The Education Of High School Students Essay
Introduction
In today's education of high school students, are we keeping up with the 21st century, or, are we still doing the same old thing? The British started the
idea of traditional schools hundreds of years ago. After the American Revolution around the late 1700's, and the early 1800's, government–supported
schools started. These schools educated students of all ages in one room with one teacher. These schools were not free. In the late 1800's, high schools
were considered to be preparatory academies for students who were going to attend college. In the early 1900's, the same schools were transformed into
core elements now preparing students for work after high school. By the middle 1900's, states required students to attend school from the ages of 8–14
and to complete elementary school. They also switched their emphasis back to prepare students for the growing state and private universities. In 2001,
the United States entered its current era of education accountability/reform with the institution of the No Child Left Behind law. The Every Child
Succeeds Act has replaced No Child Left Behind. The 21st century calls for a higher–order of skills, abilities, and learning dispositions that society and
workplaces are expecting and demanding. Employers want deeper learning, analytic reasoning, complex problem solving, teamwork, and experience in
career fields.
I think you can agree that our technology is fantastic. We have gone one–to–one with computers,

My High School Journey
At the beginning of my high school journey, it was scary. Just the thought of a new school, meeting new people, and the fact that this would be my
last years before becoming an "adult" and getting closer to college, was unbelievable, yet scary. My high school journey had many ups and down.
These ups and downs vary because I experienced them in my academics and socially. I can't forget that I learned a lot and met many different
personalities, with people whom I trust and had many great times. Also as growing up throughout high school, I'm slowly seeing who I am. I know this
is not the end of life, just a great piece of my life will end and everything will soon change again. I can give so many advices to just start off great at
the beginning of anyone's high school journey. I think it's important to join clubs, activities,or sports so you can meet new people. It's important to
surround yourself with people who will take their education seriously because at the end of high school, you will see how far you got by being
surrounded with positive people and that's a benefit because you concentrate and achieve excellent grades and that leads to good colleges. Also,
joining more clubs and participating looks great with your cap and gown at the graduation! Another advice is do NOT procrastinate, I have done it
so many times and it sucks to sleep late and wake up early and by doing so, you avoid stress which is a pain in the butt. Do your homework, get good
grades, and ask

My High School Career Essay
Through out my high school career I never took my education seriously. For most of the four years it was a big blur. I'm not quite sure if it was
because of me or if I found myself blaming my surroundings or teachers for my lack of focus and strive to learn. A failure can mean different things to
everyone else. Maybe there's just different types or categories of failures. These failures are meant to teach us something, or motivate us to simply not
make these mistakes again.
I remember going into my freshman year of high school nervous but excited because I thought I'd learn so many new things. Next thing you know I
found myself dreading school. Was I being lazy? Was it my lack of motivation? I still can't grasp why exactly I lost that excitement or that yearning
to go to school. I was raised to have the idea that school was a place to learn not socialize. But at the age of 14, what teenagers don't want to socialize
and that's what got a hold of me. I spent too much time worrying about other things that didn't involve my education.
Once I became a junior in high school I had been too far in the process of skipping school, not paying attention, and putting all my focus on other
things. I'm not saying I didn't learn things while or whenever I did go to because I learned a lot of things but not enough. I didn't reach my full
potential. I think this was the year I made friends who weren't as great of influence. So, at this point my lack of focus on my education was because of

High School Graduation Essay
Graduation
Through out life people go through so many hardships. Whether it be good or bad there is always something that comes out of the situation. One of
the most exciting but yet scariest events would be graduation. For a lot of people, graduating from high school is a goal. It takes a lot of time and
effort to achieve that goal. In the long run, it opens a lot of opportunities for people to succeed. Graduation is the end of high school, and the
beginning to life. I can almost remember that day like it was yesterday, I awoke like on any other school day. It was a gorgeous May morning, therays
of sun flittered through my miniblinds blinding me as if I hadn't seen light in days. I sluggishly dragged my limp body out of...show more content...
Once I was finished, I gathered up my cap and gown and my car keys and headed out the door. All the graduates had to meet in the high school library
an hour before the ceremonies started, and I promised one of my best friends Tony that we would go together. I knocked on his back door and let
myself in like I always do. All of his family members were running throughout the house trying to get ready. I asked his mom where Tony was and
she proceeded to tell me that he was in the bathroom getting ready. I tapped on the door and walked in. He was standing in front of the mirror
with his cap and gown on. He look me straight in the eyes and said," Can you believe that we are about to graduate?" I replied," No, it really hasn't
set in yet." Tony finished getting ready, and then we left for the high school. The parking lot was filled with all the other seniors' cars. Tony and I
walked into the library ten minutes late like usual, and the principal had already started giving instructions. I found my place in line and then was all
ears. I couldn't help but look around at all the others. Smiles were plastered on their faces as if they had heard a hilarious joke. Once the principal
concluded his speech, the whole senior class paraded down the hallway to the commons in two uniform lines stopping just outside the gymnasium
doors. We could hear the band warming up and playing songs. All the people that were standing around me were bubbling

When Has High School Taught Me Essay
In school, I learned many ways the world has been changing, the people and the environment. Something that I like about the schools I went to, gives
the students a good environment to work and learn in. The teachers gave all the students a chance to learn what they had to teach us. School has given
me the education to get me where I am now, high school. My schools have given helped teach me a life lesson on how the world can give me a hard
time or go on smoothly, but most importantly, school has taught me to follow my dreams and never give up on what I think is right.
As school has given me a good place to study in, I like the places that are clean and safe rather than messy and unsafe. Even if my middle school
was a bit treacherous, I tried my best to ignore it all and work hard by thinking about how I wanted to end up, to live in the same house with my
parents for the rest of my life, or to go...show more content...
After each year of school, my teachers got better at teaching. I think it was because that they were given the talent to know what each student
understands and what the students don't understand. Over the years of going to school, I hear students saying,"I want to have a "fun" teacher for this
period." The thing about most "fun" teachers is that they don't really teach a lot and they concentrate on having fun with the students although I know
that not all "fun" teachers are bad at teaching. I would much rather have a smart teacher who has experience on actually teaching the kids because
school isn't a time to have fun, it's a time to learn what you don't know and understanding what you already know even better. I know that the teachers
give every kid to learn, but it is the student's decision if they want to go to school for the actual purpose of going to school, or go to school just to
mess around with

My Greatest Accomplishment In High School
A Found Friend I thought I knew everything about high school then I met Da'kevus Arceneaux. Well it was 7 o'clock in Ms. Phyllis's English 1 first
hour when De'kevus Arceneaux smoothly cruised into the classroom with a smile from ear to ear. De'kevus discussed with me how high school
changed him and helped him grow and he answered with a bright smile and clear answers. Speaking with De'kevus, I learned more about the high
school experience, coming of age and making future plans. Da'kevus had a very good experience when it came to sports and academics. I asked
Da'kevus, "What was your biggest accomplishment in high school and how did you accomplish it". Da'kevus answered "My biggest
accomplishment is where I am now, my senior year, you must stay focused and do what you need to do to get where you want to be.". Da'kevus
excelled very well in Track and Cross Country. Da'kevus said : I ran track because i love running.". Now I know more about Carencro High school, I
also learned more about Cross country. Da'kevus has matured so much during his years at Carencro High school. I asked Da'kevus "How has high
school changed you?" he answered by saying "High School changed me because at first I was shy but it changed me to open up to people and it taught
me how to speak to people, like you need to be able to speak to people for jobs and your life further beyond. Da'kevus and I were having a

The transition from high school into college is undoubtedly a very important time in the lives of many young people. It is a huge step, and a huge
change. There are some who cling to their fading high–school life, reluctant to let go and move on. Many of my friends would fall under this category.
Some of them seem more prepared for the increasingly near future than others, and they will have varying degrees of success in beginning their college
experience, be it near home or hours away. But Natalie is different than they are. Rather than getting caught up in the sentimentality of it all, she is
embracing the looming future with open arms.
Natalie Rogers is ready to move on. She is an 18–year–old senior at Coleman High School, and she feels absolutely prepared to move into the next
stage of her life. This puts her in the national minority. According to a country–wide survey, 45% of high school seniors feel prepared for college and a
career. She's not alone, however, in looking forward to the freedom and independence generally associated with college life. "I'm really excited that I
get to be on my own, make a lot of my own decisions, and kind of learn how to be independent. Because I haven't gotten a lot of that". One thing that
has become apparent to me is the value that Natalie places on independence.
However, in certain situations, she does consider herself to be dependent on others, sometimes very much so. I asked her if she considered herself to be
an independent

High School Volunteering Essay
Do you you think students should be required to volunteer in their communities to receive their high school diplomas? I for one do not think you
should be required to volunteer for your community in order to get your diploma. In my eyes no one should be forced to volunteer to do anything
however, volunteering does teach responsibility and builds character. Volunteering for something on your own shows what type of person you are
however, being forced to volunteer isn't really volunteering. I do not feel like you should be forced to volunteer for your community in order to get a
high school diploma but I do think volunteering is a good thing to do.
Volunteering for something is usually something you want to do, you do not volunteer for something

My Journey As A High School Student Essay
At around this time four years back, I was just beginning my journey as a high school student. I had decided that I wanted to tryout for my schools '
dance team. I had previously danced with a studio by the name of Barton and Williams School of Dance, since the age of three, so I was excited to
learn that I could be on a team at my school. I received all of the information that was necessary regarding the tryout dates, along with the paperwork
that would be needed. We had to learn two combinations, as well as the actual tryoutdance, within three days. On the day of the judging portion of
the tryouts, everyone received a number. The judges would throw us into groups of three or four by randomly choosing our numbers. We needed
to perform the two combinations individually and the actual routine as a group. Once all of the groups were done, we had to wait for a good two
or three hours for the results. Everyone had been so nervous. Finally, the judges entered the room and posted the list of the numbers of the people
who had made the cut onto the wall. I was so excited to see my number on the list and to be able to say that I had made it. In the very beginning of
the season, my team attended the National Dance Alliance camp, or NDA camp. This camp consists of nothing but dance for four days and three
nights. It is located in Maryland, at Towson University, so we had to rent a bus in order to get there. About a month before camp, the team hired a

My High School Experience Essay
When people start high school they're usually so excited. They can't wait to experience everything that comes with being in high school, I mean
who wouldn't? Everyone says that high school is the best four years of your life. Now that I'm months away from graduating, I can't say they were
my best years but I can say they were my most educational years, of course I wouldn't say that they weren't fun because they were. When I say
educational, I mean I've learned so much about myself and so much about life. I learned what the words family, love, betrayal, law and life meant. All
these events changed me, and I'm glad they happened because I wouldn't have learned all these lessons. My personality hasn't changed; I'm still a

My freshmen and sophomore year, I had my first real boyfriend. I was completely and totally in love with this guy, he changed me in ways that I'm
proud of and ways that I'm not proud of. I revolved my world around him, which wasn't a good idea. After almost two years of dating, we broke up
and it literally shattered my world. During our relationship I became friends with his friends and I even considered one of them my best friends,
so when we broke up I didn't only loose him, I lost all of them as well. It felt so awful to all of a sudden have everything, and then just lose
everything in a day. A couple of weeks later, I found out that my best friend was actually dating my ex boyfriend. I couldn't believe that a person
could betray someone like that, especially after everything that she and I went through together. I'm not proud of the events that happened after
all of this, and I'm not proud of how I let them change me. The one thing that saved me was my family; they saved me in ways I can't even explain.
They gave me hope and a new life for me that I am extremely grateful for. I've learned to be wiser when it comes to picking friends, and choosing
who to put my trust in. I also became a stronger person, I don't let people walk all over me or I don't let people control my life anymore. The last
event is the one that taught me the most about how hard life is, and how life isn't always fair. My junior year was spent in Tijuana,

want this school to be the reason I enjoy learning about the world outside school and prepare me for the future. I had been to the hospital many
times. For my own sake or for others. Every Time I would walk down one of the corridors, I would be amazed by all of the doctors and how they spent

helping other people and keeping them healthy. They study the human body and how our understanding can benefit humans in the future. I was
always interested in the human body and its functions. Anyone can make a change in the life of humans and I want to make a change. As I

skills to help me throughout high school. I have learned these skills throughout my years in school. Ever since my first day of school to this very day
that will benefit me during and past my school years. For instance, I work better with others than by myself. I am an exceptional listener and my am

Essay on Attending High School
High School
Do you remember your high school days? High school
for me has proved to be a learning experience and also a
challenge. There are many lessons that can be learned.
You can learn more about yourself, who your friends are,
what kind of help is offered to you, and what your
strengths and your weaknesses are. Attending
High School helped build my confidence because my
classmates were supportive, my teachers taught me how to
study for tests, and the math tutors helped me overcome
my fear of math.
My classmates were supportive in many ways. I used
to attend study groups for the subjects that I was
struggling in. In these meetings with each other,we
would study our notes and review...show more content...
Most students would wait until the last
minute to study and try to cram all the information on a
test in one night. But my teachers stressed that studying
a little bit at a time would be the best way to go about
learning the material. Another way they tried to provoke
studying would be by telling us to study in a group.
This method worked, but the method that I found that
helped me the most was by using flash cards. It was a
good way of studying especially for a test that had lots
of definitions on it. But I found it much easier to look at
a single piece of information instead of a whole page of
notes at one time. Overall, teachers do not just teach you
the facts from the books. They can help you sharpen your
study skills by showing you new ways of learning.
Lastly, the tutors at the school helped me to overcome my
biggest fear and that was math. They helped me realize
that if you take math one step at a time, it will be a
lot easier than trying to learn it all at once. The
tutors also made it easier for me by teaching me to
relate math to something I enjoy. A simple example would be
if you were having problems with percents. And they would
tell you to relate it to something like when you go shopping
and clothes have a certain discount. It carries the same
principle. And this method can help you overcome a fear

High School Students on the Job Essay
High school students on the job
We spend four years of our lives attending high school. Going through high school is supposed to prepare us for college and "the real world."
Throughout these four years we begin to better understand our choices for college majors, but we don't get presented with the financial and time
struggle that we will face. College costs money, along with everyday living. Whenattending college we become more independent and are faced with
the problem of coming up with money and finding a balance between time for work and school. Though it may seem like working through high school
is a bad idea, it could better prepare students for "the real world."

It would be much more difficult to learn these things when one is dependent on themselves. It raises the risk of struggles with money.
There are many students that have the ability to stay very focused on their educational goals. These students tend to do very well academically and do
not need a lot of stimuli to help them get moving. There are other students who are not in the same boat. Some students become very frustrated with the
day–to–day routine of going to school. These students tend to benefit from having the option of working outside of school. They begin to see that
working hard does pay off. The feeling of satisfaction they receive may motivate them to work harder at succeeding in school. They will understand
that though it is a lot of hard work, the more effort they put into their education, the better off they will be. They will get higher paying jobs that suit
their character if they continue to work hard through high school and go to college.
A student's first job may not be glorious. Chances are it will be at a fast food restaurant or department store. A student's first job will bring a self of
satisfaction, but will also help to bring to a student's attention that this is not what they want to be doing for the rest of their lives. If a student may not
be doing very well in school,

High School Internships
When thinking about graduating high school and going into college, do you ever think that you will get a job right when you graduate? Yes that may
be the case for some individuals but for the more technical jobs and the ones that require more schooling for, look for student who have experience with
their major. It is important to know the different internships that are offered throughout high school and college.

question is that why don't they offer any internships through the school year and only during the summer?
I want to know why the only common internships for the medical field are offered during summer hours and not during the school year. Frenchtown
High School 2013–2014 Registration Course Selection Guide stated that "Frenchtown requires student to have 24 credits to graduate. As you get
older you are offered more elective classes to take. You have eight classes per semester attending four each day" (6). Most students toward the end of
their senior year already have 20–22 credits, meaning you only need two more credits to be eligible to graduate. These seniors have so much time on
their hands, and they end up taking work releases or classes they don't enjoy doing. As a senior myself I find myself taking classes that I don't need,
but take just to fill in a class period. Having this said, there is so much time on their hands to be able to do an internship during the school year, and
not just in the summer. As I interviewed both our High School Principal Jake

Now how can you learn if you're not interested? This is when the teacher should consider providing fun and games, praise, and love within the
classrooms, making the classroom exciting and more interesting.
Before entering the classrooms, teachers should sit and study each individual student and learn their likes and dislikes. They should know what
particular student need help in what particular subject. Some students need more help in other subjects than other students. This is when teachers
should consider making their lesson plans focusing on subject matters that are current and relevant to high school students, implementing cooperative
learning strategies with their lesson plans while students show off their talents. If students are demonstrating what they have learned in a skit, they
tend to learn more positively. When providing fun and game within the classrooms, the students are excited about attending class because they
already know something very eventful is going to take place in that particular class. Not only are they learning they are having fun while doing so.
They are able to act out some of their personal talents, giving others a sense of who they really are, and what some of their greater skills may be. As

that appeals to their strengths, you're giving them a chance

My High School Year Essay
There was a point in my time where I enjoyed school and took pleasure in attending school and that was elementary. Those were the best school years
of my life, having nothing to care about, the school lunch was unbelievably amazing and we had recess. Middle school was manageable but was also
beginning to become tough because the classes were becoming difficult. As we approach the beginning of ourhigh school career, parents and teachers
always tell us students that it's the best four years of our life, which in my case I did not find high school fascinating or enjoyable. I found high
school to be very stressful, overwhelming and not easy, understanding that the next four years of my life will be filled with obstacles and
challenges that I will face. I knew that I would have challenges with my courses, but I did not think I would have trouble with my emotions such as
feeling depressed, sad, or that I would cry every other day, but to some teachers or parents thought it was normal for teenagers because we are going
through different phases of our life. My freshman year was probably the best year of my high school year but I did face many challenges. I was
immature, did not obey my teachers, always getting in some sort of trouble. I was carefree, fun, outgoing and had decent memories whether they were
good memories or bad memories. Towards the middle of my freshman year I found out that I had Hyperthyroidism, and was quite confused and did not

Why I Want To Attend High School?
When I was in middle school, I truly didn't care for school. I just thought it was a mandatory part of the everyday adolescent child. I came to school
each day dreading the fact that I have to sit for hours and listen to lectures that I thought to myself that I don't need in the future. It was the beginning
of the second semester in eighth grade, I was called in by my advisor. She told me that if I don't improve my grades, I would have to repeat a grade,
and I would have to wait two years until I enter high school. This unnerving fact stopped me in my tracks, and I remember the cold feeling that
suddenly surged through my body. There was a possibility that I could fail and repeat a grade. And so I thought to myself, is this really how I want to

I studied day and night, I took initiative by asking my teachers questions every time I was confused, and I actually started to enjoy the lectures my
teachers were giving me because I actually started to listen to what they are saying. By the end of the school year, my grades were relatively impressive,
from almost failing, to practically succeeding.
I entered high school, and I made it a personal promise and goal to absolutely succeed and push my limits. So far, I have succeeded with this goal.
From the beginning of my freshman year, I made sure I took the maximum amount of classes, and I finished each course with an A. I took advantage
of an internship program at my school, where I shadowed one of the science teachers at my school. Throughout my Sophomore year, I continued this.
I finished each course with an A, except for Biology, for which I finished it with a B. I am now in my senior year, and I continue to be successful with
all of my classes.
I deeply care about my grades, and I go through a great extent to make sure I finish each course with exemplary results, but I cannot not get good
grades if I am not motivated by

The Education Of High School Students Essay

  • 1. The Education Of High School Students Essay Introduction In today's education of high school students, are we keeping up with the 21st century, or, are we still doing the same old thing? The British started the idea of traditional schools hundreds of years ago. After the American Revolution around the late 1700's, and the early 1800's, government–supported schools started. These schools educated students of all ages in one room with one teacher. These schools were not free. In the late 1800's, high schools were considered to be preparatory academies for students who were going to attend college. In the early 1900's, the same schools were transformed into core elements now preparing students for work after high school. By the middle 1900's, states required students to attend school from the ages of 8–14 and to complete elementary school. They also switched their emphasis back to prepare students for the growing state and private universities. In 2001, the United States entered its current era of education accountability/reform with the institution of the No Child Left Behind law. The Every Child Succeeds Act has replaced No Child Left Behind. The 21st century calls for a higher–order of skills, abilities, and learning dispositions that society and workplaces are expecting and demanding. Employers want deeper learning, analytic reasoning, complex problem solving, teamwork, and experience in career fields. I think you can agree that our technology is fantastic. We have gone one–to–one with computers, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. My High School Journey At the beginning of my high school journey, it was scary. Just the thought of a new school, meeting new people, and the fact that this would be my last years before becoming an "adult" and getting closer to college, was unbelievable, yet scary. My high school journey had many ups and down. These ups and downs vary because I experienced them in my academics and socially. I can't forget that I learned a lot and met many different personalities, with people whom I trust and had many great times. Also as growing up throughout high school, I'm slowly seeing who I am. I know this is not the end of life, just a great piece of my life will end and everything will soon change again. I can give so many advices to just start off great at the beginning of anyone's high school journey. I think it's important to join clubs, activities,or sports so you can meet new people. It's important to surround yourself with people who will take their education seriously because at the end of high school, you will see how far you got by being surrounded with positive people and that's a benefit because you concentrate and achieve excellent grades and that leads to good colleges. Also, joining more clubs and participating looks great with your cap and gown at the graduation! Another advice is do NOT procrastinate, I have done it so many times and it sucks to sleep late and wake up early and by doing so, you avoid stress which is a pain in the butt. Do your homework, get good grades, and ask Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. My High School Career Essay Through out my high school career I never took my education seriously. For most of the four years it was a big blur. I'm not quite sure if it was because of me or if I found myself blaming my surroundings or teachers for my lack of focus and strive to learn. A failure can mean different things to everyone else. Maybe there's just different types or categories of failures. These failures are meant to teach us something, or motivate us to simply not make these mistakes again. I remember going into my freshman year of high school nervous but excited because I thought I'd learn so many new things. Next thing you know I found myself dreading school. Was I being lazy? Was it my lack of motivation? I still can't grasp why exactly I lost that excitement or that yearning to go to school. I was raised to have the idea that school was a place to learn not socialize. But at the age of 14, what teenagers don't want to socialize and that's what got a hold of me. I spent too much time worrying about other things that didn't involve my education. Once I became a junior in high school I had been too far in the process of skipping school, not paying attention, and putting all my focus on other things. I'm not saying I didn't learn things while or whenever I did go to because I learned a lot of things but not enough. I didn't reach my full potential. I think this was the year I made friends who weren't as great of influence. So, at this point my lack of focus on my education was because of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. High School Graduation Essay Graduation Through out life people go through so many hardships. Whether it be good or bad there is always something that comes out of the situation. One of the most exciting but yet scariest events would be graduation. For a lot of people, graduating from high school is a goal. It takes a lot of time and effort to achieve that goal. In the long run, it opens a lot of opportunities for people to succeed. Graduation is the end of high school, and the beginning to life. I can almost remember that day like it was yesterday, I awoke like on any other school day. It was a gorgeous May morning, therays of sun flittered through my miniblinds blinding me as if I hadn't seen light in days. I sluggishly dragged my limp body out of...show more content... Once I was finished, I gathered up my cap and gown and my car keys and headed out the door. All the graduates had to meet in the high school library an hour before the ceremonies started, and I promised one of my best friends Tony that we would go together. I knocked on his back door and let myself in like I always do. All of his family members were running throughout the house trying to get ready. I asked his mom where Tony was and she proceeded to tell me that he was in the bathroom getting ready. I tapped on the door and walked in. He was standing in front of the mirror with his cap and gown on. He look me straight in the eyes and said," Can you believe that we are about to graduate?" I replied," No, it really hasn't set in yet." Tony finished getting ready, and then we left for the high school. The parking lot was filled with all the other seniors' cars. Tony and I walked into the library ten minutes late like usual, and the principal had already started giving instructions. I found my place in line and then was all ears. I couldn't help but look around at all the others. Smiles were plastered on their faces as if they had heard a hilarious joke. Once the principal concluded his speech, the whole senior class paraded down the hallway to the commons in two uniform lines stopping just outside the gymnasium doors. We could hear the band warming up and playing songs. All the people that were standing around me were bubbling Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. When Has High School Taught Me Essay In school, I learned many ways the world has been changing, the people and the environment. Something that I like about the schools I went to, gives the students a good environment to work and learn in. The teachers gave all the students a chance to learn what they had to teach us. School has given me the education to get me where I am now, high school. My schools have given helped teach me a life lesson on how the world can give me a hard time or go on smoothly, but most importantly, school has taught me to follow my dreams and never give up on what I think is right. As school has given me a good place to study in, I like the places that are clean and safe rather than messy and unsafe. Even if my middle school was a bit treacherous, I tried my best to ignore it all and work hard by thinking about how I wanted to end up, to live in the same house with my parents for the rest of my life, or to go...show more content... After each year of school, my teachers got better at teaching. I think it was because that they were given the talent to know what each student understands and what the students don't understand. Over the years of going to school, I hear students saying,"I want to have a "fun" teacher for this period." The thing about most "fun" teachers is that they don't really teach a lot and they concentrate on having fun with the students although I know that not all "fun" teachers are bad at teaching. I would much rather have a smart teacher who has experience on actually teaching the kids because school isn't a time to have fun, it's a time to learn what you don't know and understanding what you already know even better. I know that the teachers give every kid to learn, but it is the student's decision if they want to go to school for the actual purpose of going to school, or go to school just to mess around with Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. My Greatest Accomplishment In High School A Found Friend I thought I knew everything about high school then I met Da'kevus Arceneaux. Well it was 7 o'clock in Ms. Phyllis's English 1 first hour when De'kevus Arceneaux smoothly cruised into the classroom with a smile from ear to ear. De'kevus discussed with me how high school changed him and helped him grow and he answered with a bright smile and clear answers. Speaking with De'kevus, I learned more about the high school experience, coming of age and making future plans. Da'kevus had a very good experience when it came to sports and academics. I asked Da'kevus, "What was your biggest accomplishment in high school and how did you accomplish it". Da'kevus answered "My biggest accomplishment is where I am now, my senior year, you must stay focused and do what you need to do to get where you want to be.". Da'kevus excelled very well in Track and Cross Country. Da'kevus said : I ran track because i love running.". Now I know more about Carencro High school, I also learned more about Cross country. Da'kevus has matured so much during his years at Carencro High school. I asked Da'kevus "How has high school changed you?" he answered by saying "High School changed me because at first I was shy but it changed me to open up to people and it taught me how to speak to people, like you need to be able to speak to people for jobs and your life further beyond. Da'kevus and I were having a conversations about the best advice a teacher has ever gave him, he answer with a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. The transition from high school into college is undoubtedly a very important time in the lives of many young people. It is a huge step, and a huge change. There are some who cling to their fading high–school life, reluctant to let go and move on. Many of my friends would fall under this category. Some of them seem more prepared for the increasingly near future than others, and they will have varying degrees of success in beginning their college experience, be it near home or hours away. But Natalie is different than they are. Rather than getting caught up in the sentimentality of it all, she is embracing the looming future with open arms. Natalie Rogers is ready to move on. She is an 18–year–old senior at Coleman High School, and she feels absolutely prepared to move into the next stage of her life. This puts her in the national minority. According to a country–wide survey, 45% of high school seniors feel prepared for college and a career. She's not alone, however, in looking forward to the freedom and independence generally associated with college life. "I'm really excited that I get to be on my own, make a lot of my own decisions, and kind of learn how to be independent. Because I haven't gotten a lot of that". One thing that has become apparent to me is the value that Natalie places on independence. However, in certain situations, she does consider herself to be dependent on others, sometimes very much so. I asked her if she considered herself to be an independent Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. High School Volunteering Essay Do you you think students should be required to volunteer in their communities to receive their high school diplomas? I for one do not think you should be required to volunteer for your community in order to get your diploma. In my eyes no one should be forced to volunteer to do anything however, volunteering does teach responsibility and builds character. Volunteering for something on your own shows what type of person you are however, being forced to volunteer isn't really volunteering. I do not feel like you should be forced to volunteer for your community in order to get a high school diploma but I do think volunteering is a good thing to do. Volunteering for something is usually something you want to do, you do not volunteer for something Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. My Journey As A High School Student Essay At around this time four years back, I was just beginning my journey as a high school student. I had decided that I wanted to tryout for my schools ' dance team. I had previously danced with a studio by the name of Barton and Williams School of Dance, since the age of three, so I was excited to learn that I could be on a team at my school. I received all of the information that was necessary regarding the tryout dates, along with the paperwork that would be needed. We had to learn two combinations, as well as the actual tryoutdance, within three days. On the day of the judging portion of the tryouts, everyone received a number. The judges would throw us into groups of three or four by randomly choosing our numbers. We needed to perform the two combinations individually and the actual routine as a group. Once all of the groups were done, we had to wait for a good two or three hours for the results. Everyone had been so nervous. Finally, the judges entered the room and posted the list of the numbers of the people who had made the cut onto the wall. I was so excited to see my number on the list and to be able to say that I had made it. In the very beginning of the season, my team attended the National Dance Alliance camp, or NDA camp. This camp consists of nothing but dance for four days and three nights. It is located in Maryland, at Towson University, so we had to rent a bus in order to get there. About a month before camp, the team hired a guest choreographer to teach Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. My High School Experience Essay When people start high school they're usually so excited. They can't wait to experience everything that comes with being in high school, I mean who wouldn't? Everyone says that high school is the best four years of your life. Now that I'm months away from graduating, I can't say they were my best years but I can say they were my most educational years, of course I wouldn't say that they weren't fun because they were. When I say educational, I mean I've learned so much about myself and so much about life. I learned what the words family, love, betrayal, law and life meant. All these events changed me, and I'm glad they happened because I wouldn't have learned all these lessons. My personality hasn't changed; I'm still a carefree girl,...show more content... My freshmen and sophomore year, I had my first real boyfriend. I was completely and totally in love with this guy, he changed me in ways that I'm proud of and ways that I'm not proud of. I revolved my world around him, which wasn't a good idea. After almost two years of dating, we broke up and it literally shattered my world. During our relationship I became friends with his friends and I even considered one of them my best friends, so when we broke up I didn't only loose him, I lost all of them as well. It felt so awful to all of a sudden have everything, and then just lose everything in a day. A couple of weeks later, I found out that my best friend was actually dating my ex boyfriend. I couldn't believe that a person could betray someone like that, especially after everything that she and I went through together. I'm not proud of the events that happened after all of this, and I'm not proud of how I let them change me. The one thing that saved me was my family; they saved me in ways I can't even explain. They gave me hope and a new life for me that I am extremely grateful for. I've learned to be wiser when it comes to picking friends, and choosing who to put my trust in. I also became a stronger person, I don't let people walk all over me or I don't let people control my life anymore. The last event is the one that taught me the most about how hard life is, and how life isn't always fair. My junior year was spent in Tijuana, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

There are many lessons that can be learned. You can learn more about yourself, who your friends are, what kind of help is offered to you, and what your strengths and your weaknesses are. Most students would wait until the last minute to study and try to cram all the information on a test in one night. But my teachers stressed that studying a little bit at a time would be the best way to go about learning the material. Another way they tried to provoke studying would be by telling us to study in a group. This method worked, but the method that I found that helped me the most was by using flash cards. It was a good way of studying especially for a test that had lots of definitions on it. But I found it much easier to look at a single piece of information instead of a whole page of notes at one time. Overall, teachers do not just teach you the facts from the books. They can help you sharpen your study skills by showing you new ways of learning. Lastly, the tutors at the school helped me to overcome my biggest fear and that was math. They helped me realize

The tutors also made it easier for me by teaching me to relate math to something I enjoy. A simple example would be if you were having problems with percents. I guess my real question is that why don't they offer any internships through the school year and only during the summer? I want to know why the only common internships for the medical field are offered during summer hours and not during the school year. Frenchtown High School 2013–2014 Registration Course Selection Guide stated that "Frenchtown requires student to have 24 credits to graduate. As you get older you are offered more elective classes to take. You have eight classes per semester attending four each day" (6). Most students toward the end of their senior year already have 20–22 credits, meaning you only need two more credits to be eligible to graduate. These seniors have so much time on their hands, and they end up taking work releases or classes they don't enjoy doing. As a senior myself I find myself taking classes that I don't need, but take just to fill in a class period. • 20. My High School Year Essay There was a point in my time where I enjoyed school and took pleasure in attending school and that was elementary. Those were the best school years of my life, having nothing to care about, the school lunch was unbelievably amazing and we had recess. Middle school was manageable but was also beginning to become tough because the classes were becoming difficult. As we approach the beginning of ourhigh school career, parents and teachers always tell us students that it's the best four years of our life, which in my case I did not find high school fascinating or enjoyable. I found high school to be very stressful, overwhelming and not easy, understanding that the next four years of my life will be filled with obstacles and challenges that I will face. I knew that I would have challenges with my courses, but I did not think I would have trouble with my emotions such as feeling depressed, sad, or that I would cry every other day, but to some teachers or parents thought it was normal for teenagers because we are going through different phases of our life. My freshman year was probably the best year of my high school year but I did face many challenges. I was immature, did not obey my teachers, always getting in some sort of trouble. I was carefree, fun, outgoing and had decent memories whether they were good memories or bad memories. Towards the middle of my freshman year I found out that I had Hyperthyroidism, and was quite confused and did not understand what it meant. As I Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I came to school each day dreading the fact that I have to sit for hours and listen to lectures that I thought to myself that I don't need in the future. It was the beginning of the second semester in eighth grade, I was called in by my advisor. She told me that if I don't improve my grades, I would have to repeat a grade, and I would have to wait two years until I enter high school. This unnerving fact stopped me in my tracks, and I remember the cold feeling that suddenly surged through my body. There was a possibility that I could fail and repeat a grade. And so I thought to myself, is this really how I want to continue my life? Is...show more content... I entered high school, and I made it a personal promise and goal to absolutely succeed and push my limits. So far, I have succeeded with this goal. From the beginning of my freshman year, I made sure I took the maximum amount of classes, and I finished each course with an A. I took advantage of an internship program at my school, where I shadowed one of the science teachers at my school. Throughout my Sophomore year, I continued this. I finished each course with an A, except for Biology, for which I finished it with a B. I am now in my senior year, and I continue to be successful with all of my classes.
