different types of literature, mainly poetry and fiction. We do not often read a lot of poetry in school, and I highly doubt that students go home and read poetry of all things to read. These are just a few of all of the benefits we would gain by Get more content on HelpWriting.net
