Persuasive Essay For High School
Junior high, easy right? You do your work have minimal homework don't even worry about studying. High school is an entirely different animal.
High school compared to junior high is like a sheep on a farm to a sheep in west africa being hunted constantly by blood hungry lions. Prepare to
walk into a living hell. But also be prepared to accept all the new freedoms that come along with high school. In junior high it's a glorified babysitting
service for the children, in high school you have a job and your grades reflect how well you do your job. Surround yourself with friends who are
motivated in their schoolwork just as much or more than you are. If you can handle all of the work that high school gives then take a walk on the
bright side and join a sport, it will help you immensely in your social life. My advice to any incoming freshman study Charles Darwin, adapt or die.
The work load of middle school is minute compared to the amount given by the high school teachers, especially if you get Chris Limback as a
teacher. Be prepared to make study habits if you haven't already and even if it's just for 20 minutes a night try to make some time to study. Just
simply reviewing the notes you took in class and going over them a couple times to yourself can drastically pull your grade in almost any class up.
If all your teachers decide to assign homework on the same day ( and it will happen), don't freak out and give up form a plan as to how you are going
to approach getting it done and

Middle School Persuasive Essay
Middle school. Clusters of kids standing in the middle of the hallway acting like blocked off signs you would see during construction on the highway.
Random conversations fill the air, as you acquire tiny fragments of a different person's conversation each time you pass by. It seems scary, but it's quite
the adventure. Middle school and High school can be really hard for kids, and for some it comes really easy for. Some kids don't know who they are
yet, and are trying to discover who they're meant to be. That's why one word of advice I would give to any Middle–schooler or High–schooler would
to be to "Find your purpose, and stay with it." We all have our own destinies. Whether it's God's future planned for you, or your dreamt future.

Recess Will Ronco RB3
Middle school students should have a 20 minute or more recess because not only would kids be happier and healthier but they would do better in
school. One reason middle schools should have recess is that kids are supposed to exercise 30 minutes every day to stay healthy. If kids don't get
enough exercise, they become obese and unhealthy. Adding on, when kids are outside their bodies get Vitamin D from the sun and this gives their bodies
nutrition and when they are inside they do not get this nutrition that is needed to keep them healthy. Vitamin D helps kids develop muscles and grow,
so it is very important for the to get enough. Also, a third reason middle schools should have a 20 minute recess is that kids get very stressed over
homework and school projects and if they are outside for 20 minutes studies show that kids forget about their homework and enjoy socializing with
other people. Middle School students should not have a 20 minute recess. One reason is that there is a prodigious amount of bullying occurring on the
playground. This results in kids feeling left out or melancholy, problems like this could be stopped if there was no recess. Another reason is that time
spent on recess could be spent on more mind challenging things like math or writing. More time being practiced on these skills would result in a better
overall performance. Adding on, another reason is that kids

Persuasive Essay About School Sports
I see that it has come to your concern that you may or may not want to not fund school sports. I would like to share that I think funding school sports
would be a excellent idea. As a student myself that does sports outside of school. Sports help me to focus more on getting my responsibilities done. If
you have to do well in school to be able to participate in your favorite sport kids will strive to get better grades and try to do the best they can do in
school to get the best grades they can. Students enjoy watching and playing the sports.School sports will give students opportunities in life and will
have a good learning experience through the love of sports. I think that playing school sports will help students strive in school.
Students enjoy playing for the team and getting fan love from the other students In "What's in the name of football?" Students that are fans for the

Speech In Middle School
I remember when I was in Middle School, my teacher told me that I had to write and recite a speech in front of the whole school and four judges.
The speech that I had to recite was about the career I wanted to study when I started attending college. In that moment, I was feeling very nervous
about the speech and also worried that the message I gave that day was going to be successful and approved by the school and judges. The recitation of
the speech was a week away, and it was vital for me to acknowledge everything about the encoding of my speech.I started thinking about my
communication techniques to use in the recitation. Since the judges were ethical listeners, I needed to give my best in the speech in order to obtain a

Persuasive Essay On STEM Education
Everyone wants what is best for their children, right? If that is true, then schools need to start preparing their students for the challenges they will meet
in college and the skills to overcome them. This is best done through the presence of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in middle
and high schools. Through Wisconsin schools furthering their focus on STEM with extracurriculars, students will gain vital skills that are necessary
for human progression, problem–solving and time management skills that can be used in real life, and the students learn how they can apply what is
being taught in the classroom to real obstacles and challenges. It is clear that STEM is a rapidly growing and advancing field that is needed for our
human progression. There are so many different professions that fall under STEM education and many of them impact the world every day. According
to former President Barack Obama "[Science] is more than a school subject, or the periodic table, or the properties of waves. It is an approach to the
world, a critical way to understand and explore and engage with the world, and then have the capacity to change that world" (Science, Technology,
Engineering and Math). Here, former President Obama is talking about how important science is as more than just a school subject; science can be
taken out of school and used to impact many people and change the world. Some may say that there have been other fields in history that became very
popular but

School Promotion Persuasive Essay
It has been a very busy summer, and it is hard to believe that the kids have been back in school a few weeks already. As you settle into your school
routine, remember to keep your children involved in church. Sunday school promotion will be Sept.6th. Wanda Sparks will again be teaching the 3
and 4 year old class. Kindergarten through second grade is taught by Linda Treadway. Third through fifth grade teachers are Kim Bennett and Tony
Baker. Children's Church will also start on Sept. 6th. Toddlers and 3 and 4 year olds will stay in their classroom for Sunday school and church.

Persuasive Essay On Public School Education
Public school education seemed to prepare me for every piece of knowledge necessary; with the exception of common adult skills. Following
graduation, this went unnoticed until I was faced with situations that I was not prepared for. There is undoubtedly a flaw in today's education system
when high school seniors graduate without the common knowledge to perform necessary adult tasks. Schools need to place a higher priority on
teaching life skills rather than strictly focusing on educational facts. Budget cuts have taken beneficial information, such as life skills, out of the school's
itinerary. When essential life lessons are left out of teacher handbooks, students are left to self teach the information that could have been taught
otherwise. This results in young adults who are hopeful not to generate monumental mistakes while making potentially life altering decisions; through
trial and error.
First of all, schools tend to prioritize some ineffective information within each core subject. For example, memorizing the periodic table is often a
requirement in high school science classes. While the information may be fascinating, this skill will rarely be used within the lifetime of any of the
students spending quality time to load this information into their brains. Likewise, in history class weeks are spent reciting specific qualities of our
first presidential families' personal lives. While it is vital to teach students about our presidents to understand democracy, lessons go astray when
extending out on personal information like the illness of Abraham Lincoln's son, for instance. These lessons can take away time that students could
spend learning additional topics pertaining to life skills. Third, schools could allow students free reign to research the Wild West, for example, rather
than the vital health signs of their own body. The problem is, mandatory curriculum focuses on the retention in postsecondary institutions; forgetting
the importance of success in life in general. The main priority of teacher guidelines are to prepare their students for college; allowing no attention to the
rest of the important circumstances a young adult will also encounter.
Furthermore, innumerable jobs do not require but the

Middle School Descriptive Writing
Sunlight is beaming through the window as the alarm clock beeps louder and louder. The first day jitters have begun. Just a little over two months
ago, fourth grade came to an end for Emily and summer vacation began. But, where did the summer go? Long days spent at the beach buried in the
sand; seem like a distant memory. Fifth grade has become the reality and being a middle school student is still sinking in. Finding the perfect outfit
seems near impossible. No one wants to start the first day of being a middle school student wrong. An agitated voice yelled down the hallway "Emily,
you are going to miss your bus if you don't hurry up!" She grabs a pair of Jeans and a pink Old Navy T–shirt. Time is not on her side. Before running
out of the house she grabs a breakfast bar, this was not how Emily planned to start the day. Such loud, anxious conversations echoed off the walls of
the bus. Bouncing around in the brown seats, trying to focus on something other than her shaky hands proved to be a difficult task. After what seemed
like forever, the towering building came into view. How could brick and stone be so intimidating? The brief walk along the brick path took no time at
all. New faces crowded the hall. The atmosphere almost resembled a jungle, frightened little animals mixed in with leopards. The leopards could

Mrs. Rodriguez introduced herself and asked the students to share something about themselves with the class. Why must students be faced with the
challenging task of talking in front of others on the first day? Isn't the first day in a new school challenging enough? Quietly, almost mouse like, one
girl said her name was Alana and she was new in town. Suddenly the fear went away. Knowing other students were just as nervous made it easier for
Emily to share stories about the days spent at the beach, and the jellyfish swarming around swimmers looking for their next

Persuasive Essay About High School
Starting school when you're four years old changes tremendously to when you're seventeen or eighteen. There are a few things about school that remain
the same, but many more changes are made throughout the years. Gradually homework gets harder and more complex, teachers change, different
activities are added, and much more. Elementary is just the base of what your life will be like in the future. High School prepares you more for the rest
of your life and is when you individually get to have options and decisions to make. Elementary school consists of learning vocabulary (words),
making friends, basic math, and playing outside for recess. The classes you take in Elementary are mandatory. You have to take Math, Science,
Language Arts, P.E., Music, Social Studies, Art, and Reading without have a choice on which class to take. There are no complex levels of
classes that you can take. Everyone is in the same class and it's usually with the same teacher. For example, your third grade teacher would teach
all your classes to you and you would stay in the same room for almost the whole day besides for Art, Music, and P.E. There are normally three
teachers for each grade which means your entire grade would be split up into three groups and those are the groups you'll be with the whole year.
Recess and lunch was the only times you could see your other friends that are in your grade. Everyone in first through sixth grade do not have any

Add the Lockers
Persuading Essay
Keilani Shelton #16
In sixth grade, I have experienced dropping by books and carrying much more supplies that I need at that moment. Therefor, I believe Holy Family
Catholic School needs to add lockers for the middle school students. Adding lockers can encourage responsibility for students, it will prevent students
from carrying to much supplies, and can help students be creative in an educational way. This action can encourage students to get ready for the next
grade in an organized and fun way. To start, students in the middleschool grades carry books, notebooks, etc. to a period they won't need at that time.
For example, students would have to carry their science books to math because they have science...show more content...
For example, they will have to memorize their locker combination. This can teach them to be organized and to remember things. This task can prepare
students for high school. It can prepare them for high school by teaching the students to be organized, which is a skill you will need for ninth, tenth,
and eleventh grade. In addition, having lockers can also teach students to be organized by memorizing where and what locker is theirs. This task can
help students and teach them that they will need this task in high school, collage, and even out of school. Lastly, lockers can encourage creativity.
Students will be able to decorate their lockers if they so choose. This concept can influence kids to be imaginative and creative with this sort of
freedom. For example, a student may like robots, so they can use stick notes to make a pattern of colors to make a robot. The sticky notes can be
used educationally as well. If they have homework from a certain period, they can write it down on the way to their next class. This way, when
students go to their lockers at the end of the day, they can see what homework that have to do. In conclusion, adding lockers can help students in
many ways. Adding lockers can assist students to carry less books, it can help teach them responsibility, and can encourage creativity. So, adding
lockers can help the middle school get ready for the next grade in a organized,

Persuasive Essay On High And Middle School
The start times for High and Middle school should be switched with the upper and primary. The times should be switched for the following 3
reasons. First, high schoolers need more sleep.Second, younger kids go to bed earlier than teens so they can wake up earlier. Last but not least, the
high will have fewer tardies first block. High schoolers need more sleep than the younger kids. Mainly because a majority of kids are not fully awake
first block and just half do all their work. Also younger kids don't need as much sleep they are always hipper and they take naps after school or even
during school.
There are reasons kids should start later than high school students. The main reason is because that many parents half to be at work at 8,

Persuasive Essay: Should Kids Have Recess?
The bell rings and the kids rush to the playground every one of the kids are playing except one billy is inside making up his time of interrupting
class. Now he is fidgety billy should be able to go outside no matter what and that is how it should be. Schools are holding recess hostage and the
adults take it away with one mess up lots of people think that the schools should not take recess away people think that they should make the kid
stay after school. So this is gonna be why I think that kids should have recess. The first reason of why kids need recess is because of Stress kids
are getting the mad feeling recess relieves that feeling and makes you feel better.Stress is a bad mostly on kids and when kids are working too hard
the and get really mad and not having recess makes them even madder. And people should know because when they were kids and they work too hard

This school in texas has been doing great on the students and people like what is happening. "A school in texas has been given four recess to kids

Persuasive Essay On Education In School
Education is a crucial aspect of people's lives. In the United States and numerous other countries, we are reminded throughout our twelve years of
mandatory schooling that we must do well so that we can get into a good college, achieve a degree, and then lead an accomplished and fulfilling
career. Despite the fact that this idea is drilled into our heads from a very young age, our system of education does not provide each child with the same
amount of support and encouragement. A vast number of black children are penalized for simply wearing their hair in its natural state. There have been
numerous instances in which black children are threatened with detention, suspension, and even expulsion if they refused to change their hairstyle into

Deanna and Mya Cook are two adopted twin sisters from Massachusetts who faced similar discrimination for their hairstyles. The twin girls went to
school with freshly done box braids and were told that their new style did not coincide with their school's dress code. These girls faced several harsh
punishments like being unable to attend prom, being unable to attend their graduation, and the twins were even told that they would be thrown out of
school if they did not change their hair. When an eight–year–old third–grader wore her hair styled in a "frohawk", a popular style that combines an afro
and a mohawk, for school at Tarver Elementary in Belton, Texas she was pulled out of class. The school's justification for this decision was by alleging
that the eight–year–old girl's hairstyle was not in accordance with the school's dress code policy, however, mohawks, the exact same style sans the
afro–textured hair, is allowed.
The testimonies of these girls and their parents are obvious acts of resistance. Their stories made headlines and people across the country know who
they are and how they were wronged. Rather than enduring the unjust punishments and accepting their circumstances they spoke up. They used their
voices and projected them loudly through social media. They were able to utilize their platforms so that they oppose the prejudice.

Persuasive Essay On Four Day School Week
How would it sound if school weeks were only four days long and, in doing that, it saved your school money at the same time? Well, for some rural
schools across the nation, this has become a reality. Four day school weeks are becoming a necessity for some rural school districts that lack funding.
It provides a realistic way for schools to remain open and also has added benefits beyond saving money. Four day school weeks may not be a realistic
situation for all schools throughout the nation, but for those that it is possible, the four day school week saves money, improves test scores, and
further improves the school as a whole. If there is ever a smart way for a school district to save money, school boards will always lend an ear to the

This eventually leads to better standardized testing scores district wide. Merryville High School in Louisiana, "has seen average ACT scores school
wide rise from 18.7 to 20 in just four years of having the four day schedule. Honor roll students in middle and high school have also doubled"
(Chmelynski). Also, according to the table on page 82 of Yarbrough's article, test scores on the CTBS improved after moving to the four day
school week in both the 3rd and 9th grade levels that were tested (see last page of paper). These improvements do not just happen over a long
period of time, school districts have seen immediate improvement in scores. "Webster County School district ranked 115th in Kentucky's state test
scores. The year after moving to a four day week, they improved to 61st" (Weldon 32). Not only are schools seeing improvement in test scores, but
they are also seeing overall improvement in all aspects of their district. The overall logistics run much smoother in schools that have four day weeks
compared to the five day week. "Some districts had experienced a decline in dropout rates, decreased disciplinary referrals, improved attendance, fewer
class interruptions, more positive attitudes about school, and better staff development" (Yarbrough and Gilman 81). Another logistical benefit to having
four day school week is that students have more time to get involved in extracurricular activities due to more availability

Middle School Persuasive Essay
The fear of finals, the stress of studying, the frenzy to fit in. All of these feelings boil up to one thing: Middle School. Although at times it may seem
that one small incident might be the end of the world, by taking certain precautions and following basic social rules, it will seem as though you danced
through your middle school years. In the midst of the rigorous academics of St. Michael's, the perplexity of social events, and the excitement of
entering the hallowed halls of high school, you can easily navigate your eighth grade journey by listening to the advice of an eighth grader who has

From that point of view, I cannot put in my two cents yet, but I can say that a lot more goes into the preparation part of high school than is
portrayed in the cinematic world. First and foremost, the most important step in preparing for high school is choosing where you will be spending
your next four years. When doing this, look at what the school offers. If you are interested in a sport, such as basketball or volleyball, does the
school have a strong team in that sport? If you are looking for a rigorous academic program, will that school offer you a challenge? One of the most
difficult parts about picking the best school for you is having the input of others. Where your friends are attending school the next year is a big
wavering factor on your decision. Keep in mind that there will be over a thousand students at your new school, with plenty of friends to choose from.
I can speak from personal experience when I say that it is nerve–racking to think of having a completely fresh start, but at the same time, it allows for a
sigh of relief. Accelerated biology, honors geometry, theatre, engineering, and the list goes on and on. With a list of choices that could stretch across
the ocean, how is one supposed to be limited to seven classes a day? The next most crucial thing in the mapping out of your high school expedition is
picking your classes, and if you

Persuasive Essay For High School

  • 1. Persuasive Essay For High School Junior high, easy right? You do your work have minimal homework don't even worry about studying. High school is an entirely different animal. High school compared to junior high is like a sheep on a farm to a sheep in west africa being hunted constantly by blood hungry lions. Prepare to walk into a living hell. But also be prepared to accept all the new freedoms that come along with high school. In junior high it's a glorified babysitting service for the children, in high school you have a job and your grades reflect how well you do your job. Surround yourself with friends who are motivated in their schoolwork just as much or more than you are. If you can handle all of the work that high school gives then take a walk on the bright side and join a sport, it will help you immensely in your social life. My advice to any incoming freshman study Charles Darwin, adapt or die. The work load of middle school is minute compared to the amount given by the high school teachers, especially if you get Chris Limback as a teacher. Be prepared to make study habits if you haven't already and even if it's just for 20 minutes a night try to make some time to study. Just simply reviewing the notes you took in class and going over them a couple times to yourself can drastically pull your grade in almost any class up. If all your teachers decide to assign homework on the same day ( and it will happen), don't freak out and give up form a plan as to how you are going to approach getting it done and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Middle School Persuasive Essay Middle school. Clusters of kids standing in the middle of the hallway acting like blocked off signs you would see during construction on the highway. Random conversations fill the air, as you acquire tiny fragments of a different person's conversation each time you pass by. It seems scary, but it's quite the adventure. Middle school and High school can be really hard for kids, and for some it comes really easy for. Some kids don't know who they are yet, and are trying to discover who they're meant to be. That's why one word of advice I would give to any Middle–schooler or High–schooler would to be to "Find your purpose, and stay with it." We all have our own destinies. Whether it's God's future planned for you, or your dreamt future. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Recess Will Ronco RB3 Middle school students should have a 20 minute or more recess because not only would kids be happier and healthier but they would do better in school. One reason middle schools should have recess is that kids are supposed to exercise 30 minutes every day to stay healthy. If kids don't get enough exercise, they become obese and unhealthy. Adding on, when kids are outside their bodies get Vitamin D from the sun and this gives their bodies nutrition and when they are inside they do not get this nutrition that is needed to keep them healthy. Vitamin D helps kids develop muscles and grow, so it is very important for the to get enough. Also, a third reason middle schools should have a 20 minute recess is that kids get very stressed over homework and school projects and if they are outside for 20 minutes studies show that kids forget about their homework and enjoy socializing with other people. Middle School students should not have a 20 minute recess. One reason is that there is a prodigious amount of bullying occurring on the playground. This results in kids feeling left out or melancholy, problems like this could be stopped if there was no recess. Another reason is that time spent on recess could be spent on more mind challenging things like math or writing. More time being practiced on these skills would result in a better overall performance. Adding on, another reason is that kids Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Persuasive Essay About School Sports I see that it has come to your concern that you may or may not want to not fund school sports. I would like to share that I think funding school sports would be a excellent idea. As a student myself that does sports outside of school. Sports help me to focus more on getting my responsibilities done. If you have to do well in school to be able to participate in your favorite sport kids will strive to get better grades and try to do the best they can do in school to get the best grades they can. Students enjoy watching and playing the sports.School sports will give students opportunities in life and will have a good learning experience through the love of sports. I think that playing school sports will help students strive in school. Students enjoy playing for the team and getting fan love from the other students In "What's in the name of football?" Students that are fans for the football team decorating the school with streamers and pictures to wish them good luck. I bet the football team gets extra happy to see that all...show more content... • 5. Speech In Middle School I remember when I was in Middle School, my teacher told me that I had to write and recite a speech in front of the whole school and four judges. The speech that I had to recite was about the career I wanted to study when I started attending college. In that moment, I was feeling very nervous about the speech and also worried that the message I gave that day was going to be successful and approved by the school and judges. The recitation of the speech was a week away, and it was vital for me to acknowledge everything about the encoding of my speech.I started thinking about my communication techniques to use in the recitation. Since the judges were ethical listeners, I needed to give my best in the speech in order to obtain a positive and constructive Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Persuasive Essay On STEM Education Everyone wants what is best for their children, right? If that is true, then schools need to start preparing their students for the challenges they will meet in college and the skills to overcome them. This is best done through the presence of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in middle and high schools. Through Wisconsin schools furthering their focus on STEM with extracurriculars, students will gain vital skills that are necessary for human progression, problem–solving and time management skills that can be used in real life, and the students learn how they can apply what is being taught in the classroom to real obstacles and challenges. It is clear that STEM is a rapidly growing and advancing field that is needed for our human progression. There are so many different professions that fall under STEM education and many of them impact the world every day. According to former President Barack Obama "[Science] is more than a school subject, or the periodic table, or the properties of waves. It is an approach to the world, a critical way to understand and explore and engage with the world, and then have the capacity to change that world" (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Here, former President Obama is talking about how important science is as more than just a school subject; science can be taken out of school and used to impact many people and change the world. Some may say that there have been other fields in history that became very popular but Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. School Promotion Persuasive Essay It has been a very busy summer, and it is hard to believe that the kids have been back in school a few weeks already. As you settle into your school routine, remember to keep your children involved in church. Sunday school promotion will be Sept.6th. Wanda Sparks will again be teaching the 3 and 4 year old class. Kindergarten through second grade is taught by Linda Treadway. Third through fifth grade teachers are Kim Bennett and Tony Baker. Children's Church will also start on Sept. 6th. Toddlers and 3 and 4 year olds will stay in their classroom for Sunday school and church. Kindergarten – third grade will come into the sanctuary for prayer and singing and then be dismissed during welcome of guests. Don't forget to sign up for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Persuasive Essay On Public School Education Public school education seemed to prepare me for every piece of knowledge necessary; with the exception of common adult skills. Following graduation, this went unnoticed until I was faced with situations that I was not prepared for. There is undoubtedly a flaw in today's education system when high school seniors graduate without the common knowledge to perform necessary adult tasks. Schools need to place a higher priority on teaching life skills rather than strictly focusing on educational facts. Budget cuts have taken beneficial information, such as life skills, out of the school's itinerary. When essential life lessons are left out of teacher handbooks, students are left to self teach the information that could have been taught otherwise. This results in young adults who are hopeful not to generate monumental mistakes while making potentially life altering decisions; through trial and error. First of all, schools tend to prioritize some ineffective information within each core subject. For example, memorizing the periodic table is often a requirement in high school science classes. While the information may be fascinating, this skill will rarely be used within the lifetime of any of the students spending quality time to load this information into their brains. Likewise, in history class weeks are spent reciting specific qualities of our first presidential families' personal lives. While it is vital to teach students about our presidents to understand democracy, lessons go astray when extending out on personal information like the illness of Abraham Lincoln's son, for instance. These lessons can take away time that students could spend learning additional topics pertaining to life skills. Third, schools could allow students free reign to research the Wild West, for example, rather than the vital health signs of their own body. The problem is, mandatory curriculum focuses on the retention in postsecondary institutions; forgetting the importance of success in life in general. The main priority of teacher guidelines are to prepare their students for college; allowing no attention to the rest of the important circumstances a young adult will also encounter. Furthermore, innumerable jobs do not require but the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Middle School Descriptive Writing Sunlight is beaming through the window as the alarm clock beeps louder and louder. The first day jitters have begun. Just a little over two months ago, fourth grade came to an end for Emily and summer vacation began. But, where did the summer go? Long days spent at the beach buried in the sand; seem like a distant memory. Fifth grade has become the reality and being a middle school student is still sinking in. Finding the perfect outfit seems near impossible. No one wants to start the first day of being a middle school student wrong. An agitated voice yelled down the hallway "Emily, you are going to miss your bus if you don't hurry up!" She grabs a pair of Jeans and a pink Old Navy T–shirt. Time is not on her side. Before running out of the house she grabs a breakfast bar, this was not how Emily planned to start the day. Such loud, anxious conversations echoed off the walls of the bus. Bouncing around in the brown seats, trying to focus on something other than her shaky hands proved to be a difficult task. After what seemed like forever, the towering building came into view. How could brick and stone be so intimidating? The brief walk along the brick path took no time at all. New faces crowded the hall. The atmosphere almost resembled a jungle, frightened little animals mixed in with leopards. The leopards could pounce any minute on their...show more content... Mrs. Rodriguez introduced herself and asked the students to share something about themselves with the class. Why must students be faced with the challenging task of talking in front of others on the first day? Isn't the first day in a new school challenging enough? Knowing other students were just as nervous made it easier for Emily to share stories about the days spent at the beach, and the jellyfish swarming around swimmers looking for their next Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 11. Persuasive Essay About High School Starting school when you're four years old changes tremendously to when you're seventeen or eighteen. There are a few things about school that remain the same, but many more changes are made throughout the years. Gradually homework gets harder and more complex, teachers change, different activities are added, and much more. Elementary is just the base of what your life will be like in the future. High School prepares you more for the rest of your life and is when you individually get to have options and decisions to make. Elementary school consists of learning vocabulary (words), making friends, basic math, and playing outside for recess. The classes you take in Elementary are mandatory. You have to take Math, Science, Language Arts, P.E., Music, Social Studies, Art, and Reading without have a choice on which class to take. There are no complex levels of classes that you can take. Everyone is in the same class and it's usually with the same teacher. For example, your third grade teacher would teach all your classes to you and you would stay in the same room for almost the whole day besides for Art, Music, and P.E. There are normally three teachers for each grade which means your entire grade would be split up into three groups and those are the groups you'll be with the whole year. Recess and lunch was the only times you could see your other friends that are in your grade. • 12. Add the Lockers Persuading Essay Keilani Shelton #16 In sixth grade, I have experienced dropping by books and carrying much more supplies that I need at that moment. Therefor, I believe Holy Family Catholic School needs to add lockers for the middle school students. Adding lockers can encourage responsibility for students, it will prevent students from carrying to much supplies, and can help students be creative in an educational way. This action can encourage students to get ready for the next grade in an organized and fun way. To start, students in the middleschool grades carry books, notebooks, etc. to a period they won't need at that time. For example, students would have to carry their science books to math because they have science...show more content... For example, they will have to memorize their locker combination. This can teach them to be organized and to remember things. This task can prepare students for high school. It can prepare them for high school by teaching the students to be organized, which is a skill you will need for ninth, tenth, and eleventh grade. In addition, having lockers can also teach students to be organized by memorizing where and what locker is theirs. This task can help students and teach them that they will need this task in high school, collage, and even out of school. Lastly, lockers can encourage creativity. Students will be able to decorate their lockers if they so choose. This concept can influence kids to be imaginative and creative with this sort of freedom. For example, a student may like robots, so they can use stick notes to make a pattern of colors to make a robot. The sticky notes can be used educationally as well. If they have homework from a certain period, they can write it down on the way to their next class. This way, when students go to their lockers at the end of the day, they can see what homework that have to do. In conclusion, adding lockers can help students in many ways. Adding lockers can assist students to carry less books, it can help teach them responsibility, and can encourage creativity. So, adding lockers can help the middle school get ready for the next grade in a organized, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Persuasive Essay On High And Middle School The start times for High and Middle school should be switched with the upper and primary. The times should be switched for the following 3 reasons. First, high schoolers need more sleep.Second, younger kids go to bed earlier than teens so they can wake up earlier. Last but not least, the high will have fewer tardies first block. High schoolers need more sleep than the younger kids. Mainly because a majority of kids are not fully awake first block and just half do all their work. Also younger kids don't need as much sleep they are always hipper and they take naps after school or even during school. There are reasons kids should start later than high school students. The main reason is because that many parents half to be at work at 8, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 15. Persuasive Essay: Should Kids Have Recess? The bell rings and the kids rush to the playground every one of the kids are playing except one billy is inside making up his time of interrupting class. Now he is fidgety billy should be able to go outside no matter what and that is how it should be. Schools are holding recess hostage and the adults take it away with one mess up lots of people think that the schools should not take recess away people think that they should make the kid stay after school. So this is gonna be why I think that kids should have recess. The first reason of why kids need recess is because of Stress kids are getting the mad feeling recess relieves that feeling and makes you feel better.Stress is a bad mostly on kids and when kids are working too hard the and get really mad and not having recess makes them even madder. "A school in texas has been given four recess to kids in the school and the teachers have said that the tests and results have been great". • 16. Persuasive Essay On Education In School Education is a crucial aspect of people's lives. In the United States and numerous other countries, we are reminded throughout our twelve years of mandatory schooling that we must do well so that we can get into a good college, achieve a degree, and then lead an accomplished and fulfilling career. Despite the fact that this idea is drilled into our heads from a very young age, our system of education does not provide each child with the same amount of support and encouragement. A vast number of black children are penalized for simply wearing their hair in its natural state. There have been numerous instances in which black children are threatened with detention, suspension, and even expulsion if they refused to change their hairstyle into ...show more content... Deanna and Mya Cook are two adopted twin sisters from Massachusetts who faced similar discrimination for their hairstyles. The twin girls went to school with freshly done box braids and were told that their new style did not coincide with their school's dress code. These girls faced several harsh punishments like being unable to attend prom, being unable to attend their graduation, and the twins were even told that they would be thrown out of school if they did not change their hair. When an eight–year–old third–grader wore her hair styled in a "frohawk", a popular style that combines an afro and a mohawk, for school at Tarver Elementary in Belton, Texas she was pulled out of class. The school's justification for this decision was by alleging that the eight–year–old girl's hairstyle was not in accordance with the school's dress code policy, however, mohawks, the exact same style sans the afro–textured hair, is allowed. The testimonies of these girls and their parents are obvious acts of resistance. Their stories made headlines and people across the country know who they are and how they were wronged. Rather than enduring the unjust punishments and accepting their circumstances they spoke up. They used their voices and projected them loudly through social media. They were able to utilize their platforms so that they oppose the prejudice. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Persuasive Essay On Four Day School Week How would it sound if school weeks were only four days long and, in doing that, it saved your school money at the same time? Well, for some rural schools across the nation, this has become a reality. Four day school weeks are becoming a necessity for some rural school districts that lack funding. It provides a realistic way for schools to remain open and also has added benefits beyond saving money. Four day school weeks may not be a realistic situation for all schools throughout the nation, but for those that it is possible, the four day school week saves money, improves test scores, and further improves the school as a whole. If there is ever a smart way for a school district to save money, school boards will always lend an ear to the ...show more content... This eventually leads to better standardized testing scores district wide. Merryville High School in Louisiana, "has seen average ACT scores school wide rise from 18.7 to 20 in just four years of having the four day schedule. Honor roll students in middle and high school have also doubled" (Chmelynski). Also, according to the table on page 82 of Yarbrough's article, test scores on the CTBS improved after moving to the four day school week in both the 3rd and 9th grade levels that were tested (see last page of paper). These improvements do not just happen over a long period of time, school districts have seen immediate improvement in scores. "Webster County School district ranked 115th in Kentucky's state test scores. The year after moving to a four day week, they improved to 61st" (Weldon 32). Not only are schools seeing improvement in test scores, but they are also seeing overall improvement in all aspects of their district. The overall logistics run much smoother in schools that have four day weeks compared to the five day week. "Some districts had experienced a decline in dropout rates, decreased disciplinary referrals, improved attendance, fewer class interruptions, more positive attitudes about school, and better staff development" (Yarbrough and Gilman 81).
