Father: Mustafa Haider. Born 26th October 1947, Baramulla, Kashmir, India.
Orphaned at birth during the St Joseph’s Franciscan massacre, an attack by
invading tribesman from Pakistan on Baramulla that reduced the population
of the small town from 14,000 to 1000. Mustafa Haider believed that his son
Mansur would someday be instrumental in changing the fate of Kashmir.
Died in his hometown in 2012.
Cause of death: heart disease.
Note: After the death of his father, Haider took on the role of the family’s head,
sacrificing his dreams of a career in cricket to support the immediate needs of
his family.
Mother: Zainav Haider takes care of the ancestral property doing Saffron
farming.
Sisters: Sana and Zoon, twins; Unmarried. Sana is employed in government
sector in the university as teaching support and Zoon is working in the

Kashmir. He started his career hauling tourist sledges up the snowy slopes of
the Affarwat peak at an adolescent age. As a young adult, he worked as a
caretaker on a houseboat, location unknown. Mansur is currently working in a
support staff role at a cricket stadium in Srinagar, Kashmir.
This is his last known employment.
