Our Teflon coatings meet all European and global food contact standards because our raw material suppliers are approved manufacturers. Before applying a non-stick coating, the surface undergoes preparation such as sandblasting to help the coating adhere, degreasing to clean the surface, or phosphating to transform the metal surface for coating application. Coatresa applies various preparation processes depending on the specific non-stick coating.
1. FAQs NOVEMBER 2017 – TEFLON NONSTICK
COATINGS
Do Teflon coatings applied by your company comply with food
contact standards?
Yes, we have a wide range of Teflon coatings that meet all food contact
approval standards both at a European and global level because our raw
material suppliers are approved manufacturers too.
What preparation does a non-stick coating require before being
applied?
Depending on the type of non-stick coating to be applied, there are several
alternatives:
- Sandblasting process in which the surface is prepared so that the
coating adheres to the substrate by means of high pressure jet of
abrasive agent, usually corundum.
- Degreasing process to clean the surface where the coating will be
applied.
- Phosphating process for the transformation of a metal surface into
another that does not have metallic or conductive properties, and that
is suitable for the coating
