Management and Direction
• Delivery of policy, issues and stakeholder management in Iraq for the Majnoon Field Development
JV, the Basrah Gas Company (South Gas Utilisation Project), and West Qurna 1 (15% Shell).
• Develop and implement with Shell businesses in Iraq mitigating strategies for non-technical risks
(examples include corruption and transparency, resettlement, local content / employment, training,

briefing papers (every 45 days) for international and local stakeholders in Arabic and English,

• Developed and managed the corporate identity campaign for the South Gas Utilisation Project and
the communication plans for Chemicals in Iraq, the Majnoon Field Development and the partnering

and Sri Lanka.
• Managed the collection and verification of data on security and human rights from 39 countries in

• Developed and managed partnerships with a number of critical stakeholders, including human

• Conducted a human rights impact assessment in Sudan and managed the subsequent action plan
(December 2006-December 2008) that included social investment projects and a review of Shell
Sudan’s contractors, in close coordination with investor relations, to manage divestment pressures

Capacity Building
• Delivered numerous training sessions on security and human rights to Shell professionals,
government officials, law enforcement officers, human rights NGOs, private security contractors,
diplomats, International and National Oil Companies in 15 countries.
• Developed with the CLEEN Foundation (Lagos, Nigeria) the SPDC security and human rights
training programme for public security.
• Developed a VPSHR security incident classification and integrated it in the Fountain Impact
Management (Shell’s global incident reporting system).
Analysis and Drafting
