Career Summary and Goals
Giving back, being kind and caring is a big part of who I am as a person. If I am not able to help I do
not feel complete or I have a feeling that I am missing something. I believe we all have up and downs in
our lives, we all deserve help, and we all deserve support. My deepest passion is to be able to be there
for at least one person and maybe help them to have life, a life they deserve, one they can feel proud of.
I have the ability to love and be kind and I want to share these abilities because I can.
Living and working in the Northwest Territories my awareness to the need of the aboriginal community
and the circle/cycle of abuse, sparked a passion in me to find a way that I could help. My experiences
with addiction and abuse have also lead me on this journey. I believe all children deserve love, safety
and the chance to be children and flourish. My dedication to help people leads me to want to work
within addictions, and in whole the affects it has on all involved.
Durable characteristics I feel that would excel my qualification and educational background are: I am
very nurturing and I have been this way from a young age. I care for not only the people I know, but
people in whole. I believe that all people deserve compassion and kindness. I am not judgemental and I
am very open minded to the realization that people have rights; the right to choose their religion, their
beliefs, how they live, etc. I believe I am very courageous as I am not scared to ask people if they are
ok. This is courageous as I am not scared to take the time to help people, or listen to them. When I am
aware that another person may be in need of help or that they just need support, my mind opens up and
my nurturing nature kicks in. This leads me to have many ideas on how I may be able to help them,
what they might need, how I can be there or to reach out to other avenues that may best suit their
need(s).
There have been times within my employment that I have preferred to work alone and also times when
team work has been my strength. I work well under direction, but I am not opposed to taking initiative.
I am not timid to ask questions if I feel I am not understanding my task at hand. I feel I have flourished
under management that was firm, direct and goal orientated. My dedication, passion, past experiences
and educational back ground may help to qualify me for a position in industry. I believe it is the level of
deepness and compassion I feel, that takes me to a level of being an asset. I have a willingness in me to
not only be a hard working employee, but to also be aware and constantly learning on how I can
better/educate myself on being the best I can be, through self-awareness, self-care, and promotion of
these qualities.
