In May2016, Haïti Priorise held its seventeenth sector expert roundtable to discuss the best solutions to improve infrastructure. Roundtable participants were asked to identify the strengths and weaknesses of current policy efforts and to propose actions they think should be prioritized as a means to improve infrastructure in Haiti.

government, donor organizations, civil society, development agencies, businesses,
youth, across rural and urban areas to identify, analyze and prioritize interventions

• Reduce the number of employees at city hall.
• Increase the budgetary allocation to SMCRS.
• Establish a waste processing center.
• Conduct prospecting and identify areas for establishing
landfills in in Cap Haitien and Carrefour.
• Reduce the waste trajectory to the landfills.
• Create an investment fund for social entrepreneurship
to encourage the collection, treatment, processing and
recycling (e.g. Viva Rio project in Carrefour Feuilles and
Cité Soleil).
• Produce biogas with solid waste.

• Digitize land registers and train surveyors and notaries.
• Simplify the process and reduce the cost of surveying a

• Reduce the verification time for processing and
verifying property titles, giving banks privileged access.

gourde per gallon of fuel.
• Use a public-private partnership to implement a pay
toll for national roads starting with the Cayes-Jeremie
road using different prices depending on the vehicle
class.
• Connect all national roads to enable the
interconnectivity of the whole territory.
• Build the road from Gonaives to Port-de-Paix.
